So, are ya saying, amongst other things, that the claws aren't supposed to be expected to perform based on digging in as much as to fit in the 'tread pattern' of the bark ?
@BatmanProject777 Actually they were "supposed to be" a climbing assistance with spikes small enough to not be seen so that your enemy won't know you have something in hand/foot that could be used as a weapon. There were other much larger climbing spikes and tools used. These were to double as an easily concield weapon, and I am just noting that they only work well for climbing on certain kinds of trees.
I have heard ninja would sometimes jam a fruit "pit" on the end of there spikes for many reasons.... as you said in your video, the spikes can dull from walking... the pit protects (all 4 don't always stay), and it keeps the sound down if you must cross a hard surface, wood floor, etc.
Do you have any images you can PM me or maybe a short video showing how to properly tie these? I got a pair, and I want to connect it to a regular pair of tennis shoes or boots...But, Every way i tried (using nylon rope) I cant seem to get them to stay on. Hopefully size 12 isnt too big XD
@PhxSt0rmz I check comments along with pms so comments are just as good. In order to *properly* tie them you'd need tabi and mountainous has a video out for that. I can tie them to shoes fairly well so I'll make a video responce showing how I do it maybe in a week when I have some time to make it.
@WaiteDavidMSPhysics Thanks, for now at least I would like to have them work on regular shoes. I'll keep a look out for the video, or you can maybe give ms a notice. Either way, thanks for taking the time to do so! Good luck ; )
@smartman136 I imagine a good welder and machinist could easily make them fairly easily, but it would be easier still just to buy them. The feet spikes are strait. They're better sharp but don't need to be super sharp at all.
@ChivesMeg You use your legs as well as your arms as you see me doing so it won't be as hard as using just your arms to pull yourself up. Just like anything physical, you practice to get stronger and better.
@SuperlampProductions I'd say it partly depends on the kind of tree. The large healthy tall pines are easy for me, but any trees may be to hard for anyone that is significantly overweight.

@hackingtime88 I'll consider it. The easy way is a short responce though. A belt sander works well.

Would they be hard to make with the right stuff? Do they have to be super sharp? And are the feet spikes curved in any way

Where can i get one for me?

@KrouchKauai I'm sure you can still get cheapies from places like AWMA or century, or google search for more antique style spikes.

Hey, do you have to have the ninja shoes to wear the foot spikes????
BatmanOfTheFuture1 1 year ago
@BatmanOfTheFuture1 I have them, but the feet claws were working fine with the high traction nike free shoes I was wearing in the video.
