  • looks like a gtr from a far. :D haha

  • this new swift is quite successful in the german vln-series at the nürburgring. at the 24h-race at the nürburgring it made a good 4th place in its class and was a long time at second but than there was a malfunction. i was there. in former years the old swift gti was very successful.

type in "RUNDSTRECKEN SWIFT" for some action with the little car...

  • oh wow yeah it makes sense. thanks guys

  • he does the thing where he extends the back of his foot to the throttle while holding the brakes, what does that do?

  • @ianhuang: he reduces the so called "drag moment" or "drag torque" (i think this is the right word for it in english. in german it is known as "Schleppmoment") by hitting the throttle a little bit while shifting down. the suzuki is a fwd, but it is more important for rwd-cars, because if you shift down in high revs while you are hard on the brake it could start locking the rear wheels caused by the drag torque and the car gets unstable at the rearend (perhaps you turn)

  • Its called heel and toe downshifting. Hes just bringing the rpm's up while downshifting.. it is needed to match the wheel speed with the engine speed during a downshift. As niggel said, on rwd cars you lose traction if you dont heeltoe and will lose the rear end. in fwd cars you tend to understeer if you dont heeltoe.

  • Dudes ..... 0-60 in 8,9 sec means 60 MILES per hour so that guys mom did 0-60 KILOMETERS in less than 7 sec .... SIMPLE!

  • no, its miles

  • pretty good for a 1.5L engine.

  • btw 45 years was an exaggeration

  • yeah but ur moms minivan can't turn in corners like a swift so stfu

  • 8.9 seconds is fine for the price and the mileage.. this car probably needs to be refuelled once every 45 years. and i don't think your mom's minivan can be tuned to be a jwrc car so stfu

  • I agree, 8.9 seconds is fine for the price and gas mileage. Its probably a fun little car. I was just commenting on how this guy said "just 8.9 seconds".. thats like saying, my grandma can run around the parking lot in "just 4.5 hours"..

  • and googboog, i know it gets good gas mileage. is that supposed to make '8.9 seconds is slow' mean less? and uuuh.. yes that is correct. my moms minivan cannot be a jwrc car. it is a minivan, and not a car. good point there.

  • oh because i was talking about handling

  • did he say it gets to 60 in "just" 8.9 seconds? My moms toyota minivan will do 0-60 in less than 7 seconds. wtf. 8.9 seconds is slow as absolute hell for cars of today.

  • only numbers. it means nothing...

  • numbers mean a lot, welcome to earth

  • the fiesta st for example needs 8.4s. this time reflects that these 0-60-stories doesnt reflects anything. although the st is perhaps not the fastest car to 60 compared with opponents in the same power-range, anyhow it is one of the quickest of these cars on a track. so is the swift.

  • Im not saying that it "reflects" anything except for the fact that it does 0-60 in 8.9 seconds. Which is a slow 0-60 time. And I would never say "My car does 0-60 in JUST 8.9 seconds!" as If that is something nice. My boxster does 0-60 in 6.1 seconds, and I consider that slow. I would never say my boxster does 0-60 in "just" 6.1 seconds.

  • i mean this 0-60-times say nothing about how quick a car is on a racetrack. it is irrelevant if it does 0-60 in eight or nine seconds. nevertheless the car with 9s can be faster. e.g. your boxter is surely quicker, than an old american musclecar when it comes to cornering. the muscle car is quick to 60 but only on a straight line.

  • it is the same with comparing the topspeeds of cars. i mean who is interested in this but kids comparing their dreamcars. the most fun you can achieve with a sportscar is in a speed-area much below, for example on a narrow mountain road. only there a car bares, if it is quick, or not...

  • Im not really that interested in comparing figures. I know what the swift can do. I am just commenting on how the commentor said "It goes 0-60 in 'just' 8.9 seconds". which sounds strange to me because 8.9 seconds is a slow 0-60 for any sports car. Would you say "My honda civic does 0-60 in just 7.5 seconds!"? no. because 7.5 seconds sucks. Would I say "My moms minivan does 0-60 in 7.5 seconds!"? no.

  • I might say, "My honda civic gets 40 mpg!" or "My moms minivan has 8 seats!" because those are the things that those vehicles are GOOD at. not try to expound on their crappy 0-60 times.

  • well, i think we all understand you meanwhile :-). you are judging sportscars by looking on the 0-60-times. like two kids comparing their dreamcars.

