  • Good work! It shows how extremely different is the pronunciation of vowels, specially the "o" vowel and the "r" sound between UK and North America. Anyone learning to fake a British accent, should study this first!

  • no they aren't. schwas of station, element, kitchen and turned vs of cut, sun, bus are quite different.

  • it´s not only a matter of stress!..Actually, they are pronounced differently. Certain organs of articulation are in different position for the sound realisation. They may sound the same for the untrained ear.
