  • i'm not - or didn't know i was - a swing fan, but these guys actually blow my mind! them playing this is more punk than any punk band i've seen in a long time. love it.

  • oooo reminds me of the princess and the frog soundtrack

*stands up and dances the charleston*

  • This song makes me feel good all over.......whatever that means :)

  • Sorry about the shameless plugging, but if you like stuff like this try listening to 'shaker and the egg' Old School Lovin'. Its on soundcloud, swing revival :) as good as this.

  • It's sad how my generation's music is so revolting.

I'm 15, and I only listen to 90's rock, or jazz and swing.

This is probably my favorite song. <3

  • @AccurateMistake Geez, what a crippled taste in music you have. Maybe remove your arbitrary blinders, there's a whole wide world out there

  • I saw them at the MN Zoo in 2007. Jimbo was the coolest guy I've ever met.

  • Awesome song!

  • ...how have I never heard of this band before?!

  • @MovingTarget85 That is the same thing I was thinking about a month ago. I'm happy you've finally found it!

  • My 3 year loves SNZ. She tells me through out the day. Mommy play squirrel zippers! she can't quit say it yet. so cute. Se doesn't like Heavy Metal but loves swing.

  • @Velvetdrummer we have a 2 year old girl and she loves swing and rockabilly like her dad (me) lol !! she really likes it when i play my 78s and my vinyl records and she has a good sized collection of her own already !! u should check out my channel i think ur daughter would enjoy it / hope 2 hear from u .

  • furry burger

  • I love this band!!! As I am reconnecting with alot of my music, I forgot how good these guys are!!! WOW! Love swing!

  • I LOVE THIS BAND!!!!!!!

  • sounds like some of my saturday morning cartoons i used to watch......

  • This sounds like the soundtrack to an old cartoon from the 30s or 40s. The music has always been my favorite part of those old toons.

  • O.....M.....G what is this great band I have just discovered?

  • @audreyjeandreamer :D The best band ever.

    Squirrel Nut Zippers FTW

  • :- D Good stuff!

  • Adoration <3 Do you think you can put one up for Trou Maccq ??

  • nuts+zipper=ouch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @shazzaman1 I will never listen to this band the same again :P

  • Hey y'all - it's Tom Maxwell, former Zipper. I'm writing a memoir about my time in the band and my son's (successful) battle with cancer. You can go to the Kickstarter website and search my name and support the book if it sounds good to you.

  • I play this song every time I go and eat somewhere on a per diem.

  • big band blows ..lmao !

  • @Jumbofry Kill yourself.

  • @Jumbofry Rimshot!

  • @Jumbofry Then go listen to Dubstep and let those with taste appreciate this wonderful band.

  • Jmac when you lived in whislter, and we all came up there and partied at buffalo bills

I gave the dj this Cd and it got the party started, such fun, the rollin' 90's

  • I remember the YKK Crisis...

You all went out to party your lights out... thinking you were clever.

  • i need a dance partner!

  • @janakovacs if you can lead or follow i'll dance with you :D

  • @Freeborn88 lets's do this! lol

  • @janakovacs i swing in Arizona so... where do you swing out from?

  • @Freeborn88 new mexico (^ ^)

  • @janakovacs so funny thing... i will be in NM for some blues dancing

  • i bought this brand new back in the summer of 98 !! man time flies

  • Okay, that does it!! I'm about to jump up out of this chair and start doin' the Charleston!!!!

  • This makes me so happy. It makes me want to dance myself off a table. Or something.

  • Amazing! I love it so much! This song is really a good mood Pill !

  • this is some of my favorite big band music

  • My all time fac song this is. always makes me smile when I hear it.

  • squirrel is squirrel amazin band ♥

  • The lead sing sounds like Top Cat, and that is not a bad thing at all. Sounds like something he'd sing.

  • @Wargoat6 man u hit the nail right on the head lol i never thought about it but ill be damn he sure does lol

  • pip pip cheerio

  • i wish i was alive during the 'zoot suit' and flapper days. i really hate the times we live in today.

  • @JennelleBelle

I agree!!! Those were THE times!!! At least there are still people out there making this type of music =]

  • @JennelleBelle Couldn't agree with you more. Those times look like way too much fun.

  • Definitely a dying genre of music. Glad to know there's a group of peeps out there who know how to keep on swingin.

  • peachy keen hepcat

  • awesom...

  • one of my favorite songs of all time

  • swing hein

  • @shazzaman1 Ahem..I believe it's SWING HEIL.

  • The bit starting at 1:01 sounds a heck of a lot like something Bix Beiderbecke might have done.

One reason I enjoy SNZ is their use of so many styles, swing, jazz, rock, even klezmer. No matter what the style, they're fun.

Describing them as a novelty group might be more accurate than swing.

  • omg i love this song!

