  • OMG I LOVE THIS VID AND YOU FOR MAKING THIS VIDDDDD :D

  • "what the hell is goin on here"

Shadowy, The Guy who was pissed

  • Miranda's always get their ass kicked... lol

  • awesome song with the best battle from star trek ds9 brilliant

  • There should be a BRUTAL CLASS ASSULT SHIPS ITS BEACAUSE OF THE DEFIANT WHEN IT SHOOT ITS QUANTUM TORPEDOES RIGHT INFRONT OF THE BREEN WARSHIP

  • galaxys kill

  • Does anyone remember voyager the one when the doctor goes on the phoenix it was made to fight the dominion it would have been great to see it but oh well

  • That was so brutal when the Defiant fires its quantum torpedos at the Breen ship and splits it in half, I remember Sisko was so fucking pissed at the time too.

    So good.

  • at 2:09 is that a connie firing phasers past defiant

if it is thats so jokes lool

  • I always wondered what happened to shields in the dominion war.

  • @bhownzrofl2 a piss poor production budget is the cause of all of the flaws in star trek.

    (and the enterprise theme)

  • thats epic

  • I love this song, even though I never listen to the lyrics and therefore have no idea what it is about.

  • Survivor - Eye of the Tiger

  • It's a little choppy...

The images and the lyrics and the music don't really match up well

    But it's a solid video

  • To think if this war and battle happened just about 10 years later they likely wouldn't have the romulan's to help hell theyd probably side with the dominion being crippled and all btw does anyone know about the supernova that blew up romulas ? like i heard that it may of been engineered or something by some race.

  • Was the Enterprise in this fight ? i mean they had to be right being the flag ship or were they sent to guard earth or something ?.

  • Time to kick evils ass yeah! its d-day for the forces of darkness baby.

  • The dominion war reminds me a lot of ww2 in that many powers ally with 1 side or another to fight a common foe and being allied with the romulans seems a bit like being allied with the lesser of 2 evils like allying with Stalin but he was far worse imo also in this fight its like ww2 the klingons like the yanks show up at the 2nd half of the war in ww2 the battle in this much respect to yank pilots who went to England to fly in their planes to fight the axis before America joined in the war.

  • 2:09 is that a connie class behind defiant??

  • The Miranda class was meant to be the redshirts of the fleet in the Dominion war. They were the cannon fodder.

Also Dominion weapons were Polaron based not Plasma based. In the beginning Polaron based weaponry went right through Federation Shields.

  • Get a different soundtrack it's not going with dis vid.

Their shields did not seem to be up?

The weapons were plazma based but in 2372 they developed a shielding against it just encase the Romulans joined the Dominion.

  • i give it 50000000000000000000000/5

  • The scenes in the video are excellent, although the music you chose doesn't go with it so well. Eye of the Tiger is a great song, but for this video, you should have at least chosen a version of the song in which you could hear the instruments more. Something more pronounced. It really affected the quality, therefore I give it 3/5.

  • ok i know i never watched the actually episodes but did none of the ships put there sheilds up?? there getting blasted apart with the first shot!!

  • the weapons platforms were using plasma based weapons, which in the ST universe, rip right through shields.

  • Plasma weapons don't go through shields, if they did the plasma-using Romulans would have long since conquered the quadrent.

Some production decisions have no in-universe explanation.

  • @shadowOrgon idd :P

  • @shadowOrgon Dominion war forced dilithium shortage so they had to cut it somewere =D

  • @shadowOrgon It's never really addressed why in fleet to fleet battles you don't really see shields being used. Obviously its for dramatic effect, but you can probably use the explanation that shields were either powered down or scaled to hug the hull closely so that ships would have room to maneuver effectively. Otherwise they may be able to be huddled together by a larger force due to limited maneuvering room.

  • @shadowOrgon u so need to see ds9 my fav sries

  • @starman47611 oh dont worry i watched the whole series a month ago lol it was awesome lol

  • @shadowOrgon Well they would have had shields on DS9, but the battles were longish, and the producers only had so much time for each episode. Shields would make it longer, which I would be loving, but too much time and not enough money or somethin

  • i always loved the pwnage of the Defiant and a Klingon BOP Escort lol

  • For some reason, I find the Galaxy class ships always having some kind of majestic appearance. Great video, they should bring the dominion war episodes out on blu-ray with updated CGI. The bring out fan collective sets like Alternate Realities, so why not?

