your right the x-clamps let the board flex IF YOU DON'T SCREW THEM BACK DOWN there are eight count them eight small t8 torx head screws that hold down the area with the x-clamps as long as you dont lose them the x-claps work i work on and build computers and i can tell you that the force the x-clamps make on the board is equal if not less than that of a cpu heatsink on a desktop. the x-clamp fix is a bandaid fix its not a permanant fix i have had to reapply x-clamps to several x-boxes i fixed
interesing but how successful has the oven fix been for you? these 360's are such crap...i wish they would get sued for this and lose...this should not be legal...
Dude, I don't know why you set your oven to 500 degrees. I set the oven to 400 degrees and did it for 10 min. I didn't have to cover my board like you did and I didn't melt any of the plastic or kill any capacitors. Just put the board in the oven on a cookie tray with some alum foil balls to prop it up.
Check out my fan mod. It helps keep it cool after you oven fix.
Yeah, you're basically describing the xclamp fix usually used together with the reflow (oven fix) to fix the xbox. Another fix is heatgunning the chips. Try that as well.
where is part 2 exactly ?

@denverbronco27
I got them from ebay. Literally type in xbox fix and you will find them.

I don't know that it is cheap solder as much as it is lead free which doesn't stand up to heat well.

@untouchable759 Its The paste u add it to the chips never use cheap paste i will let ur fan go crazy use good thermal
sepulveda956 1 year ago
@untouchable759 the washers on top are keeping the heat sink from contacting one or both the processors. Try a thinner washer.
dgholmz 1 year ago
why do you put the nylon rings on top.. wont that keep the heatsink higher than the cpu and gpu..?
crossleymarko 2 years ago
no because the gpu and cpu are around 1mm high and when you use 1mm thick washers. it works xD
