have to disagree about glee being an hsm rip-off. glee may take place in a high school and have a similar love story between Finn and Rachel (glee) as that between Troy and Gabriella (hsm), but glee is much more realistic and darkly funny than the pastel, twee preachiness of HSM that never quite captures the reality that prevents real high-schoolers from embodying the morals they claim to support. glee is like what would happen if someone tried to pull off HSM in real life.

I am A Gleek, but in moderation. I really do appreciate the story arcs in the show. Yes, it can get melodramatic, but damn if the writers aren't sending poignant messages! I've seen every episode and my favorites are Mercedes & Kurt. BTW, Mercedes is supposed to get a black male love interest soon--reason for you to watch Black Nerd ;) And to be fair, I'll rent the HSM trilogy and see why my sisters were obsessed with them 4 years ago...

On Glee: I have never seen the show, but I am thinking about watching it. I only hate to start watching things mid-season. The thing that turns me off are all of the 'Gleeks' that constantly rave about it, they are the ones that make me not like the show because they are SO annoying about its 'greatness'. & I really hate covers of songs. So, I really don't know if I would enjoy Glee.

I hate Glee. It's not so much that I don't like the show, I've never seen it, I don't want to see it, it's not my thing. The reason I hate it is it's constantly in the damn music charts. It's hard enough for a new artist to get into the charts and get some big exposure, without a damn TV show also taking up space in the charts.
