Obama's call to a new (green, renewable - whatever) energy future and energy security was not initiated with this speech... which is ~sort of~ implied.

In fact, it was one of his central themes in the Presidential campaign, has been a part of the global warming rhetoric, and has been often brought up in discussions of other issues, like war(s) in the middle east.

PBS doesn't have to jump on any bandwagon. But to leave the above implication "out there" is an error in fact.

it's definitely an attack on the president. and politicians definitely are racist. they keep "slipping up" and saying really racist things. i feel like, if money wasn't so important, this planet's people and resources could have fixed the problem within a week. if money didn't guide every decision we make, we'd take the necessary time to do things the right way. As a people we're just rushing towards chaos for the sake of competition and preserving wealth.

Politicians are not racist as a group. Money is not the problem. Democratic Policies are to blame for the economy and for the evironmental laws which force Oil companies to drill 5000 feet beneath the oceans for oil, a shallow water drill site would have been repaired long ago, and avoided the catastrophy we now see on our shores in the GoM

so what did obama accomplish in this? so far he took 20 billion away from BP and didnt do anything himself. who cares about race. actions speak louder than words and i havent heard of any actions from him that made the oil stop. just from saying "i take responsibility for the oil" doesnt make it stop. btw he took veteran's day off to go on vacation and didnt honor the soldiers at the graveyard so he's a commie. no wonder congress doesnt like him.
