  • same hear

  • ma'am I know the feeling my girlfriend is about to deploy and so is my cousin all we can do is support our soldiers and write/call them every chance we get he'll come home safe

    :) Semper Fidelis

  • This was the saddest song last year. My daughter was in Iraq driving Convoy Trucks. BUT SHE WILL BE HERE THIS YEAR YEA!! She was home on block leave and I included a video to show her being honored for turning in her Miss Texas competition crowns for an Army Beret and a Combat Action Badge. Thank You for your tribute.

  • Cool, you're in Texas? Me too, and my cousin's in England, he's not coming home till 2010, I miss him terribly, and my friends bro is at war as well, he's in Iraq. God bless you and your daughter and family. =)

  • you are in my prayers! thank you for the video

  • Looks like one more Government Yule is on the way for America... Search for Government Yule on iTunes and Amazon. Here's to hoping each and every soldier comes home safe and God Bless their families who will be missing their deployed loved ones this Holiday Season.

  • =[ aww

  • this makes me cry/ but in a good way because my husband should be home before christmas or at least thats what hes saying so well see... Im keeping my fingers crossed!

  • thanks to ur husband and all the soldiers for fighting for our freedom

  • This is very beautiful.... But this makes me cry so much, cuz my brother will be leaving for Iraq in Nov. a week before thanksgiving and WONT be home for Christmas. It will be our first Christmas without him. =(

  • I am so sorry. Thank you for your sacrafice. Hang in there.

  • i lost my uncle on christmas day :(

  • I am so sorry for your loss.

  • ohhh. i'm sorry :(

  • hang in there. it will all be over soon. and who knows maybe something will change and he will come home

  • Very touching!! God Bless all of our troops wherever they may be, in all of services, Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy!! We love you all and are very very proud of you for protecting us, your families back here in the States!!!

  • this is a real great video it really makes me remember my uncle who died serving our country in afganastan (if thats how u spell it)

  • I think it is very unfair that not put who sings. Of course, Josh Groban is ... But they should put it. The video is wonderful.

  • Thank you! Josh Groban is credited at the end of the video and in the notes "About this video".

  • oooh boy !!! tears................. TY !

  • that pic at 1:10.. so cute!

  • omg ..... im crying

  • Stunning and haunting. Maybe these soft words will drown out those assuring us that war brings peace. Make this country safer by bringing home overseas troops. Show the world that peace is not unAmerican. I think the singer is Josh Groban, by the way.

  • smb-- You obviously dont have a clue as to why our soldiers are there to begin with.

Who defends peace, yourself? Do you step into the breach between civilized society and a evil religion that would see everyone submit to it or die?

  • Armyman - It's sad but anti-Muslim rants & Go-War has convinced many that peace is unAmerican. No, we should not sacrifice lives in a religious conflict. We're there because (you choose) WMD, UN mandate, Saddam was a "bad guy" (former best bud), Iraq threatened us (no navy or air force but so what?). Oh, oil revenues would cover the costs (approx 2 billion/DAY) & nation building is now OK and not the evil W said in 2000. I'm a GOP voter, not a Pod Person spouting one liners. Have a nice day

  • sm-- After we defeated Japan we were there for 6 years rebuilding and stabalizing it (without insurgent attacks).

If we simply declared vitory and left the country would fall back into the hands of tyrants.

  • sm-- There are a number of reasons for going into Iraq all of them sound ones, like sadam not adhearing to the treaties he signed to end the 1st Gulf War, he butchered more than a 1,000,000 of his own people, he was set to attack Saudi Arabia during the 1st Gulf War, He paid the families of palestinian terrorists $20,000 after they murdered Jews by blowing themselves up.

  • CaptAmer, This is my last post. Our founders warned against an Empire (vs republic) & this war contradicts their ideals. We don't attack folks because they're evil. We declare war (per the Constitution) if our nation is threatened or attacked. So...we do not have peace or democracy & terrorism recruiting hit all time highs according to the Pentagon. Happy New Years.

  • not one of those reasons are sound!let that oil-soaked Saudi-arabia protect themsevles. why do we have to police the world.

  • Merry Christmas, Matthew. I miss you.

Caleb, I'm glad you got to come home for Christmas.

Thank you for posting this video.

  • I miss my brother!!

    Who sings this?

  • The song is performed by Josh Groban from his "Noel" CD.

  • i miss u dad... merry christmas :(

  • I will never listen to this song the same way again.....

I cry for all involved, friends, relative, especially our troops.

  • FYI you dont want the soldiers out of iraq...its not the time, trust me i would know

  • i must say that my heart goes out to each and every family or singel person with family fighting the war and i would like to thank all of you for your family member to fight for my freedom

  • To the dead and the living

    Souls destroyed in giving:

    Service you render our nation

Incites souls of the same station

Who meet you on hallowed ground

Where peace and honor are found

Burning with a tear and a kiss

    Joining the spirit of Christmas.

  • This was the most powerful video I have ever seen on youtube. May we stop the tragedy and bring our men and women home, safe and sound. It is still so shocking to see those coffins and tombstones, they don't like showing that in the media, now do they? PEACE AND JUSTICE FOR ALL. I say a prayer for these military families. It reminds one of what is really important in life.

  • My brother in-law is in Iraq right now fighting. Only if it could end, he would get back together with my sister who's married to him. Now they're not together and he might have died by now. I wish he were home for the Holidays. U_U*

  • great video, thanks for posting!

  • Can you even imagine what it would do to a wife or child of a serviceman in Iraq to see this video? this is thoughtless!