  • Heute höre ich zum ersten Mal einige Songs dieser tollen Band und bin restlos begeistert!!! Davon bekomme ich so schnell nicht genug! Himmlischer Sound!

  • sounds like swing

  • this aint ska

    its jazz

  • @themostexalted no its SWING! snz and theSPEAKEASIES SWING BAND are the best swing bands in the world!

  • @panoszoo swing is a form of jazz..

  • @themostexalted really??? oh i didn't knew it..clever boy! so this song is swing!and tha is what i said before. what you said doesnt make any sense,i knew it!

    sorry for my english!

  • @themostexalted You're absolutely right. Music/dance history lesson, short version: With the switch from two-beat to four-beat, and the upright bass for tuba, jazz evolved away from the big band sound. The corresponding dances also opened up into more creative and individualized forms. Jazz was broken into "sweet jazz" and "hot jazz." Particularly energetic and good music was called "swinging", and that's where we get "swing" from.

  • THIS IS THE SHIT!!!!

  • one of their best songs! classic...i'm waiting for a comeback!

  • I probably would have been a Ska fan if the Ska fans that I knew weren't a bunch of absolutely pretentious pricks who thought that Ska was the end-all-be-all of music. They constantly trashed me for liking Classic Rock, which pretty much turned me away from them for good.

  • @loqutor I adore ska, but I love other types of music too. Whoever those people are are dumb. Don't let them ruin your taste in music, or the genre they supposedly stand for. That said, these guys are swing. :) Swing revival, to be exact. I love them! They actually inspired the lead singer/writer of Streetlight Manifesto, a ska band.

  • @Jaiexx Weird thing is, Tomas classifies Streetlight as "Hardcore Jazz" and doesn't see his work as Ska. It's weird to think that they arn't ska, but at the same time his discription makes sense.

  • @loqutor I love ska. I hate ska fans.

  • i never met ANY ska kids like that, chaos punks are like that though but all of the ska kids i know are always nice

  • @punker333 Maybe their being Ann Arbor kids had more to do with it than their being Ska kids.

  • oh those guys, i've heard about them hell i didnt know michigan had a ska scene, indy rude boys were always nice

  • I just started listening to these guys today thanks to Streetlight Manifesto's cover of "Hell". They're phenomenal! I'd heard their name before and I regret not taking a listen sooner. I'd love to hear one of their songs put in Bioshock.

  • @TheSidewalkCipher haha that's exactly what I was thinking. have you heard the ghost of stephen foster? it'd be perfect

  • shame on you all who forgot about SNZ. Just saw them last month =]

  • why did swing/ska/big band kinda die out??? I miss this era from the 90's!!!! Sure beat the gangsta and yeehaw trends!!!

  • I'd forgotten about this song until it was in that ketchup commercial from a few months ago.

  • It so fun singing this song!!!

  • this band is my love

  • This group is,and was, incredible. I miss them very much and wish they had continued on. A friend and I had the great chance to see them live once and it was a show un-like any other. What talented and dedicated musicians they were- taking up a mixture of music not seen in pop music- ever! Brilliant group well-deserving of all of their fine accolades!!

  • Until today, I'd never heard of the Squirrel Nut Zippers. They're great! I've always LOVED this type of music.

  • !!!!!!!! Fantastici! Wonderful! !!!!!!

  • BARI SAX RULES!

  • @hillbillycadillac YES IT DOES! I play bari sax in jazz band, and we're playing this song! it kicks ass

  • I'm SO glad they're cleaning up on royalties. Great band. They deserve it.

  • Whoo! I figured out how to play this on my Bari sax!

  • i love squirrel nut zippers. i saw them in concert yesterday. it was and music festival and after they were done with there set they walked around the field with just a trombone cornet tuba and some percusion. it was awsome.

  • I love everything this is.

  • This song was on the Heinz Ketchup Commercial! It is AWESOME!! XD

  • @AlmightySparks I know! I was in shock when I heard it, I didn't think anyone listened to this...I screamed for my mom and had to rewind it because she didn't believe me, lmao

  • No matter how much I listen to this song, it never gets old. LOVE IT <3

  • The candy aint bad either..:)

  • i danced to this song. it was really fun. we were waitresses and there were guys and it was a tap dance. and we had really cool silver sparkly tables.

  • I just heard this song in a Heinz Ketchup commercial

  • OMG! me tooo... ive been looking for that damn commercial

  • I can easily picture seeing this band in a smoke filled room of some road house in the 1930's. The sound is so authentic. Perennial Favorites unquestionably captures the spirit of a 1930's jazz orchestra.

  • why is this band so good? are they making a new record?

  • 最高にいい曲ですね

  • Gotta love these guys.

  • Oh gawsh, I've missed this. ;____;

    Thanks for uploading. =D

  • is awesome

  • i love this song...

  • Brilliant song.
