i was so sad before i heard this song and now im soooo happy! :D and it made me happier cause it sounds like he's saying my name in this song too <3 thank you Michael
@sda1225@elpumota well I've never seen it on broadway, nor have I read the book & I thought is was great...how dare u dis a wonderfully talented person like Diana Ross, the crap u 2 r saying is disrespectful & frankly, nobody cares about what u 2 think...the movie was great...& casting Michael Jackson & Diana Ross in it made it all the more fantastic...besides having an entirely black cast...It looked a whole lot better than the other one as well...so shut up!!
@elpumota, I COULDN'T AGREE WITH YOU MORE!!! I thought that as a teen and even MORE now! Diana Ross was HORRIBLE!!! Stephanie Mills should've been in this without even thinking twice. Heck, she had already done it on broadway so for me, that should've been a no brainer. Damn, how old was Diana? 34, 35? But she was bangin Gordy @ the time so go figure.
Just saw this movie. Truth is it ain't that good for 2 reasons: One was having Sidney Lumet direct it. The guy was a great dramatic director, but he sure was not the best fit for a musical, the film just turned out way too campy.
But the thing that made this movie not great was Diana Ross as Dorothy. How the heck could they not know that casting a 30 year old as Dorothy (originally a 6 year old in the book) would hurt the film so much?
Loved this film although it scared the poop out of me. And 'Ease On Down the Road' is a classic. As a kid I could never work out what Diana Ross had done with all her hair.
Did Toto eat it or was it the work of that Wicked Witch of the West?
An even bigger mystery is why Miss Ross who reigns as the Queen of Weaves (and indeed inspired my own 'hair' style) allowed herself to have such an unflattering 'fro. It looked tired and angry - perched there on a head like a little plate.
@topkkat i agree. it did kind of put people off seeing her hair like that. her slong hair straightened would have been perfect. mind you, she was portraying a shy, introverted person.
My 5th grade class is seperating this into beritone, soprano, and alto and I am soprano! LOve this song though! RIP MJ!
