Your logic is a little flawed. Armies may be able to fight civil wars on a large scale. Little groups are able to fight theirs on a smaller, less knoticable scale, there-fore there is no news coverage. But keep in mind, small scale wars are likely to spiral into large scale wars.

However, what I DO know has not changed: the war with Iraq is a tragedy which is needlessly taking more lives everyday. My prayer is that George Bush will eventually admit his mistakes and bring our troops home.
I agree; the decision to go to war with Iraq was a tragic mistake. And the execution has been an equal disaster. But we did it. And if we leave, genocide will ensue. Ours and the Iraqis' best hope is the current plan, slim chance it has.
I must respectfully disagree. The decision to go was not the mistake. The estimation of the time required to complete the mission was the mistake, but Saddam was a criminal on his way to becoming a major world player. There was nothing to do but remove him.
So if they said, "instead of a few weeks, this war will actually last a decade at least if not longer" then the mistake would've been corrected and everything would've been alright?

thats very true. at first i was for the war but as i did research this government brain washes these soldiers we should be over there period no matter how u look at it. yes we did help some ppl over there in some ways but this government can care less about them its all about money and benefits

While this is a true statement, what do we do when we see someone killing their own people? do we turn our backs on those crying out for our help? without war there will never be peace. I would love peace, but there are evil men and women out there, and it's up to the few good men and women to stand up for what's right. I respect your opinion and understand what you are saying, but people come to us begging us to help them, save them, are we to turn our backs on them?

and u can support the troops.. even if u believe what there doing is wrong.. they need the support no matter what.. but if people dont support the war.. maybe its time they looked into things and really find out the truth so they understand.. sometimes i try to think of it as not war.. its going and helping others.. but there is war in doing so..

let me be perfectly clear, by saying the was was lost, and that we did accomplish the goal, is saying we failed. And we didnt fail, Saddam is out of power, we are setting up a government, we are training iraqi soldiers, and we are terminating terrorists every day. Look at how many more people died in WW2 and we are complaining now! ya i dont like soldiers to die, but thats what we are here to do. We have killed 10x the amount they have. The war is not lost.

Thank you for the correction! I am not (obviously) a person with military experience, so I apologize for the incorrect image. However, what I DO know has not changed: the war with Iraq is a tragedy which is needlessly taking more lives everyday. My prayer is that George Bush will eventually admit his mistakes and bring our troops home.

I agree; the decision to go to war with Iraq was a tragic mistake. And the execution has been an equal disaster. But we did it. And if we leave, genocide will ensue. Ours and the Iraqis' best hope is the current plan, slim chance it has.

I must respectfully disagree. The decision to go was not the mistake. The estimation of the time required to complete the mission was the mistake, but Saddam was a criminal on his way to becoming a major world player. There was nothing to do but remove him.

As much as you apparently think life is like a t.v. show, wrapped up in 30 or 60 minutes, in reality it is not. Sometimes doing what is right takes time and sacrifice, things that are seemingly foreign to you. The decision to go remains the right thing to have done. the mistake was the estimation of the scale to complete the mission.
Sorry that life doesn't fit your attention-deficit world-view.

Sorry, but Saddam WAS contained with tactical airpower. The land invasion was doomed; there was no way to win the hearts and minds of the tribal and religious groups in Iraq. Moreover, we never had NEARLY enough troops to ensure security. Iraq can only be unified by brute force (Saddam)-- something the US is in no way prepared or willing to do (and rightfully so.)Anybody who thought we could create a pluralistic republican democracy in Iraq was delusional.

the soldiers at the start are diggers mate. that is they are aussies (they are wearing aussie kit and clothing). we (the british) have different kit and clothing. am fully behind the us, uk and australian troops but lets try and get it right, it's good for morale, (an ex-british squaddie).

That was a really sweet video. The song always makes me cry because my grandpa said he'd make it home for christmas(even though he wasnt a troop in iraq he was a retired AF pilot)but he died 2 weeks before.
