  • Funny ad. Just as funny as Dukakis riding the tank.

  • So I still feel like the wrong guy got elected.

  • Obama should make his own version of this ad for Romney

He was for healthcare reform, but now he's against it!

  • One of the best ads I have ever seen in politics. Surpassed by Bush Sr.'s WIllie Horton ad, but precious little else.

  • did bush go to war tho, that c u next tuesday

  • this is the best ad in the history of the universe.

  • best. ad. ever.

  • LMAO... This ad did him in.

  • I would've voted for Kerry, but I must admit, ad like this and the one about Kerry's service in Vietnam were what gave Jackass the election.

  • @mr19932001 kerry is at least as big a scumbag. i cannot think of anyone who has run since Adm Stockdale, perhaps, who is worthy of anything but a kick in the ass and a day in the stocks, complete with rotten fruit. That's going back to at least kennedy, who was a disgraceful figure.

  • @kenfo0 I never said anything about liking Kerry, he was one of the worst candidates the Dems ever nominated, all I said was that I would prefer him over Bush.

  • @mr19932001 so you are in the habit of voting for those with whom you disagree? WTF is wrong with you? Get some idea of what you want, gather facts about the candidates, then vote based on how close the two are. Grow up.

  • @kenfo0 No, I did not like either candidate, but I thought Bush did such a bad job that I would, despite some disagreement, vote for Kerry because he was the lesser of two evils and was more qualified for the job than Bush was.

  • @mr19932001 sigh. so if someone pts a gun at you and says you can either rape that 3rd person or kill them, you'd choose the lesser of those 2 evils, as opposed to at least two other choices, yet think yourself bright and moral? Please.

  • @kenfo0 Nader was the only other option and he didn't stand a chance and is one of the reasons we had 8 misserable years with Bush. The only third party candidate that ever stood a chance at winning the presidency in the last 50 years was Ross Perot. When there is a progressive third party candidate that actually stands a chance and has what it takes to be president than he or she will get my vote.

  • @mr19932001 Progressive? Pffft. uh, no. The vast majority of Americans do NOT want a "progressive"; witness obama's sprint to the middle after beating up on hilarious clinton. No, Americans simply want a govt that leaves them largely alone. Don't steal my money and send it to a rich or poor guy, don't have police roadblocks all over, don't tell me what to do with my property. Maybe the fbi, cia, nsa, dia, etc could stop some terrorists before they try to fly a plane into something, etc.

  • @mr19932001 also, nader didn't stand a chance was because people like you say you WOULD vote for him, bUUUUUuuuutt......., and his bizarre cobbling together of idiotic causes like the dopers, in order to get votes. You should be voting your beliefs, not voting for the 3rd best evil.

  • @kenfo0 I agree. People want to bet on the horse they think will win rather than was is right and in the best interests of the nation. Somehow they think that makes them winners if they are on the winning team. I suspect these are the same people that cut people off people in traffic when they see someone else put their blinker on to change lanes. People devoted to "winning".

  • @TheBrewchief YES! There is a basic stupidity and self absorption that is common today, and people think they "win" when they won nothing and actually made a situation worse. After the last election, several black acquaintances talked about how "we" won. I asked them then and now "what did you "win""? They can't answer. They simply say "you're just jealous", which is nonsensical. I can't think of a decent presidential candidate in 20 yrs. A lot of "say one thing, do another" frauds.

  • @mr19932001 Nader was a great consumer advocate. There is another progressive third party candidate, Ron Paul, a libertarian on the Republican ticket who consistently ranks at the very top or near the top of polls (Indiana and Iowa straw polls, MSNBC poll, the CPAC twice in a row), yet is being eclipsed in the media by Perry and Romney. Seems they do not want people to believe he can win. Probably means he is a the one we need. Vote for the right 1, not just the horse you think will win.

  • @TheBrewchief I like and respect Ron Paul, but he's far from progressive. I agree with his views on foreign policy and on the drug war, but some of his economic views are WAT TOO extreame, and while I think the Dept. of Education has its' flaws, I would never abolish it and privatize education like Congressman Paul wants to and he wants to deregulate wall street even more and deregulating it in the first place is one of the main reasons the economic crisis hapened.

