However, they have 2 seasons to make it happen so... who knows!

I also hated that Rita was killed, but you get used to it.

In my opinion, Dexter will never have feelings for Deb. And if it happened, it would be awfully weird for everyone. All characters (and viewers) think of them as siblings. No matter if they're not.

It looks to me as if they wanted Deb to have a nervous breakdown and leave the show...

I always felt there was weird tension between the two, but I told myself it was just between the actors since they were married at one time. But if you look at the entire preview for the episode, um, it's DEFINITELY implying something. I guess we should all prepare ourselves for weirdness?

I cant remember what episode it was in, when deb is talking about herself and the ice truck killer. and if you look back at the part when the therapist say "we don't pick are partners randomly" shes implying that deb dated the ice truck killer cause shes looking for a concretion with another killer, such as Dexter cause shes missing that connection. just like women who have abusive fathers are more likely to have abusive relationships.

I think what the therapist means by this is that Debra compares every man that she becomes romantically involved with to Dexter. It's perfectly normal to choose partners that remind us of our fathers for girls, and mothers for boys. As she was never close to her father, she compares them to Dexter. I also think that she is dependent on him, and she knows deep down that he'll always support her so maybe she feels what she has with Dexter is enough.

@Choloz22 I don't think anyone with a relatively normal upbringing looks for a partner as such. It's something that happens to some people without you even realising it, one of those post-Freudian theories about sexual development.

To keep a secret like this HUGE, they need to be commited to each other 100% or even more. Deb cannot have a separate life on her own knowing what Dexter is just doing in the moment. She will be on alert like 24 hours a day and can never have a happy life. Deb risks everything by covering up for dexter, not just her job ( for which she has been working very hard) but her life as well. If Dex turns out to be a serial killer she will be the Number 1 accomplice and probably faces imprisonment.

Debra and Dexter are siblings because Harry back then signed a piece of paper called the adaptation form. Deb and Dexter could terminate their currant status any time they want by the same way. I don't know why people are whining about this. It is just pathetic.

I think deb is gonna realize this therapist is full of shit. Though the way she talks about dexter is weird i dont think they could ever have or want a relationship...she really just needs a friend and she lost the rest of the crew being lieutenant and now dexter is more absent than usual even.
