These songs are great, the changing sound of their music shows strength in their own personal gain. They are showing they can do more than just the melancholy sound of sadness, but also music that will stick with you throughout a day.
I HATE when people say SWR sounds like Interpol. Interpol did not invent post-punk. If anything they're all taking after Joy Division,The Fall,Gang of Four, etc....way before Interpol. That said, I like all those bands. I don't see it as ripping off, more like a continuation of a style created in the late 70's. This song is tight.
@BurningOrchids I agree completely the one and only simularity I can see is the singers voices though I think SWR is alittle deeper, the music and sound between SWR and interpol are drastically different.

@iDiggMGL Same thing Happened with Garbage.. they used to make Dark music then they suddenly stopped one album... if they are going to follow the full trend of Garbage, this Album will probably have like 2-4 songs on it that you'll like but not love, and ignore the rest, wish it was like their previous two albums only to wait for a 4th album that completely sucks and has nothing to do with the band you fell in love with on Album 1.
I dunno about that. I hear the same ol' SWR in ValleyHeart. The tempo in the songs are different but the messages of sex lust and bad decisions still comes thru in this album I say.
Yes, I heard them play Kiss Me last year too, kinda liked it, maybe because it was live. I also thought that would be the only song like that on the album since bands usually put a slow song or a rock'ish ballad. I had no clue there would be 3 other similar songs on the album. I heard SWR say in an interview that Valleyheart was more SWR than any other album, I literally gasped, I was shocked! "Not just a girl" is not good. I cannot believe "Must be the one" is the #1 song on iTunes for them

I have to say last year when i saw them play a small show they played kiss me i really liked it, maybe its because i thought it was going to be the only song like it on the album but after the album came out i think i was looking for the older type stuff. Holiday song grew on me after hearing it a few times pretty sad song. I didnt care much for not just a girl, kinda seems forced .s

Both of those songs that are your favorites are great! They're pretty dark & hard with an awesome beat. So, how do you feel about those 4 softer songs "Kiss Me", "Not just a girl", "Holiday song", and "Must be the one"? I'm not feeling them :( But the other 6 songs from Valleyheart are really good!
I love this song, it's got a lil Depeche Mode to it which is great! I don't like the 4 soft songs on the album though :( They are too poppy and mainstream for my personal taste in music.

She Wants Revenge (Album) was amazing.
This is Forever was pretty good.
Valleyheart almost sounds like a different band. This song sounds good but there are too many upbeat songs. I liked their old, unique sound.
