@4GooMan ok granted that the Ottoman empire did rule Arabia over 100 years ago but - i was being general - in 1916 (roughly 100 yrs) the British and French formed an allience with the arabs encouraging their fight for independance from the Ottomans - called the Sykes-Picot Agreement, promising an independant and unified arab state! the British and French the proceeded to carve up Arabia for themselves undermining the agreement - British got Jordan, Palestine, France got Syria etc all resources!
