I just wanted to make sure that you know that there is a tine, but important line between ASL and SEE sign. ASL is about understanding concepts and not about signing every word you would say in English. SEE (signed exact english) is not it's own language. Simply English on your hands. This video is SEE, that means that you signed every English word. No matter what you choice to sign, just know what you are doing. :)

I would pick either one and STAY with the same one throughout the video.

In the frozen north, we don't use the "textbook" ASL "when" outside of ASL classes. So, the double "q's" downward are fine for me. Americans might not know what you mean and prefer the circling right index finger heading towards the waiting left index finger and landing on the tip.

What makes a song easy to sign? A slow song, a fast song? A song by an artist you like (one you can relate to?)?

I'd love to see Shaina Twain but I don't know if you consider her songs easy. Look at a few, see what you think.

The sign at 1:17 - 1:19 was what I meant. I get it now. "Imaginary" was the sign.

I missed it the first time, but your sign for "hotel" is not one I've seen before. In Canada, we usually sign "honeymoon" for hotel.

(I have no idea why.)

Because when I was in the USA, the "hotel" sign was ....

left hand, index finger up in the air

right hand, "h" letter, on the left hand's index

finger tip and curl the "h" letter back and forth.

I'm quite aware that she's not a professional sign language interpreter. From what she's said and what's on her profile, she's entirely self-taught from the internet.

I really think she has talent and she will be one hell of an ASL interpreter if that's the direction she wants to go in.

As much as possible when I find a hearing volunteer who is willing to interpret a song, I want to encourage them to improve, and post many, many more videos. It's the only way I'll get to access music.

I'm HOH and couldn't make out the word. You had your hands out in the "Y" shape - was that your sign for "play"?

Also, are you left handed or are you able to use both hands? The sign you used for "share" was the left handed on but the other signs appeared to be leading from your right hand. Just curious on that point.

These videos are more for practice than anything as I moved away from my deaf friend's city about a year ago.... So I know its not outstanding. Haha. I think you were talking about the sign at 0:48 in which case it was me messing up "Phone" :) . Also, I am right handed, but I've never been asked that before with regards to signing.Hmm.
