  • *Clips of Federer Owning Roddick Court Level

  • roddick will ever be a pusher

  • roddick was so overrated

  • this match up has to make you feel for andy. the points in this clip all remind me of hewitt vs djokovic, 2012 AO - so much effort, so little reward.

  • when federer was unbeatable

  • Roddicks forehand sucks a lot. Too much lift and it doesn't penetrate through the court.

  • @chrisak49 it doesnt loo good on tv and he does get passed on it by good players, but he has a huge forehand trust me,

  • @chrisak49 It's sad really...his forehand was better when he won the USO than it is now.

  • I love this angle too, but the reason it appears that they are hitting so hard is not the angle. The camera is sped up. If you dont believe me, try comaring it side by side to other camera angles, and the time between strokes will be very different.

  • Court-level footage is what usually makes average, high-school varsity types realize that the professional skill level is unreachably far away.

  • nice camera angle, cheerz

  • I don't like this camera angle. It makes me look like I'm playing against Federer and that scares me...

  • this is the good roddick not the bullshiter he is today

  • More like clips of Roddick getting owned...

  • OMG 0:25! What a genius shot that was...

  • haha fed won most of these points :D

  • a litter lover angel and it would be magical

  • I like his backhands more; they look artistic

  • fed at the end "yes!!". love that

  • i love how federer toys with roddick before hitting a winner

  • wow wat een rally,s

  • @stalkersaveme

    true

when his match started against djokovic in NY, I started to count his backhand mishits but I stopped quite soon. There were simply too many of them.

He has not lost his power or fitness. I guess it must be the eyes or his focus, plus the fact that the others have all improved. especially Nadal is constantly improving.

  • nice upload

  • Well post some Roddick winners too FCS

  • @Doggieman1111 well there aren't that many...

  • i love this angle... and wtf with roddicks footwork?! so slow compare to federer... but the strokes i think are better

  • @LaWRenZzzz111 excuse me ??? Federer unanimously (McEnroe, Borg,...and generally everyone in prof. tennis thinks so) has the best forehand ever

  • why isn't every single match broadcast from this angle

don't tell me this is too fast for the "mainstream" viewer

if i never had watched tennis before and i flicked by a channel with this playing i would be flipping shit god damn

  • how does this man return roddicks serves... wow...

  • I wish more matches were shown from this angle. Its so fun to watch, u can see everything that the players do

  • Last week, I was hitting the hell out of the ball and I started wondering how heavy those strokes were... they were indeed quite heavier than usual. Now that I see this, I think there is still much place for improvement.

They don't seem that good from high above, but court level is amazing.

  • who ever misses the tennis of the eighties or even nineties should watch this and shut up.

  • @ulizinho agreed.

  • @ulizinho perfectly true

  • @ulizinho cant diss the 90's. the 90's brought us to this era.

  • @cj397

truely spoken. I loved the 90s, I was a young man....

And concerning tennis: it was more diverse in the 90s, even though the level is getting higher now.

  • @ulizinho athleticism is definitely i mean no question at a higher level today than back then of course. but it's mostly due to the new easy-access to spin/power rackets these days allowing more players to play with the big boys, it's true.

  • @cj397

Yes, that is the main reason. But: the new possiblity to USE those rackets also FORCES the players to play differently. Before carbon rackets, players could not play heavy topspin, so they either had to advance to the net to finish, or, mainly on clay, they had to stay patient until the adverary commited an error.

With modern rackets, you can hit the killing angle not only from net position but also from baseline. Passingshots & returns are much easier, so netplay lost significance.

  • @cj397

atheleticism became more important in almost any sport, just look at soccer, F1, golf etc.

You can make so much money in pro sport that people do the most possible & competition became fiercer.

Whether modern players are more talented then players in the 70s will remain speculation, coz we have no timetravel machines. I pressume that there can´t be a giant leap in talent, as men can´t evolve on such a scale. So, I guess that modern players are equally talented as they were before.

  • @ulizinho

Its more fun to watch serve and volley versus the baseliner (Sampras-Agassi).

  • @ulizinho RIGHT ON!!! Tennis has come FULL CIRCLE!!! (meaning power plus aesthetic). I remember when in the 90s the complaint was it was all power. Everyone just ace-ing each other all the time. Now it's everything. And Fed is the King of it. Thanks for posting. I wish ALL tennis matches were shot at court level.

  • @ulizinho I disagree that tennis now is more interesting than with wood rackets. Sure its interesting how they hit hard; how quick and reflexive it is makes it much more entertaining intensively. But these clips involve Federer. In my opinion Federer is an unusually interesting player now adays. Take a match between say, Berdych and Djokovic, and it would be very boring, because players don't have to have interesting tactics or variety in their strokes. All you have to to is hit hard.

  • @ulizinho this is not what they hate i guess, probably the slower courts that benefit players like nadal

  • @ulizinho Not really. People have a problem with slowing down the courts, the increase in the size of the tennis balls, the grinding, hit to not miss sort of tennis. This is actually really good modern tennis, really attacking tennis. I appreciate both of these guys attacking games. They don't wait for errors (well, the pre 2008 Roddick anyway, today he is too much of a counter pouncher). Federer's game is just so beautiful to watch, I think fans from every era would agree w/me!.

  • man i love this camera angle!!!!!

    fedrer is just unbeleiveable

  • awesome!
