Blue eyed Dalmatians can breed. I have a 17 month old dal with 2 blue eyes and has no hearing issues. ALL Dalmatians are equally prone to hearing problems, not just the blue eye'd ones. I have seen many deaf/unilateral hearing Dalmatians with brown eyes also.

Our Dalmation was definately a loveable dog... show her a bone and she loved it....give her a thick rope with a knot tied in the middle and throw it as far as you could.., she would chase it running 30 mph and fall head over heal trying to get that rope. She would chase her rope for many hours. When she turned 13-14 yrs, she was slowing down and age was taking over... She chased the rope 1 more time and that was it. At 15, she could no longer stand up or go to poddy so vet had to do it.
Lucky i have always loved Dalmatians ever since i watched 101 Dalmatians when i was little i always wanted one i cant wait tell im older so i can get one ! your dog is so cute tho !!!

It is NOT true that if the dalmatian has two diff. colored eyes means the bloods were mixed. It just means they are cute and special. If you're concerned have a DNA panel run by your vet. I've had dalmatians with two diff. colored yes and the DNA panels comes back that they are pure bred.

@ClaireF93 No this is not true. You can look up information on it. It is called Heterochromia, this is found in animals as well as humans. It is actually very common in dalamations as well. It doesn't mean that your puppy was mixed with its own blood line. Vision can be just fine.Look up more information on Heterchromia and you can get some ans.
@hardc0reLoipon noo, my uncle bought a husky and it had one blue eye and one brown eye, and he got told the same as you did, and he wanted to be clear so they took him to the vets to be sure all his blood and that was fine, and they said it's good, and that it would be strange for a husky to have the same colored eyes, its the same for all dog breeds, it doesn't matter, nothing's wrong, its acc quite good, doesn''t have anything to do with blood mixed with siblings or mothers, so yeah :) xx
This is not true. I have a Dalmatian with the same blue and brown eyes shown in this video. It's common for them to have either blue,brown or one of each. Has nothing to do with inbreeding.
@hardc0reLoipon Actually i don't think there has to be incest in the dog's family tree to get the different eye colors, it's a gene wich is also responsible for the white parts of the fur. I think dalmatians with either one or two blue eyes are not allowed to breed because dalmatians with blue eyes tend to be deaf because of that gene. of course not all dalmatians with blue eyes are deaf and not all without are perfectly healthy, but thats what I heard. I'm not entirely sure about this either.

I have a male rescue dally and he is the most loyal friend I have. He loves all human company and is never aggressive to humans the Dalmatian has a really bad rep for being hyper etc however with proper exercise and training they make brilliant pets. Ps great video cute pup

Be careful... looked like your dog has a brown and blue eye? I've read that can be a sign of eventual deafness in dalmatians. While it may only be partial it can be full. Just something to keep in mind and on the watch for.
Totally wrong. They are, if exercised properly and given the love they deserve, the greatest breed of dog in the world. Polite, friendly and extremely loyal. Fantastic dogs. Hope that helps.

They are exceedingly loyal to their owner and family and make great fun loving pets. Just keep them enclosed by fences and on a leash and they should be fine.
I have a 'brother' (you know Im the cat hes the dog) and he is a dalmatian.. mrcuteepuppy.. and yes, he is agressive but it is because they are really special if you are not with them they'll get mad and they will bark you everytime they see you, if you want a dalmatian you have to think that you will have to be with him or her everyday! (dont make the same mistake that I did) :)
dere not ok i've a neighbour who is 2 and wen he cums over osc barks bout twice, den he just gets aquainted and he plays with him! i wouldnt say he's the most gentle of dogs but he's certainly not DANGEROUS!!!
dalmatiAn :p have you had him baer tested? one or both blue eyes in a dal puts them at higher risk for being partially to full deaf. but since you've been training him he must have atleast some hearing abilities if not all :) dals are extremely intelligent, spoil easily, bottomless food pits that will eat ANYthing, velcro dog that HAS to be a part of the family. they need *atleast* one full out run for 30 minutes a day, and well i'm sure you know all this by now lol i've had dals all my life :)

Yeah, I see a lot of people misspelling Dalmatian. NO O. I ahve had Dal's all my life too. Great dogs, "people pups" as my Dad would say. My current Dal, Rudy is the same way about food. The running like you said and teaching tricks are so important. they need the mental stim.

Males can be very aggressive even after being neutered. They make great watchdogs but do not befriend everyone they meet.
