@InstallGuys I don't think any one has as it is a very costly alloy . How ever before applying that kind of heat to it, I hear titanium can explode , but, i don't remember what touches it off. might want to get an MSDS to be safe. if one is to try it. Id hate to turn to the news channel and find some poor guy Who suffered ill of that kind of accident. Maybe I am confusing it with something else? any how take some time should you decide to try it.
I have integrated the Hammer EX into the Brimstone. I use silica aggregate. See my Build It Yourself video concerning the Hammer EX on my main youtube page.
Back during WWII hydrogen was used as the fuel gas for welding aluminum. For 16 gauge sheet, you could a #4 tip (.076) with hydrogen and oxygen coming in about 2 psig
Hi there, I can't wait to play with one of these, I'm just wondering what you're using as a power supply. How many volts/amps are you running your set up with to produce the 3.5 lpm? I tried one off a PC but they burn out way too easily.
We are using a large battery charger/car starter. it produces up to 200 amps. But we set the elite so everything ran at at approx 12V and approx 40 amps. When using a PC power supply, you need a high amp single rail. Those are rather expensive. Also, keep the amps down below the efficiency of the PS. If it is 80% EFF and rated 38 amps you have a MAX of 30amps, mix elite so it doesnt go over 20-25 amps and it shouldnt burn up. Look into Full Wave Bridge Rectifiers... :-) We have gone this route.
Yes...just the goggles, not the full face mask. We have tested the flame on some intersting rocks and minerals which produced frighteningly bright light.
THe heat from the flame isn't like other flames. The heat occurs mostly out the front, and not around the flame, so directing it onto something will be necessary. Ceramic sounds promising. As far as cinder block, maybe fire brick would work. We will be putting your suggestions on the "to-do" list.
how did you make the 0.025 (inch) tip?

@ShutterbugW Good question, I haven't tried titanium. Steve

with all the stuff happening to day with the greedy energy companies and now taxation of water, this is the ultimate route to go.

Are you using bronze or silica??

Great video guys, just wondering how many LPM you are running in this video, and do you consider lower producing systems?
definitely will be in touch on your web site !

Thanks!
That vid was with 3LPM
however, we have tested that torch with the .025 tip as low as 1LPM with success.
Today the site is down for maintenance...we recently moved from FL to OH and should have everything back up and running this coming weekend.
Thanks!

on the subject of heating i think
heating a cinder block-some sort of ceramic should work-and use heat exchange off the block for heating water ,etc.
put it in a thermos style flask, adjustable flame distance from the heating block so it doesnt melt, and a flue thru the middle.
nice torch btw
