While each era has great music, this stuff is GOLD. For those that don't know: Select a few gems from this playlist and play them for a woman you'd like to get to know better. You, too, will become a fan! Add some Al Green and Spinners and all will be well. DJ JAM
i am 63 and had the honor and privilege of listening to all the great soul artists and groups from the 50's,60's,70',80'90's 'til now! i am really grateful too because the soul music of today is just not up to par. there are some absolutely great young singers out there today but they don't get a chance to showcase their great voices and talent with the material they do. i was so glad when i heard WHEN A WOMAN LOVES by r kelly-that's what we need more of!! thanx for posting this great one!!
@dogcat126 Hello--I so agree! R. Kelly is an awesome R & B singer--you MUST watch the video "If I Could Turn Back the Hands of Time" The video and song are SO good--you must see to appreciate--hope you do :) Jackie
ahhhhhhh yeahh!! this is what I'm talkin bout.. wash the ride.. then drop the top and cruise with your lady down threw the neighborhood.. And show her off. While everybodys sayn thats whats up.. RNB oldies THATS WHATS REALLY UP!!
you have to keep listening at music like this for a reminder of what true love is cause if you don't you will forget especially with the music they make now. I was 11yrs old in the 70s when I had my mom to buy me this album. now days the kids are asking there parents to buy them hard core rap unbelievable. But they just don't make music like this anymore.
Listen y'all I waz born in 97 and luv dis kind of music and I thank my parents for intruducion me to some real music. If only more of the people in my generation can discover this kind of music and relize how much music has changed.
I totally agree with you on these percentages, I was beginning to think I was the only one who felt that way. I was born in '70 so for me, the best music was in the 80's.....I'm a total 80's fan. And often I'll dip to the 60s and 70s.
now this is the sht i can remember when my older sister use to play these song like this when i couldn't go outside to at 6yrs old wow! we got to bring this back
@TitusSviatoslav I agree with you 1000%!!!!!...I have no idea what that junk is coming out of my radio these days, I listen to Cds and try to take myself back to when music was real!!...I just love this song!!,..brings back GREAT memories.
@TitusSviatoslav lol, those who try and compare each musical era to the next,,need to get a grip, each era has its gems, and uniqueness about it, a real musical connoisseur loves and appreciates all music no matter how old or new, an relises that the classics are classics and that the style o music will change over time...
@DrKooBot I very much agree! Many jazz fans know that Be-Bob was some strange new take on "Straight-Ahead" jazz that some upstarts like John Coltrane played. Surely it will pass & true jazz will persist. Sounds like what the prior comments were saying. Each era has gold, yet sometimes its hard to find. Hip-hop is vilified for the few notorious sounding rhymes that capture headlines. Check 'The Autobiography of Lauryn Hill, and A Tribe Called Quest' music for cool conscious hip hop.
@TitusSviatoslav all give you guys a better chart, and a lot less mathematical...
60's and 70's was the soul era,
80's and 90's were the rock and roll era
and the new age music is getting more spiritual, realise it or not as the new age music lyrics suck but but the beats are getting more and more shamanistic, witch you sober people would not understand, new age music sounds a whole lot better intoxicated...
70s creativity excelled to the point music required talent
80s mucis creativity sunk senseless noise began
90s got new brand of music and relatively good
2000s good mucis suffered as it declined
2007 onward creative music officially died, as flesh baring entered the stage. Now its no longer who has good music, but who shows more flesh, no talent required only good physical figure with surgically pumped chest is needed.
Now this is what you call an oldie, but goodie. When you hear the first couple of notes, it just makes you want to say, "Aaaaaahhhh yeeaaah, this is the jam right here."
I love this song. I remember when I was a child and I would hear it and my mind would go somewhere calm and peaceful. I want to see them live sooo bad! Thanks for this!
