  • is this half step down or full step or what? im confused!?!

  • @Kommando786 full step. he i playing in the E position, but the key is D minor.

  • the drummer is from PAUL MACA of BEATLES fame and its in D but Eric tuned down to d so he plays in E band in D like Hendrix original, wish this drummer was on CROSSROADS vids awsome ,Mitch,s drums fantastic on LADYLAND

  • Thanks for posting this. I just heard the album version the other night and almost died. The Hendrix/Winwood version off ELL is one of my all time favorite pieces of music.

  • Great Eric is my Guitar Hero !

I have a t-shirt Clapton is God , and the people look and dont understand what this means because im my country the people dont know the God British Patrick Clapton.

If you wanna a channel with the best videos of clapton and others bands click on my picture you will acess my channel , and you can see they videos.

  • INSTALE ADOVE FLASH PLAYER, Y AUN ASI NO HE PODIDO VER LOS VIDEOS. QUE PASA CON USTEDES ?

  • lol isnt that mccartneys drummer?

  • @GuitarMaster6567 Yes, session musician type drummer. Played with lots of well known names.

  • Mesmerizing performance!

I like this as much as the original on Hendrix's "Electric Ladyland". Very bluesy.

  • I am a fan of Clapton sinds the 60 ,but heard this song the first time at the concert at the Gelredome on 29-05-2010 ,And i cant get enough of the song. Now i am glad theres U-tube and find a lot more of his music .

  • Clapton is God!!!!!

  • Thank you for this vid.

EC far away in the zone here. Winwood, as ever , brilliant.

    R.

  • Can anyone tell me who the drummer is in this video?

    thanks

  • @jonbdan Abe Laboriel, Jr.

  • @evanguy thats the guy whos at the time playing with paul mccartney, right?

  • @evanguy,so the drummer is the one who play with Paul Mccartney?

    And when that happened?

    sorry for the bad English

  • @jonbdan - great drummer. he plays drums for Paul McCartney. Not sure if he still does but he did for a long time. You can see him on the last couple of dvd's Macca did.

  • @senseitim328 yes he's still with Paul, he played in Brazil a couple weeks ago. A fantastic drummer.

  • @jonbdan me

  • @jonbdan I was really impressed by this guy. Brilliant is'nt he It's the first time I'd seen Abe!!

  • I have this whole concert in glorious HD. ;)

  • This is Voodoo Chile - great version by E.C.

also check out his version of Little Wing

  • just shows you so far ahead of his time Jimi was. Clapton is a schooled blues player. Jimi was from another universe.

  • just can say: voodoo chile!!!!

  • I love this but think the version at madison Sq gardens is better, I also saw them play at birmingham this year and it was quite possibly the best thing i've ever heard!!!

  • enjoyable. they seem to enjoy playing it. clapton demonstrates his limitations here not a very intense player, more stylized and melodic. this solo sounds alot like many of his others.

  • @owenswift

    limitations... not intense player...

    bullshit!

you got no music sensibility, taste and knowledge

watch this and you'll realize that clapton is trully a "intense" player

  • Eric Clapton's beast at guitar

  • i was there. mindblowing is an understatement.

  • is this voodoo chile (slight return) or voodoo child?

'cause I cant find tabs for this one nowhere..

  • @OMERTA011

It's actually called "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)." With a "d." And no, this isn't the same song. "(Slight Return)" is much shorter and is pretty distinctive because Hendrix used the wah-wah pedal. You can find videos of Stevie Ray Vaughan playing it on this site.

  • @evanguy so that's what I thought.. Im searching for the first version...

    thanks

  • @evanguy i believe the pedal was called the Crybaby pedal.

  • @timothyfloogle That's a brand name.

  • just voodoo chile, not slight return@OMERTA011

  • Its called voodoo chile with an "e", its off of electric lady land. Voodoo child (slight return) is off electric lady land also. @OMERTA011

  • @OMERTA011 This is Voodoo chile not voodoo child(slight Return)

  • @OMERTA011 Send me a message. I believe I have the tab. It's in PDF though

  • yeeeah....thats what I'm talking abount....Love Clapton :>:>:>:D:D....nice one evanguy :>

  • woooow cooll that's veryyyy greaaat =D

  • yesterday, concert eric clapton & steve winwood, they played this.

    I never felt happier before!

  • Amazing Clapton was god winwood was king, first time I've been to the lg was really impressed by the venue. To be fair though it couldve been a bedsit in the rougher part of rough claptons sound wouldve made it the ritz.

  • his drummer also plays with macca...lol

  • That's great!!!! Where did you take this video, I can't find it anywhere!!!! THX for sharing it, I love EC

  • @ciclosonico

I filmed it myself at the concert. The screen you see was one of the big video monitors.

  • does clapton play this song with his strings tuned a full step down, because i know that he plays it in the key of D but hes plaing it as if it were in the key of E position?

  • yup

  • Even the crowd come in at the right times!!!!!!!

  • magic day today , got the tickets for his concert on may 23 and ordered my fender stratocaster 2 dreams one day.

Love this song I've listened to the original track a million times , great too see this song live and even greater to see it with these 2 legends.

  • always was fan of Jimi, always was fan of Stevie and always was fan of Eric... so this is super!!!!!!!!!!

  • I was there

  • excellent. it's great to see this song in a distinctive clapton sound. much "cleaner" than the original (and i don't mean that in a negative way to either jimi or clapton)

  • @smellygonorrhea420 clapton is not as flamboyant as jimi was, but i do believe he plays cleaner

  • Clapton plays it as well as I thought he would. Would like to see him have a go at slight return lol

  • Love the Hendrix tone. Just like the original Voodoo Chile

  • Great Filming!

  • Fantastic post, Thank you !

  • Love the Clapton!
