i just got my speed3 about a month ago, i had the 2010 gs with the 2.5l and it was such a nice car, but after having the speed3 man, i feel that i am in a totally different car eventhough it looks the same out and in, such a pleasure to drive it everyday!!
@moehamdan101 Yup! It definitely adds some zip to the morning commute =). Was your 2.5 a stick shift? If so, I'd like to know the difference in the clutch weight and feel lol.
no mine was an automatic, it was pretty quick for a little car, it pulled really good, and i also had i the sport shifting which i felt gave me more power, the handling was pretty good, although i felt the transmission shouldve responded a little fast between gears but still it beats a civic or corolla
and the family might be getting a new mazda 3 2.0 or 2.5, thats how much we like the car!
@stellar157 Yeah, the tech package is awesome! I should make a new video of the car. I have a Cobb SRI, Streetunit shift spacers, Sure Motorsports rear motor mount, and a Razo leather ball shifter. The car has a new personality now!
@ddubbahdollarbill At least it's a Mazda 3! You'll be getting great value. The engines for all Mazda 3 are slightly more responsive than other cars of the same class so you made a good choice. Have you considered a used Mazdaspeed 3? Just an idea lol.
Keep it in the powerband, Grandpa! No need to be in fifth unless you're on a highway. You want to conserve gas? Buy a hybrid. The turbo is your friend when some bozo cuts you off and you need to shoot a rapidly narrowing gap!! He can't help you when you're at 1500 rpms.
@WhamValdez I agree with the turbo concept but I was just cruising around. I wasn't trying to thrash it. I keep it at 2000 rpms or higher ALWAYS! I'm not the idiot who wants to lug the engine lol. Give me a little while and I'll post a nighttime run with some harder driving.
clutch is tricky. i got the hang of it though. its all about timing and balance. i actually learned how to drive stick on this car so maybe thats why its soo much smoother when i get off frist gear.
@jace4w Yeah, you get the hang of it. I learned on this car as well. I stalled it quite a bit as I was a nervous wreck lol. I'm not scared to admit it... I can be smooth as well but sometimes i have to let the clutch slip a little bit to get off without jerking. It's so much fun though huh?
For daily driving, do you feel jerked in your seat when releasing the clutch ? I heard that MS3's clutches are a little harsher than their non-turbo counterpart...
@nova9403 The clutch, oh the clutch, oh the clutch!!! Yes, the clutch is trickier than many other cars. It engages about an inch from the floor which makes starting in first a little less smooth than other rides and it makes shifting during daily driving a bit rougher than it should be. It's something I can not think about most of the time lol. Sometimes it's annoying though.
Dude you sit wayyy too far away from the pedals. You're not supposed to extend your legs all the way to press the clutch fully. Get your ass closer to the wheel and not only do you have more steering control but you can modulate the brakes/gas/clutch much better.
@d350z92 I'll tell you why he does that..i own a 2010 MS3 and the dash is too near the right leg.The only way to avoid that is to back up the seat..If you are 5.2 feet then you're ok...lol
@stevezane Yeah but he's nowhere near hitting his knee. Look at how much space there is between the dash and his right leg. He looks like he's really struggling to push the clutch and only gets all the way to the floor when tippy toeing it. That's really not an ideal driving position to press pedals, not to mention being miles and miles away from the steering wheel.
@d350z92 You know what? Tomorrow I'll move the seat a little closer just to see if I can feel the car better =). By the way, check out my newest videos if you're interested.
@eckojuice Look at you Mr. Juicy Juice =D. I can't respect a person who can't insult someone (or try to at least) without resorting to racism or anti-gay remarks. It really shows how much you must hate yourself and how ignorant you really are. One more thing; the tear ducts are NOT located in the nasal passages...
@NasahrSandi9 Haha I know. One thing you should know is that the engine wasn't fully warmed up at the time and I was driving a little slower than usual. I just haven't had a chance to put up a better video. I assure you that this car is driven like it should ;).
@eckojuice Get a life asshole. It's called a daily driving video. Don't you have anything better to do with your pathetic excuse for a life than make negative comments on people's videos? It's called a wide angle mirror and it makes the car better in the sense that it's less likely to get smashed!
@krookeddreamz09 Just did! I know, I need to put a vid up of faster driving. I just had some fun on my way back from the gym. Took a detour home =). I didn't thrash it, but I was shifting at 4500 for some of the time.
@umrahsahab Hey, can you be a bit more specific because I'm not sure how to answer your question lol. It's pretty smooth I think. The only thing that's not smooth is that the clutch is a big pain. The engagement is too quick which causes some notchy shifting sometimes.
Ya my bad. I was wondering if the engine feels like it is strained/ if it is fun taking it to the redline. I dont like engines that feel like they are gonna pop. The clutch I know is really abrupt but I kinda like it, cuz it felt like a hard edged race car. I just didnt get to push the engine hard enough to see if it felt strained. Dont u get used to the clutch after a while though? Thanks

@a0987312245 Lol. I'll probably put up another video sometime soon of me driving it a bit harder. I won't rev it TOO TOO HIGH since it's bad for the car. But I know, I was driving it like a weenie for this video. It was supposed to be an everyday driver type of thing. =)
@stevebutera That's cool bro! I don't want to get pulled over for it though. I also want everyone to see me in it =p. Must look cool though. You have any vids? I'd love to see your car =).
@specialjoe405 Honestly, the car isn't as comfortable as let's say a GTI, but they get the job done. They could be a bit better, but they're pretty heavily bolstered which does provide adequate support. If you'd like to find out for sure, you might consider test driving one. Every car gives a different feel to different people =).
@oblakx35 It's totally up to you, but I would hold off on it for now in case it voids your warranty. Turbo timers are useful, but not necessary. I'd just suggest idling the car for 15-30 seconds after working the turbo hard to let it cool a little. I'm glad that you enjoy the car and thanks for watching the video.
Lol, every review of the car says the engine's pretty loud inside and you say its quiet? I think it's a mix of your driving and the camera. Even you getting into the car sounded a bit muffled. Could definitely hear the exhaust though.
@lonelover You're right. It's not quiet, but some people think that every car has to sound like a dynamo exhaust lol. That's why I said that. The car has a nice exhaust note, but yes, it can't be heard on the camera.
Thanks for the comments guys. Yeah, I'll put up a video of slightly harder driving soon. As for the camera, I lifted up the headrest of the front passenger seat and put the camera there. I pushed the headrest down so that the camera stayed in place.
