A woman did this in TX. A neighbor reported it and the authorities took it because it was against city code. Because she took the doe across state lines they euthanized it to make sure it didn't have some disease. I was so mad when I saw the story on TV. Heartless bastards.

Kudos for them raising the sick little deer. It stayed because fawns do what is known as imprinting, when they develop a sense of the mother or caregiver. this also happens with dogs and some birds.

the only thing i'm not ok with is the way they feed it, they can make it very sick by giving it these foods.

But, if this deer is living with humans, she will live longer than in the wild. That's what some people don't bloody get.

Luckily they are not in NC. Few years back a family rescued one and once it was healed Animal Control came, took it and put it down. Said it is against the law to own wild animals as a pet. That was just so hearbreaking. I don't understand why they didn't take it to the zoo at least.

Dogs are just wolves and other wild canines that would walk up to humans and bred with another one who would go near humans over and over. And there are many animals that go "ballistic" but have reason. The chimp probably attacked her because she smiled at him(to chimps smile /w teeth=fight to death.
