  • her voice is a pleasure..

    a totally joy!

  • Gosh, she could have sung the Manhattan phone book and still make it sound great. Nowadays, everybody sounds the same.

  • Really nice, fits with her voice. Right pitch and good interpretation.

  • I'm 25 years old and this lady is my idol! Nobody can hold a candle to her! It's a shame they don't make 'em like Ella anymore!

  • Truly a legend. I am glad she got to enjoy fame while she was alive. Thank you for sharing this.

  • wow she covered all his songs? i need to get hersongbook

  • @networkse7en .. yes! all classics were made by ella. i am sure they are all available. every song she covered is a "lession" for every truly singer in the world. especialy THIS one... i donot knwo much singers who made it SO perfect...... love eva.... to say it clearly: i am one of her greatest fans... as you probably can feel :)

  • Wonderful. I could listen to Ella all day. Thanks for posting!

  • They didn't call her the 'First Lady of Song' for nothing. Ella sings this wonderfully well.

  • i love Ella . Just wonderful..! She takes us immediatly into her enchanted world..with her enchanted voice..

  • This is my favourite vocal version of this tune. Check out Fred Hersch's trio version (with Drew Gress on bass and Nasheet Waits on drums) from the album "Night & the Music." It's incredibly beautiful and haunting.

  • @thorneycroft... was just now listening and must say.. welld one. normalyl i am not a shirley bassey fan, she is/was always a little bit too "hysterical" for me, but this song was made with the correct "tone".. really goooooood. nobody compares with "my" ella, but shirely is very close ... thanks...eva

  • @odysseetheater

    Danke, Eva!

  • this is a very diffcult song to sing..i know from what i´m speaking :) but for ME ella made the one and only version. cole porter says once that he did not know how good his songs were, since ella are singing them. well.. that s it !!

  • @odysseetheater

Agree with you that this version is very good. Have you heard Shirley Bassey's version, too? It's also great in my opinion.

  • thank you so much for posting this song..

  • it was a pleasure believe me :)

  • beautiful!!!

  • it's ella fitzgerald singing a cole porter song, an undeniably beautiful combination...

  • this is a correct statement! could be from me :)