  • @mr19932001 You're right he's not progressive in the traditional sense. I was thinking more from the aspect of social reform, and in some ways, less governance is a new idea given the trend towards the "mommy state". I don't agree with everything he believes either, but I think he is an honest man and not Bilderberg-owned like Perry. As for Wall Street, many of these monster banks that we made even bigger with the bailouts (some used to merge) would have gone under, like they should've.

  • @TheBrewchief Are you kidding? The Monster Banks EXIST so Blood Sucking Vampire Jews can drain America dry. And "The Government" is wholly owned and operated by them.

  • @ThusSpakeDenise Yes, but the Federal Reserve Bank is the mothership for the monster banks and corporations. The Fed is not the citizen's bank, but serves the interests of globalists like the Rothschilds and Rockefellers and their banksters. I'm not sure what would have been different without the Fed in 2008, whether the government still would have facilitated the bailouts, but I know the Fed lords over our currency and whores for its pimps, and that's not worth a damn.

  • Republican or Democrat, you have to admit this was an effective ad. And John Kerry helped him with his "I voted for it before I voted against it" comment.

  • @Elvenwarrior2001 Saying this was an "effective ad" is like sing 9/11 was an "effective" modification to flight plans. The result of the BS smear campaign against Senator Kerry was four more miserable years that the country will always regret.

  • Oh so THIS is how Kerry was said to go anywhere the wind blows. XD

I knew he changed his mind a fucking lot, but... Hahaha.

  • I understand this was an utterly damaging add for Kerry, when you address simple minds you got to use simple images, ideas. It's an efficient political bashing add. But when you remember what came next, what this dreadful time lead us to, this add is uttery laughable, at the expense of the people who made it.

  • John Kerry was an awful DEM nominee. Seriously, a Washington insider who voted against funding our troops after voting to send them to war? Wes Clark and Joe Lieberman would have given Bush a run for his money, but all the other democrats were awful.

  • Yeah but real sailers know the wind was only blowing one direction that day. I get the pun, but the wind was only blowing one way.

  • Holy shit! It was music!

  • Which kind of character does have a man that faces a difficult sport like windurf ? Kerry goes planning in his board. Bush in his gas automobiles .

  • @miguelmouta You have make absolutely no senses.

  • @MattCapulet For a sedentary brain comprehension, yours its the expected comement.

  • @miguelmouta For a doubt which have no shadows, you have still make absolutely no senses.

  • @MattCapulet Surely , for your brain which still dont thinks.

  • You people will never understand why windsurfers love to windsurf and what windsurfing is all about. Your just too busy golfing.

  • If you have to do your ad about your adversary, you've REALLY run out of ideas!

  • politicians are f n retarted!

  • even funnier than this ad is the quip on 30 rock (episode 2 of season 2) where a private investigator tells Jack that he has to get rid of his cookie jar collection if he wants to be President of GE - "You're like John Kerry and his windsurfing. I warned him too..."

  • Almost never supported Bush on anything. Thought he was mostly a dud but this ad against Kerry is genius haha!

  • haha "john kerry which ever way the wind blows"

  • This is just negative campaining and this is wrong.

  • IF clinton wouldnt have passed so much stuff then George bush wouldn't have had to deal with the outcomes during his presidency. Its not his fault the economy started going down. ITs CLINTONS, if he wouldn't have given everyone mortgages they and the banks knew they couldn't afford we wouldn't be in this predicament.

  • @fatyburger

Didnt Clinton had a surplus of 200 billion under his administration?

    Or am I wrong? :')

  • I don't particularly like John Kerry, but if he had won in 2004 instead of Bush I think this country would be in much better shape.

  • kkkkkkkkkkk

  • Not sure about his policies, however he needs to keep his head up, sheet in a little more, point his front foot forward and more it up to the mast foot. Pull his hips in and roll his shoulders back. No wonder he lost, his technique is awful.

  • War hero John Kerry? He's an effeminate cheese eating, wine sipping windsurfer?

John Kerry won the Silver Star, the highest medal that the Navy can award. Kerry won the Silver Star for writing up a plan, then executing it. -- Of instead of swiftboats running away from machine gun nests, to steer directly at them, going ashore and cleaning them out.

