This is clear propaganda. There are standards that have to be followed. Yes, there are some factories out there that don't follow those regulations, and when exposed, are shut down or forced to comply. To say that people shouldn't eat meat because a small minority of slaughterhouses break the rules is like saying there should be no guns because a minority of people break the rules with them.

Today...In Socials I asked everyone if they knew where there meat came from. The only replies were "slaughterhouses" but that was only something they've heard of. We really have to raise awareness of just where our meat really comes from-for ourselves, for the animals, and for the planet, even for our future.

@Metalmack95 What many of my friends have done is to gradually decrease their meat intake by substituting plant based foods that they do like. Pick a day or 2 a week - eat no meat at all... In a month, increase the days, etc. In six months time you will have adapted to make meaningful change. You are wrong though if you think we will die without meat... In fact, the damage to health and planet will kill us much faster. Best to focus on changes you CAN make & be happy. ;)

@farztorres On the plants:IF plants do feel terror, pain, etc. We would still be justified in eating them as this is the bare MINIMUM we have for survival.But plants are not sentient & have no central nervous system- So it's VERY, VERY doubtful they can "suffer".Anyway, if one is concerned with plant "pain" they would still opt for a veg diet as eating the plants directly, instead of filtering them through fattened animals first would cause *less* harm. I've been a vegetarian for over 6 years (I'm 15 years old, so it's a long time for me) and still, knowing the truth about how animals are brutally murdered, this video almost gave me a heart attack.
@DrKyure the immorality is not with the eating of animals. it is with the way they are bred, fed, caged, killed and mass produced. if a cow grew up in a field living off natural substance and it was killed for food. it would be a completely different argument. that's what happens in the wild. animals pumped with chemicals and fed anything going including faeces and corpses of other animals is not the natural cycle of life. there are loads more reasons research into it if you're interested.

My intentions are not to make anyone angry or offend anyone; however, I don't think that people know the whole story. First the video starts by showing a cow being hit in the center of the head with a pressurized pin that knocks that animal out so the animal does not feel anything after this point. Also, almost all cattle, sheep, chicken, and pork producers treat their animals very humanely. But organizations like PETA only show the few cases/videos when animals are miss-treated. @meringandan There is no such thing as humane slaughter,the animal 9 times out of 10 is NOT stunned properly and is still concious when its throat is cut, to make matters worse many are not left to bleed out for long enough either and cows are still conscious when they are skinned and have their feet cut off and pigs are going into the scalding tank when they are still conscious too ,undercover footage in slaughterhouses proves this .Think about that while youre munching on your nice juicy meat
@sallyb4441 I used to work in a slaughter house I know what happens there, most times the animal is stunned properly the processors have to do the job properly and abide by a strict code of practice to keep their licenses and export accreditation that means following correct slaughter procedures as part of their animal welfare code of practice they could not remain in business if they didn't.
Macdonalds would not buy from a processor who did not follow its animal welfare policy.
I am not a Vegetarian and not planning on becoming one, but this just broke my heart. I have no problem with eating meat and it isnt barbaric or unethical to eat it. Yes is cruel what they are doing to some of these animals before they kill them for food. It does happen but most meat eaters I don't think they even think about this when they are eating meat. Neither do I. Peta's idea of "cruel" though is that any animal being mistreated and not having "rights" and PETA IS trying to scare people into not eating meat. They always look for the most disgusting and worst slaughter house places to film and treat it as if they all look and operate the same.

But just because you support an organizatation does not mean you are like every other activist that supports it as well. Every person has a different strategey, and certain lines they won't cross. To imply that every activist of a similar group is the same, or behaves the same way, is absurd. I agree that there are better organizations to support, such as Mercy for Animals, or Vegan Outreach.
As much as we do not need meat to survive, alot of people do like it. I myself am carnivorous. However, I do NOT believe in the cruel execution of animals, if you want to kill somthing make sure the poor thing had at least a decent life, and a very short death. Killing animals like people do in china (the poor things are still moving while being fried, or after being skinned) is somthing you vegans should be more focused on. Meat production in the US will probably never stop, But cruelty can.

