Poor Sarah!!! an elephant that recently collapsed in Anaheim... She tumbled off the ramp and landed on her side and was found to be very fatigue. When the trainers yelled at her she instantly urinates and defecated on herself out of so much fear. Her vet claimed that the animals weren't being treated. Also, the exotic pet trade has guaranted the survival of most animals that will be lost in the wild and has given a second chance for reintroduction when the time is right!

I was an assistant trainer for Ringling. I will admit that there were a few bad trainers and they were reported by me and fired quickly. Training rules have become alot more humane in the last 10 years. Now the animals only do five shows a month and they are rotated in between shows. Also, Ringling has five HUGE ranches in the U.S. alone along with several more world wide they only do six months of shows a year, then are rotated for a six month break. Go to the circus take your kids have fun!

Poor Sarah!!! an elephant that recently collapsed in Anaheim... She tumbled off the ramp and landed on her side and was found to be very fatigue. When the trainers yelled at her she instantly urinates and defecated on herself out of so much fear. Her vet claimed that the animals weren't being treated. Despite the fact the animals are currently being mistreated and humiliated, they are also not getting medical treatment.

@circusboy90210 im sure a its not in a dog's interest to be in this society where the animals are being discriminated and 30,000 dogs being turned down, euthanized, and placed in gas chambers in the dog pounds. The only save and secured place to be is fostered by ppl that care, because they dont really have a choice, especially since they are raised domesticated. Yes dogs are smart because they share characteristics and expressions similar to ours but so are other animals.

These animals do more for conservation than anything you see on Animal Planet, because they along with zoos let kids see these animals up close and understand what a loss it would be if the went extinct. How many kids decided to devote their lives to conservation from a circus show or a school trip to a zoo? LOTS I'm sure! Also, the exotic pet trade has guaranted the survival of most animals that will be lost in the wild and has given a second chance for reintroduction when the time is right!

When Ringling first started, over 100 years ago, there were over 100,000 Asian elephants worldwide. Now there are approximately 30,000, and they are considered endangered. If circuses and zoos helped promote conservation why have animals, such as Asian elephants, tigers, chimpanzees and gorillas become endangered since the circuses and zoos have been using them?

I was an assistant trainer for Ringling. I will admit that there were a few bad trainers and they were reported by me and fired quickly. Training rules have become alot more humane in the last 10 years. Now the animals only do five shows a month and they are rotated in between shows. Also, Ringling has five HUGE ranches in the U.S. alone along with several more world wide they only do six months of shows a year, then are rotated for a six month break. Go to the circus take your kids have fun!

The "training" is as brutal as ever; "trainers" caught beating the elephants still work for Ringling; the animals perform more than five shows in a weekend, with no rotation of animals (check Ringling's schedule online); Ringling does not have five huge ranches in the US or worldwide; and the animals perform more than six months a year (again check Ringling's schedule online).

Ringmaster John Lee was quoted at least twice with the 12 million annual attendance number. If you think the 12 million attendance number is wrong then you think Lee is lying. I was there learning everyday, I literaly almost starve a few times learning to sell novelty items.