  • Probably because Star Trek has never been a very violent series, and they might feel that they endorse war if they do that, but hell, I say do it with EVERY EPISODE! I would SOOO buy it

  • i agree lol they seem really posh the way they swerve out the way it looks like there raising there head at someone or just sticking there nose up in the air to much

  • @LaGrandGuitarra and if its not in the form of enterprise its usually ending its majestic appearance with an Epic explosion,

  • terrible choice for the soundtrack.. absolutely terrible.. your fired.

  • Its just not the same when you can't hear the sound of the phasers/explosions/

  • Wtf would you have a Rocky song mixed in with Star Trek some people just don't get it.

  • Because it's a fan music video? Wtf would you post a pointless inflammatory comment for no reason other than to provoke a response like this?

Re the Akira discussion... I blame whoever was piloting that one, they did fly right past those orbital weapons platforms, and yeah the ship looked damaged before then, but why get close? XD Why!!! Use the torpedos dammit man!

  • It wasn't pointless since when does Star Trek feature pop music? With the exception of the Enterprise theme (whose lyrics actually suited the show) when has there been a song like this in the show or films./rhetoric kthxbai.

  • Comment removed

  • The point is this is a music fan vid. It's not a clip from the show in case you missed that one ;) he's taken a bunch of clips he likes, and put it to a piece of music that seems fitting. I doubt he was gonna write out a classical score and record it. Griping aside, the video is cool and it's not like the music wrecks it completely, is it? Or did it really spoil your enjoyment that much?

  • Akira class ships suffer heavy losses because of there job. They are heavy cruisers. They are supposed to get into the thickest fighting, bloody the enemy and try and survive.

  • This war was the best ever sci fi war shown on tv,the excelsior class ships need to be pulled out from the front lines though so do the mirandas, they need more galaxy and sovering class ships.

  • I Agree that the Miranda class should be pulled. In fact Mirandas are no longer constructed. The Nebula Class replaced the Miranda, As For the Excelsior it is on of the Most proven designs there is and should remain a up front battle ship. Espically the Lakota variant. As for the Galaxy class Only 12 were made 3 of which have been destroyed. And there are only 2 Sovereign class currently in service with more on the way.

  • Can people stop with the Galaxy Class? No-one knows the exact numbers and never will. As for the Miranda's, they are still capable starships and Starfleet has a lot of them, so they will be used for a long time.

  • I agree with the opinion of the miranda. Both the miranda and the excelsior are capable and Starfleet needed some ships to fill the gap between the fighters and the warships. AKA they needed frigates.

  • The Miranda is far to old to be kept in service as a battle ship, it just cant cut as proven in DS9, Hence why it was replaced some time ago by the Nebula. Interpid, Akira, Steamrunner to name a few are frigates.

  • The TNG technical manual clearly states that originally 6 were built, presumably the U.S.S Galaxy, The U.S.S yamato, The U.S.S Enterprise, The U.S.S Odessey, The U.S.S Venture and an un-named one. The other 6 were constructed only to the Framework stage, for use in emergency only which came in the form of the Borg attack. And as we know 3 of the Galaxy class have been destroyed, ergo there are 9 left.

  • Was it ever said in the show? Unless it was, I doubt many would class a Technical manual as Canon.

  • Perhaps not canon, But at the very least semi-canon seeing as the book was approved by Gene and wrote by Rick Sternbach and Michael Okuda, And if they say thats how it it then that is be far good enough for me.

  • Oh and yes the Mirandas will be used for crappy assignments such as transports, or some other non-important task, U.S.S Lantree, U.S.S Brittain.

  • 1. DS9 has proven you wrong.

    2. So you would say Science and Exploation is a non-important task?

  • DUH !!!!!

