true, people have absolutely no idea what a panic attack feels like until they have one. i dont even waste my time listening to people when they start to say things like " just deal with it ", " get over yourself ", " work your way through it and get on with your life " ...they are simply talking from utter ignorance. for people who have never had one, imagine the deepest knowing you could possibly know that you ARE going to die, you feel as helpless as a worm in the claws of an eagle. period
I can relate to this, ever since i took shrooms and pills i've been having panic attacks over the strangest, most random shithad some bad trips, bad hilucinations and it's scarred me for life...but taking anti depressants and therapy helped me to become stronger and fight these demons, haven't had an attack for 2 months, used to have them every day...this is a great video and t helps people, and to know that someone feels the same!
Ever had any inner-ear problems? Here's a suggestion: "Phobia Free" by Harold N. Levinson. Get it used on amazon or from the library for I have no financial interest in Levinson's work, just an emotional one. The book saved my life. Attack free for 16 years from a simple inner-ear medication. Get your inner ears checked, thoroughly. There is a medical link between panic and vestibular problems. go to pubmed dot gov and type vestibular agoraphobia into the search block.
ohhh dude. thank you so much for posting this. i have the SAME thing. I had my first one in my bed sleeping just looking out the window thinking.. holy shit the world is huge.. and i felt.. trapped? i dont know. i am so glad someone else actually gets that. i know exactly how it is man. its fear to its full extent.
same with be with the universe. its like this over whelming scale of destruction and all you can think about is the unescapable fate that you will die. and you are trapped in your body for doom. i used to get em everyday but now i take drowsy meds before i go to bed (thats when i would get them) and so now i just sorta dont worry about them.
That's great that you have something to get around them. My buddy Jon was irritated at me that I couldn't control myself. It's not rational, but in that state of mind you can't just make it stop or tell yourself it'll be ok. Now though, I realize the world hasn't changed, it's me.
Here is my story: Sunday, after running out of alprazolam (Xanax) on Friday,(now 3 days w/ out medication) I called my DR. for a refill. The DR was not on call and the nurse told me to "tough it out till' Monday. Long story short, 3:30am I called 911. The hospital finally gave me Ativan thru an IV and a Xanax. Don't mess with these attacks.
the first time it happend i was at the beach so there was only water and lots of sky. the fear suddendly kicked in. i just wanted to grab on to something just in case. but i know that it can NEVER happen yet the thought if it is VERY SCARY. yay for our imaginations.

Yeah, you feel afraid to be alive, as weird as it sounds. Like every square inch of the universe is out to get you.
And these past few weeks, I've been in such rough shape. Though yesterday I think I figured it out and now I'm like a well-cooked noodle.

It's true. Your rational brain shuts off long enough to make you think it's happening!