Yes, there are some factories out there that don't follow those regulations, and when exposed, are shut down or forced to comply. @Metalmack95 What many of my friends have done is to gradually decrease their meat intake by substituting plant based foods that they do like. Pick a day or 2 a week - eat no meat at all... In a month, increase the days, etc. In six months time you will have adapted to make meaningful change. You are wrong though if you think we will die without meat... In fact, the damage to health and planet will kill us much faster. Best to focus on changes you CAN make & be happy. ;)

@farztorres On the plants:IF plants do feel terror, pain, etc. We would still be justified in eating them as this is the bare MINIMUM we have for survival.But plants are not sentient & have no central nervous system- So it's VERY, VERY doubtful they can "suffer".Anyway, if one is concerned with plant "pain" they would still opt for a veg diet as eating the plants directly, instead of filtering them through fattened animals first would cause *less* harm. My intentions are not to make anyone angry or offend anyone; however, I don't think that people know the whole story. First the video starts by showing a cow being hit in the center of the head with a pressurized pin that knocks that animal out so the animal does not feel anything after this point. Also, almost all cattle, sheep, chicken, and pork producers treat their animals very humanely. But organizations like PETA only show the few cases/videos when animals are miss-treated. I'm very proud of myself. Animals have just as much rights as a human. If a human suffered the conditions an animal had in any of the scenarios in this video, all of it would end.

The other animals eat the others... also the plants are "living beings"... i eat meat... i will eat meat but in respect of "civilization"... i don't beat animals... i help them when i can... when i don't need them... if i find i sheep crossing the street i wouldn't help "her" to across... i put it on my car and go directly on my oven...

This is terrible. I have worked on farms but they were small ones. Nothing like the corporations that own most farms today. The animals on the farms I've been to would've never been treated this way. Too bad the American government has made it almost impossible for small farms to operate.

I dont have a problem with this as long as the animal is slaughtered while unconscious as it will not suffer as a result of having its throat cut unlike muslim or jewish slaughter methods.

@meringandan There is no such thing as humane slaughter,the animal 9 times out of 10 is NOT stunned properly and is still concious when its throat is cut, to make matters worse many are not left to bleed out for long enough either and cows are still conscious when they are skinned and have their feet cut off and pigs are going into the scalding tank when they are still conscious too ,undercover footage in slaughterhouses proves this .Think about that while youre munching on your nice juicy meat

@sallyb4441 I used to work in a slaughter house I know what happens there, most times the animal is stunned properly the processors have to do the job properly and abide by a strict code of practice to keep their licenses and export accreditation that means following correct slaughter procedures as part of their animal welfare code of practice they could not remain in business if they didn't.
Macdonalds would not buy from a processor who did not follow its animal welfare policy.

I am not a Vegetarian and not planning on becoming one, but this just broke my heart. I have no problem with eating meat and it isnt barbaric or unethical to eat it. But if then animals go through pain in the process, now that's a problem. I could care less what the do to the cows or pigs; As long as they feel no pain.

I think being raised for slaughter would be awesome! I get free meals, free steroids and plenty of company. Hell, you would have it made. And when you're at the prime of your life you get your head chopped off so you don't have to suffer old age. Plus, you get to know that someone out there is going to enjoy something made from you. Whats better is you don't have to spend your entire life in a cubicle 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week.

Yes is cruel what they are doing to some of these animals before they kill them for food. It does happen but most meat eaters I don't think they even think about this when they are eating meat. Neither do I. Peta's idea of "cruel" though is that any animal being mistreated and not having "rights" and PETA IS trying to scare people into not eating meat. They always look for the most disgusting and worst slaughter house places to film and treat it as if they all look and operate the same.

True very true. And most people don't think about this when they are eating meat, as you said. That is the purpose of this video though. Not to scare, but rather to make you realize and think. And having seen millions upon millions of videos, pictures and investigations myself, a majority of which were not by Peta, I can tell you that the things you see in this video are not the worst of it.

But just because you support an organizatation does not mean you are like every other activist that supports it as well. Every person has a different strategey, and certain lines they won't cross. To imply that every activist of a similar group is the same, or behaves the same way, is absurd. I agree that there are better organizations to support, such as Mercy for Animals, or Vegan Outreach.

As much as we do not need meat to survive, alot of people do like it. I myself am carnivorous. However, I do NOT believe in the cruel execution of animals, if you want to kill somthing make sure the poor thing had at least a decent life, and a very short death. Killing animals like people do in china (the poor things are still moving while being fried, or after being skinned) is somthing you vegans should be more focused on. Meat production in the US will probably never stop, But cruelty can.

Those animals wouldn't exist but I think they'd rather not be overbred and forced into this world only to be exploited, tortured and slaughtered for your pleasure. These animals would have no human "purpose" as you state, but they do value their own lives and seek happiness and freedom from sufferingjust as much as we do.