    1. DS9 has proven me right just look how easily they were destroyed, they cant cut it.

2.I dont recall saying that, I merely ment that they handle the mudane tasks throughout the Federation. Science and exploration is best suited to other vessels i.e Nova class / Orbeth class. AT one point yes they were amony the best. but now they are far to older design.

  • 1. I saw Akira's die faster.

    2. The hull is old, but the Technology inside it is new. Justlike he Excelsior.

Either way, maybe we should stop this before we start insulting each other (and ourselves).

  • 1. I cant agree with you the Akiras are much newer and tougher not to mention one in particular was hit by a dozen of the orbital weapons platforms.

    2. the old hull its its downfall, that is why the nebula replaced it, unlike the Excelsior class which was designed for tougher conditions, Also the excelsior class is still in production with more modern hulls, i.e Lakota, And there has been no direct replacement for the Excelsior due to its proven design. Its have been nice discussing this though.

  • @sodhexo Actually, most of that is incorrect according to canon. There were twelve Galaxy classes launched initially in the first batch (Enterprise, Galaxy, Yamato etc), however all evidence indicates that they are still being built and continuously upgraded as the largest platform/capital/battleship the Federation have. In one screenshot we see 15 Galaxy classes out of only thirty or so (and that's just a part of the fleet consisting of fragments of two others in Sacrifice of Angels).

  • @fpsBeaTt That is certainly possible, Indeed it probably is. However there were as you say 12 initinally.

  • @sodhexo The Nebula did not replace the Miranda class and is actually the second largest starfleet battleship class vessel, outmatched only by the Galaxy. Now an analogy could be made that the Nebula is to the Galaxy as the Miranda is to the Constitution, but in no way does the Nebula replace the role of the Miranda. Upon release the Miranda was a medium cruiser, the Nebula being a battleship. The Sovereign is the replacement for the Excelsior as stated by the designers as the main heavy cruiser

  • @fpsBeaTt NO cant agree with you there, The Nebula did replace the Miranda, Just like the Nova replaced the Orbeth. The Sovereign is not a replacement for the Excelsior it is an addition to it. As i stated before the Excelsior is a proven design and still under construction.

  • @sodhexo You're wrong on all points there according to both canon and producer/designer input. Rick Sternbach stated that the Sovereign was replacing the 80+ year old Excelsior design as the premier heavy cruiser. Furthermore, the replacement for the Miranda in terms of relative power and ability upon release would be the Steamrunner class. You don't replace a light-medium cruiser (now a destroyer) with a premier battleship. It's bad strategy, and doesn't fit with what we've seen population wise

  • @fpsBeaTt Still dont agree with you, I dont think you were reading what i said, I did not say the Sovereign replaced the Excelsior, It is an addition to it. As i have stated before the Miranda is far too old to be used in battle look how easily they got their ass kicked in the dominion war. look at the Brittain and the Lantree. Not the ships i would send into battle. Again with the Steamrunner that is an addition to the fleet. You seem to think that additions are not allowed .

  • @fpsBeaTt If additions or new designs to the fleet were not allowed then starfleet would be comprised of a bunch of antiquated/refited to death NX class's

  • @sodhexo It seems you're not understanding what I'm saying. The Excelsior is almost as old as the Miranda and is being phased out, which is why the Federation no longer constructs them. The fleet of them you see in DS9 are left over from earlier times which have been upgraded as much as possible. I never said nor implied that additions cannot be made; the implication which anyone else would gather was that older ships get phased out, the timeline for the Sovereign intro fits with this.

  • @fpsBeaTt You did imply that additions cannot be made. If the Excelsior design is so bad and old then how come it was a match (perhaps more than) for the Defiant a ship far newer and one of the most powerful in the fleet (Lakota vs Defiant) I'd be willling to bet that the Sovereign would take a beating as well if it went up against the Lakota, The Miranda was never designed to do what the Excelsior was designed for hence why that got their ass kicked so badly

  • @fpsBeaTt also if one excelsior can be upgraded or built to Lakota standards then they all can. I say it again the Sovereign is an addition to the fleet not a replacement.

