  • Awesome vid, great amp and cool sounding fx, what's the delay you are using? Brings U2 to mind in opinion, that early stuff I mean, ever heard of the docu: It Might Get Loud? If not check it out. Cheers!

  • How strange I found a post from 10-15-2009 on my lespaul dot com that shows the same head even down to the same name on the face plate.

Only difference is that the owner states that the conversion was done by Tony Krank.

You can find it by going to that forum and searching for:

FS/FT - 100W Plexi Head Built By Tony Krank

Odd, but true. Check it out.

  • @DocRocz @DocRocz The amp had been converted into a 100W Marshall before I got it. I ripped everything out and built a stock DR103. Pics here: huntamps.com/projects/sound-city-pa-120-hiwatt-dr/

  • @HuntAmplification Ah, I was only going by what you stated for the clip. "Sound City PA I converted into a 120W Hiwatt DR103.".

Ok, so it is the same head.

At any rate you have done a fantastic job.

"minor change in the preamp grounding based on the advice of the late Ken Fischer".

How is it that you came across this advice? Yes, I'm a very curious person.

  • @DocRocz Right out of the Trainwreck Pages.

  • @HuntAmplification Ah, as I would have thought you would have gotten the advise from the ampgarage.

  • sounding nice, i have a 70s sound city 120 guitar amp with 6 el34s, so if i take four of them out it drops the wattage to 50?

  • @setantii Actually I did measure it with just 2 EL34s and it made over 70W. With all 6 it made almost 140W clean.

  • lovely sound m8 spectacular !