    It worked!

The filthy Republickins thus besmirched war heroes everywhere, making their medals seem political and dirty. Party before America!

  • I LOVE this ad!!!!

  • Right wing, Left wing... get it?

  • HAHAHA..this made me laugh so hard.

  • LOL.

  • This ad makes me laugh out loud!

  • Kerry was the worst candidate for president since Mike Dukakis.

  • LOL quite a damaging yet funny ad

  • I am Republican, but I feel bad for Bush. I hate Obama too.

Even Republicans now want to distance themselves from Bush because they will otherwise lose.

I hope he regains his popularity and is able to save his legacy.

  • John "The Poodle" Kerry is a SCUMBAG

  • Dang...

I wasn't really paying attention to the 2004 election, but, dang.... Poor Kerry.

  • This was probably the most damaging ad of 2004, I remember this one.

  • this was the best ad ever.

  • @DCProductions77 For the ignorant, yeah. You have to not know what a flipflopper Bush was to believe it. Bush was against nation-building then for it, He was opposed to a 9/11 Commission but eventually caved in, he ran in 2000 for "Responsibility" as a soundbite but deflects all possible Congressional oversight, even allowed Cheney to claim he wasn't part of the executive! On and on he went.

  • @Redcarpet01 Im a computer science major at a 4 year university and i was thinking about getting minor in history or political science. All my generals were done so i took 300 political science classes. And a teacher was showing me this video talking about campaigns and adds of president. The whole class cracked up! This my friend is the funniest add ever. Ive seen a lot of history president bashing ads. Sorry, this one takes the cake. Nobody has even came close to touching how funny this is!

  • I like George W. Bush. He will be known as one of the best presidents in U.S. history.

Trust me, only history will prove what a wonderful president Bush was. When we see how our nation is so much safer and how such a legacy will live on, then Americans will thank Bush for his American values and principle based decisions.

Bush made decisions on principle, not on political expediency.

    BUSH IS AWESOME!

  • the only thing republicans are good in, is running a smear campaign!

  • haha nigga please the democrats do it more

  • hilarious ad!

  • im with the last guy im democratic and this is the best add ive ever seen.

  • I think this was the republicans most effective ad of 04

  • Obama will make history happen he is aware of economic problem he defeated hilary clinton one the toughest candidates

  • lol funny until you realize a retard got elected and ran the country into the ground.

  • no it was the fucking congressional elections of 06 when Pelosi bitch ran our country to the ground

  • EPIC AD

  • Obama '08 !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hah. yupp

  • obama has a 95% chance of being elected cause there's no reason to vote for mccain hope this helps

    laters

  • you dumb motherfucker obama is a joke and only got this far because hes half-black

  • That's probably why Kerry lost. If we get another four years of the Republican party, we're screwed.

  • #1 Scumbag

  • that figures why he didnt get elected

  • John "The Poodle" Kerry is a SCUMBAG

  • OBAMA - BIDEN '08

  • I'm a democrat but I must admit that was clever

  • Lets hope McBush dosnt get elected or were fucked

  • Democrats are too liberal now a days

its gonna take a more moderate dem to take back the white house like Billy boy did

  • its true, we need another jfk

  • That ad was perfectly briliant.

  • Wow. That ad sucked so much.

  • you suck

  • This ad is truly brilliant. I just watched it 5 times in a row and it still makes me laugh while it impresses me with its message. What an incredible combination of so many elements into one clear and succinct point. The visuals and music make Kerry look unpresidential and illustrate his flip-flopping. The announcer is perfectly deadpan, making the message believable and letting him play "straight man" to the silliness on screen. The final line sums the whole message up with a great punchline.

  • The problem is the ad talks about flip-flopping that never actually happened. The two pieces he voted on for the $87 billion were a bill and an amended bill. The commercial isn't supposed to work, but unfortunately people will listen to anything if it's got flashy pictures. *sigh*

  • Some of the younger folk in here may not know this ad is a partial re-make. Nixon's campaign team used an ad against McGovern in the 1972 election. I think it had McGovern's picture on a weather vane that was blowing in different directions based on different issues.

