  • You're right, COGENTCOG--I've seen the flyer, as well--in Ugly Things magazine--should've remembered that date!

  • I LOVE this song! Found this at songfactsDOTcom:

"The local rock group down the street is trying hard to learn there song" , from the Monkees "Pleasant Valley Sunday" is allegedly about The Myddle Class, a garage band from nearby Union County, NJ that recorded several Goffin/King songs, including "I Happen To Love You".

  • They once shared the stage with the Velvet Underground at Summit H.S. in New Jersey in 1966--now there's a Lou Reed connection if you want it!

  • @truethought62 - actually it was December 11, 1965 - 8 p.m. - Admission $ 2.50...I have a flyer, being a nerd about the Velvets...they briefly shared the same manager, Al Aronowitz... :))

  • Sounds like Lou Reed a little bit...

  • Yes, they do a great version with this one. If this got more exposure it would have been a big hit.

  • Good version of the prunes classic

  • Was also done by the Electric Prunes on their album "Underground."

  • SunDazed or Rhino or someone - needs to release The Myddle Class on CD. It's too long overdue!

  • Awesome!!!!
