I am so pissed that nobody told me about this guy. I fell in love with his song Ascension when I was watching Love Jones. I now have all his albums and I have to say Maxwell's Urban Hang Suite is by far my favourite. I just wish I was introduced to him a LOT sooner!

stop it all stupid shit about maxwell being shy and wearing a rubber band, look at his art, it doesn't matter if he's shy or not, many talented people are this way, and we see many people pretty condifent on the stage just shouting nonsense and misbehaving.

Maxwell is so down to earth, so real on what he is saying, he doesn't speak a lot but all his words do have a meaning. How many of artists can boast with it?

I am a HUGE Maxwell fan. My comments were not meant to be derogatory in any fashion...just commenting on what other people have noticed, sort of like, "Girl, why is he wearing that?" or "Why did he....blahblah" We all make comments about things we notice about artists that we admire. I'm in total agreement with you about his ability to be REAL in what he's saying and his music stands alone in this era of big bass beats and lackluster lyrics.

I heard the old Tom Joyner radio interview(he did it over the phone) he said that he was dealing with stage fright and that it was pretty bad. Plus, its a known fact that Maxwell is shy...I just noticed the rubber band on some of his one-on-one interviews..saw the Tavis Smiley interview...he was wearing the rubber band on three fingers. *Disclaimer: THIS IS JUST MY OPINION, PEOPLE, NOT THE GOSPEL OF MAXWELL...LOL

Saw Maxwell at the Hammersmith Appollo in london in October, he simply blew my mind I was so hungry to see this g8 talent again that I saw him 2wks later at Brixton Academy, after that concert, I think I flew home like a bird after that mind blowing performance from this over talented artist. Its so evident how |Maxwell has evolved since his 7yr hiatus, he's not so shy, he's more confident, sexy and grown. His experiences of life has made him more humble and even more appreciative of his fans!

In no way is Bad Habits anything like Til the cops come knockin' videos, lyrics, and instrumental wise. TTCCK is basically about making love til the cops come knocking, lol. Thats all, no deeper meaning. Bad Habits is about a completely different story line, its about cheating but its almost like a drug and he cant stop. No hes not married lol. another thing. i don't like the bad habits video. i don't like it because i don't believe that the song is about what the video shows. when i 1st heard the song it didn't give me that feeling. now, the video is not bad. it's tasteful not too raunchy. i like kerry washington she is cool. the song could be about the video. i just don't think an artist like maxwell needs to sell himself like that. he should able to sell his songs off of this name. ppl like him and he is respected.

now, ppl need to understand that the music industry is not in a good place right now. the industry is loosing alot of money. and so many artist albums have been pushed back from release. maxwell's album release was pushed a few times from what i heard. also, i think that maxwell did do some performences a few yrs ago maybe back in 04 or 05. i do not think he intented to stay away for this long. like i said before the music industry in not in a good place right now.

this is what i think. i do believe that maxwell has a few girlfriends. but, i believe that now he is looking to settle down. i saw in concert last year in dc and it seemed like he was looking. i remember a few years ago hearing that he was engaged to be married. it probably didn't workout. also, about 3 yrs ago back in 06 i heard on that radio he submitted music for this album and his record company rejected it. maxwell had been working to come back out.
