I guess what none of these people realize is that percentages more than 100% do, in fact, exist. Just as angles more than 360 degrees exist. 1000% would just be the equivalent of 10 "yes"s. Perhaps Kimmel's writing staff and all the excited dumbasses on yubtub should l2math.
@AutoTunedSoul You should have stopped while you were ahead. Percentages over a 100% exist. Angles over 360 do not. The difference is that you can't have two different percentages that represent the same thing. 10% isn't the same as 110%. Angles wrap at 360 is describing angles above 360 is useless and "don't exist". Furthermore in this context more than 100% does not exist because the rather ignorant judge in question can only give a single yes.
@linksafendanvooruit - Angles over 360 degrees definitely exist. You can calculate any trig function of any angle of any imaginable value. If it can be used in a calculation then it exists. And I was simply commenting on how these people think it's a mathematical travesty to say something like "1000%". Nobody complained when he said "a thousand times yes". That's just an exaggeration and people can deal with it. But when it's expressed as a percentage (100,000% in this case), people freak.
@AutoTunedSoul - Sorry, part of that is wrong. There are values in tangent and the inverse functions that cannot be calculated. But those values are not related to being more than 360 degrees. What I meant is really that an angle being more than 360 degrees does not mean it doesn't exist.
you can have a percent that is over 100
3 is a 200% increase of 1