  • Nice. Thanks for noting that, wouldn't have known. (Tuneman1984)

  • kerry pwned like a beeatch. taxocrats LOSE. You LOSE...good DAY sir!

  • Well you'll never get to say that again so soak it up.

  • as if being changeable is worse than never being willing to compromise (like George Bush) I can't believe he lost, even still

  • *giggles* I remember this ad!

  • I cannot believe he endorsed someone...who would want his goonie endorsement. If I were Obama, I would get as far away as possible from that guy.

  • He endorsed Obama before he voted against him.

  • That was a clever ad. And it did the trick in 2004.

  • But it was wrong. The $87 billion was in two different bills - one calling for US to pay it, and the other calling for the Iraqis to pay it. Shows how much Republicans know about how Congress works. Dum dum dum.

  • Great for President "30% approval rating" Bush! What a lame duck! Can't understand why the GOP is still tagged as a party of rich and powerful. John Kerry was a joke too.

  • I'd much rather have a President who can windsurf over one who can't and can't spell or pronounce "nu-clear" properly.

  • Most Republicans are too liberal to me. They seem just like democrats. We need some butt-kicking Nazi Neocon candidates like Pat Buchanan, so that America really see the difference - Democrats are rational and Republicans are insane, selfish and hateful.

  • This is backwards. You want everyone to know how bad Republicans are. So you wish Republicans were worse.

  • Whoa, something screwy happened. I was replying to a comment downthread, but it got stuck up here.

  • sunflower...you are so ignorant it makes me sick you obviously buy into the republican propaganda machine. it blows me away how you can badmouth clinton when bush is 10X worse. what reality are you living in? dumbass

  • right coming from someone that believes everything the clinton propaganda machine says.

  • Your both incredibly stupid. It's not who the president is, it's who controls the president. It's the power behind the curtains. It's just a public face morons.

  • I think what America needs is more lobbyist shills and C students as presidential candidates.

  • As a stupid democrat I freaken hate republican bitches! haha, lol's just kidding!

  • Now GW Bush has harmed our military and divided our nation as much as LBJ and Nixon did. Heck of a job eh?

  • Facts prove that John Kerry was the wrong candidate for the presidency. This is proven by the fact that he lost the election. Loosing from G.W.Bush..... This happened before with democratic candidates like stevenson, mcgovern, mondale, dukakis. Will they ever learn. A race Guliani-Clinton could be very close. What a disaster for the world if Guliani would be elected president.

  • why would anyone think that hillary clinton would make a good president? didn't this country already suffer enough in the 1990s? the clinton's are the most corrupt political couple in american history. i don't want a democrat for president, but at least if obama got the democratic nomination and won we wouldn't hopefully have all the corruption going on by a president.

  • I agree. Therefore I made the comparison with losers like McGovern,Mondale and Dukakis. They were the Wrong candidates although they were supported by the Democratic Party establishment ( and they lost).

  • A flip flopper from Massachusetts.. that didn't turn out too well last time did it Mitt Romney

  • ha Stupid John Carrey. He is a f***in idiot! Bush is too tho

  • He's cool because he windsurfs

  • I love how the Republicans spent all of 2004 drilling the term "flip flopper" into all of the retarded Republican brains out there - wait till next year. Even the sweetheart Fred Thompson himself has flip flopped on everything, abortion, the war in Iraq - if Gore teams up with Obama next year, kiss your asses goodbye for the next 16 years

  • What was stupid was Kerry never actually flip-flopped! The origin of the money in the bill changed in committee, therefore Kerry changed his vote. How hard is that to understand?

  • very

  • i will vote for any republican for president over any democrat. i hope primary voters keep in mind that the democrats would love to run a similar add against a republican. that is something people need to consider, before voting for romney in the primaries. it isn't his religion that is an issue, it is the fact that democrats will make there own flip flopping add.

  • I respect John Kerry's ability to comment on military

service. He signed up and asked to be sent to Viet Nam,

while Bush was hiding out in the National Guard.

If you want the truth about serving your country, go to

a homeless shelter where we keep most of our vets and

ask a vet if he would rather have hidden in college and the National Guard like Bush or go get shot at like

    Kerry did.

  • I love that.

  • Damn right!
