Quinoa is an Incan super food/protein originated from PERU, highly regarded in that culture for its nutritional benefits. Just a quick fact, Thanks :)
nice idea, but if you want to make a healthy breakfast you might as well go all out and use no sugar, or organic raw honey instead. or maybe puree some frozen mixed berries with some soaked dates and mix that in for sweetness. you could also sprout the quinoa instead and mix in you own homemade nut milk which is actually really easy to make, It sounds complicated but its really not that much more time consuming that doing it this way :) also i think some vanilla and cardamom would be nice
Rocky, I tried this with Wild Rice. I did use the stuff I had. Used about 1/4 cup Soy milk, tea spoon of sunflower seeds, sliced almonds, 6 sultana, honey and frozen raspberry. I bought this rice few months ago from a ethnic shop & it was in a plastic bag without any cooking instructions.
I soaked the rice overnight & then just followed your instructions.
It came out really well, and the rice is different to brown rice because it had a nutty texture.
I'll have to try that. I'm an oatmeal fanatic, so I'd probably love it. I will use Splenda instead of sugar to keep it friendly for my gastric bypass system. I bet it's great!
I've never had Quinoa before. I bet this would be really tasty and just like Oatmeal....the different things to add to it are endless! Great video, Rocky! Thank you!
add TJ's sun dried tomatoes in olive oil (most of the oil drained out and tomatoes diced up into smaller pieces) and either the fat free feta or the TJ's parmesan cheese in the green cylindrical tub. It is SOOO yummy. We have it with everything from fish to chicken and steak. It is great warm or cold too! I like to wilt down some spinach and throw in some sliced chicken breast for a one-pot meal.
Shoot... forgot to mention... I use chicken or vegetable broth instead of water when I cook the quinoa... you get so much more flavor out of it that way!
Girl I just bought that at tj and so glad your making this I want to try on sat. I made mine with cheese but I think I will try your way woo hoo can't wait...thanks...love rosemary
I saw another Youtuber make a vid on Quinoa the other day and became very interested. She said it is classified as "the perfect protein." I"ll be giving this a try soon!

I heard Quinoa is actually a seed. Is that true? I tried sprouting mine and it was great. I added it to my kale salad. Yum.

@BLUESTAR1000ROX Yes. Quinoa is a seed, not a grain.

Quinoa is a wonderful source of protein - I'm glad it is more readily available now than it used to be.