  • @sodhexo When did I ever imply that? I implied that after a period of time older designs (space frames) would get phased out, nothing more. The Lakota was upgraded with higher rated emitters, and does of course have more potential than a Defiant class (but a Defiant class is a pure warship and less than one ninth the volume built from the ground up with that in mind). The Lakota would have definitely won if it had been fitted with ablative armour.

  • @sodhexo However, the comes a time when it becomes counter productive especially in respect of time required, to upgrade a certain ship. Think about it; an Excelsior is roughly nine times the size of the Defiant and a match for it; seems a bit ineffective in a wartime situation fighting for one's survival. The Excelsior has simply reached its end of life in terms of design limitations to implement technology. What can you expect? It's over 80 years old.

  • xD "Resistance is futile, Dominion!"

  • No, the Akira class that inspiration for the NX in Enterprise.

  • Akira= Best ship Starfleet ever created :D

  • nice!!!!

  • I frickin' love this video.

  • I love the Excelsior class. And now that the Lokota sub type is being prduced, that gives it even more powerful. Nice music.

  • Actually the Lakota was a one off creation. The Excelsior is being pulled from the front lines as fast as they can replace them. The class has taken very heavy losses at the hands of the Domion.

  • Personally I didn't like DS9 as much as the other, still good but TOS and TNG were the best then VGR. Good video though

  • Whats the music called?

  • The song is called Eye of the Tiger but don't ask me who it's by cause I have no clue.

  • eye of the tiger by survivor

  • though its true an Akria Class ship looks a lot like NX-01

  • no, that was an Akira class starship

  • So was it just me, but wasn't that wasn't the original enterprise in clip 2:40 - 2:45?

  • wow. i think ive been missing a good show. awesome video!

  • LOL you have to feel sorry for the crews in the miranda and excelsior class ships they must've known there was no way in hell they were going home lol.

  • Well, the Mirandas were like an older version of the Defiant, minus the ablative hull armor. They were cheap, quick, and easy to build. Most of them probably weren't fully outfitted. They probably didn't know they were going to die, but they knew that it would be a bumpy ride.

  • Actuallt the Miranda's are the equivelant of the Nebula class, Originally designed to support the Contitution class. Miranda's were only retro-fitted none were actually built as thery were to dated. And the Excelsior class kicks ass, Its my fav class.

  • I wish the miranda class stood more of a chance, seeing such a iconic class being destroyed over and over again gets rather depressing when watching these fan videos

  • I agree. The Miranda was a tough ship when we first saw it in TWOK.

  • Deep Space Nine 4ever!!!

  • As I said to hundreds of ppl, Star Trek holds the title for the Best space battles.

    STAR TREK FOREVER!

  • Yeah like the Seasonfinal 8 of Deep Space 9.. wait no, this was all material already used..

  • The Battle is a classic anvil and hammer...The Fed Fleet in the front and the Klingon came and hammerd from the side which broke the Cardassions will to fight and without support the Dominon had to fall back

  • eye of the tiger!!

great music and of cours the video is very good to

    star trek for life

  • What I don't get is why didn't they just warp past the Dominion to Deep Space Nine?

  • Easy:

Warping by means fighting a Fleet which is much bigger as the own PLUS the Spacestaion in the neck.

DS9 was left by the Dominion after it was clear, that the own fleet lost the battle.

  • Warp is not like hyperspace in SW. For one, it's not as fast and the opposing fleet can interpose itself in the way and Dominion proved time and again they would sacrifice their own ships to win. Also if they did warp past they'd be surrounded by the station and the fleet that would be then following them.

  • nice music but the bits where it goes duh duh duh duh you could quickly flick from the enemy to the federation and back to keep with the beat but overall wicked vid

  • whats the song of this number?

  • i thought that song was not a bade choice very good

  • Love the video. The music goes ok, but I dont like it very much

  • Dominion Wars Were awsome!

  • Excellent.

  • I think the music fits well also. You had scenes in there that the other guy didn't have i.e. the Battle for Cardassia Prime. It's been so long since i have wathced DS9, I narely remember that battle like when they were going through the orbital batteries.

I so need to buy Seaon 6 & 7 on DVD.

    Great videop=!

  • Awesome video, and Perfect Music fits like a glove!!

  • good vid, not so good choice of musik