Wake up and take a look at the price... in my opinion a quick time for a car that costs a fractional amount of a porsche.

it is a little shopping-cracker doinig 0-60 in JUST 8.9s

...and a good looking one too ;-)

  • In most cases I see them out at the track, and can judge them there. Funny, I have never seen a suzuki swift at the track, in all my years.

  • ??? perhaps you are at the wrong racetracks? the car is quite popular in the vln-series at the nürburgring and was quite good at the 24h-race on the nürburgring this year. it made a good 4th place in its class and was a long time an the second position (of course in its class). not bad for a racecar build of a new car.

or type in above "rundstrecken swift"

(this is a video of the old swift but very impressiv how it abandons few new civic type-r)

  • Well, I go to texas motor speedway. I see some civics every now and then, and some miatas... but they are usually very modified to keep up with everybody else. The swift just isn't a popular car here in America period I think.

  • I never said that a 0-60 time denotes anything about how good a car does on the racetrack, how much fun it is to drive, or overall how fast it is. But, a 0-60 of 8.9 seconds is a slow 0-60. and I would never say that a car goes 0-60 in "just 8.9 seconds" as if that were good.

  • @ephidapoon ur moms minivan does 7sec 0-100km? get a life u bitch toyota yaris turbo does 7.9sec and swift sport can do in ´just 8 sec with esp off many small cars does in 8 sec like yaris alfa romeo mito opel corsa gsi and more go fuck ur mom in her minivan u fucking idiot dont talk bullshit 8 sec is pretty good

  • @TheAtaturkcu Wow, can i just fuck ur mom instead? 12 yr old shit aside, my point was that 8 seconds is really slow. The Yaris is a mpg car made by toyota, not a sports car. I go to the track regularly.. You have to understand also, that I am from america. Where teenagers get mustangs at age 18 that go 0-60 in 5.4 seconds. So to hear someone say "Just 8 seconds"... well it's funny to me, sorry. The slowest performance cars I see at the track are miatas, which I think are low-mid 7 0-60s.

  • @ephidapoon @ephidapoon so u mean ur shit mustangs is faster than japanese cars in track? go fuck ur mom u idiot this car is one of the fastest car in tracks doesnt matter what it does in 0-100km 8 sec is not so fast but not so slow either u dont know nothing about cars fucking gay

  • @TheAtaturkcu Um, no I didn't say that. Still talking about fucking my mom? Seriously, are you 10? Ive never seen a sports car at any of the track events that I have been to, that are as slow as 0-60 in 8 seconds. I have seen older 80's cars, but no late model cars that are that slow in the 0-60. Does that make sense to you? I think I do know a bit about cars. As a matter of fact, I race cars in ITA and Autox. And I'm pretty sure that your mom has never even taken you to a racetrack in your life

  • @ephidapoon omg u r really stupid crazy shit u race cars in xbox i think this car is jrc champion and they use this car in worlds greatest track in nurbering germany and they have a suzuki swift sport cup too so take ur stupid american cars and racers in ur ass and shut the fuck up idiot

  • @TheAtaturkcu I dont own an xbox. What is JRC? I have never seen a JRC event in all the time at the 3 closest tracks to me, MSR, TWS, and Texas Motor Speedway. Guess we don't do that here? The 'Ring is a great track. Although I think probably EVERY CAR ever made has a class race on the 'ring, buddy :). Im just saying, in MY area, where I race It's just not a common car because it's slow. And I think the majority of people in SCCA would laugh at an 8 second 0-60. Why are you so mad dude?

  • @ephidapoon haha u dont know what jwrc is?i told u man u dont know a shit so dont come here and talk to me about cars or race go and learn first

  • @TheAtaturkcu I see. It's rally racing. So I guess cars that do 0-60 in 8 seconds are fast in rally racing? Not sure where your going here.

  • @TheAtaturkcu Actually I don't think you understand what I'm saying, so let me phrase it the way you would: "omfg dude u r so fxin stupid u think swift is fast but it licks ur moms asshle i think ur a fuckin kid who doesnt have a drivers license stupid crazy shit fuck ass "

  • @ephidapoon just fuck off u stupid gay mother fucker im a racer u r just a shit go play with ur toys with ur mom

  • @TheAtaturkcu hahahah "Im a racer". I bet you are.

  • @ephidapoon

Ignore ataturkcu he means he's a racer on the Xbox 360. XD

  • my freind has 01 swift(american), it boogies. its his first car so he knows how to get it up and going. its hella fast.and its loud with only just a single 12" sub. but it cant beet a 93 subaru legacy wagon with a 95 imprezza 2.2 litter engine.

but yes swifts are not to be under estimated. suzuki deos their homework.
