As an American and a white man I must say to all the Guatemalan's, I am so sorry for our endeavors in your country during the Arbenz days and the decades of military dictators that followed. You must understand how much of a burden this leaves upon me, here in the 21st century.

If it is any consolation, let it be known, that the people are becoming conscious and are working towards the days in which we do not profit from slave labor in any country in Latin America.

Sadly, current events that continue to denigrate (e.g., Palmer Raids 1917) remind that some "evil-doers" continue to exists, that NOT much has changed. The Bush admin created The Ultimate Attribution Error enmeshing Muslim with Immigrant Terrorists. Thank GOD 4 Obama!