  • My brother is Sgt. Andrew R. Weiss and he was killed in action on May 3, 2007. Anyone who would have the audacity to criticize a video like this at this difficult time of year obviously does not have any personal investment in this was. Our pain is very, very raw and real. Sorry if it makes you uncomfortable. I'm glad this was made. It honors our loved ones. Sorry that you cannot understand that.

  • Laura I was not uncomforable with the video someone named ashlynfanforlife made fun of the video and I fipped out because it hurt very much because my best friend in Iraq was kill in a car bombing. Im sorry to hear of your loss. I hope you have a good holiday ur familys in my prayers...by the way i have alot of respect for our troops.

  • Thoughtless? What's thoughtless about it?

You never been...so you don't know what it is like...so hush. This was a great presentation. Nam Vet...USAF

  • Ashleyfanforlife. you should be ashamed of your fucking little selfish self. You belong in hell. These men and woman are fighing for our freedom. AND YOU the little coward that you are sits there in laughs. well you know what. go to helll you little worthless peice of shit.

  • "Fighting for our freedom" Are you sure about that? Because my brother died over there, and I certainly am not sure.

  • Wow your quite the asshole. Laughing directly at the soldiers, the soldiers who have been tricked into fighting a war that they were not brought in to fight for. What do you think of the chances are of them being home for christmas this year?

    Dick.

  • wtf? why u getting mad at me for? u replying to me when u should reply to ashleyfanforlife, she the one who laughting, and im cussing her for it.

  • That's what I did.

  • u are a stalker of ashley tisdale, i bet u eat her poop if u get the chance huh?

  • ashleyfanoflife, u fucken fag laughing at these people who fought for your freedom, u make me sick.

bastard. but what make me laugh is that u worship ashley tisdale lmao! now that pathetic!

  • my son is in the gulf for the 2nd time, so again he will miss christmas. We are so proud of him and all our troops. I wish them all a merry xmas and a swift homecoming

  • I wish my husband was going to be home for christmas. He will miss our daughters first christmas but i cant wait to have our daughter finally meet the guy behind the computer screen next year.

  • this is realy sad

  • I say lets finish the fight. finish what we started, ill hate to be iraq turn into civil war man....

  • only armies can fight a civil war

    not mindless rable

  • Your logic is a little flawed. Armies may be able to fight civil wars on a large scale. Little groups are able to fight theirs on a smaller, less knoticable scale, there-fore there is no news coverage. But keep in mind, small scale wars are likely to spiral into large scale wars.

  • Little late for that man.

  • i dont know if my brother is going to be home or not for christmas, i havnt seen him in 6 months. =(

  • oh wow what an empowering song i love it

  • my brother wont be home for christmas.. i wish he could. i have never had a christmas wiht out him.. i miss him so much.

  • am an american girl...all i want is poeace and love...not jus for my country...but for the whole world....=(..cant we all just get along

  • read hard on history. So that you can understand other people. Everyone wants peace. But it can only come when people understand they are equal

  • i much understand that i am an equal...i have friends from all differsnt nations...and religions...i see no color...we are one...i wished more people would see it that way...its not america,we are a world of one..thanks for the reply...i apreciate that

  • "cant we all just get along" You seem like a nice person. But you definitely dont understand. NO..we cant all get along. America would LOVE that, but the people we fight have an agenda to kill you...and to kill me....and to kill their own. Happily. Im glad you live in America....but I want for the people I have seen slaughtered....to be free and be okay too. Dont you want for the Iraqi's to know what its like to LIVE WITHOUT CONSTANT FEAR?

  • i understand what you are saying..i just pray for peace..i really feel bad for all the innocent men women and children beeing killed...i am a nice american girl..thanks for your comment peace to you and to yours....love an american girl

  • Goodbye and may God help Americans come to their senses about Iraq

  • I have been checking to see if Americans have really been intelligent enough to go pierce thru their own media's lies. Thanks for supporting democracy, freedom, human rights, and peace. Accepting facts for what they are is democracy. Nazis could not accept facts. And hence equated to evil.

  • I really support your troops, but it is time you really know that people sincerely and deeply HATE what they represent. And I ain't even involved. Imagine how dark an Iraqis heart can be towards Americans. Do you know why you should leave Iraq? Coz the babies are growing up. Someone who was 15 years when you went there is now 19 years. You should be very afraid of this person. VERY. Male or Female. For they have not experienced Saddam. THEY EXPERIENCED AMERICA. It is time for America to leave.

  • thats very true. at first i was for the war but as i did research this government brain washes these soldiers we should be over there period no matter how u look at it. yes we did help some ppl over there in some ways but this government can care less about them its all about money and benefits

  • America fights for freedom all over the world for ALL people.I think it's sad that people in other countries do not appreciate what this country has done for THEIR freedom.look who steps in to give supplies to countries that have suffered a natural disaster, the good old USA is there to help, but is it appreciated ? hell no

  • You husbands are killing and have killed other peoples husbands, wives, and children in Iraq only for oil. OIL. OIL. OIL. When you drive in a car, remember that is the sole reason your husband is dying. When it comes to Iraq, Americans should stop bull-shitting about democracy, peace, justice, and freedom. Your husbands, children, and wives are dying so that you can drive your car. PERIOD. They kill and die for oil. So no pity on them

  • I get so sick of people blaming the US for this war.Look how many people died on 9/11 what the hell was America to do ? If nothing had been done they would have killed more Americans,so I'm sick of everyone blaming the US for this war

  • 9/11 was terrible. But Americans, are you ignorant or repugnant? Stop aligning 9/11 and Iraq. There are two wars here: Iraq and Afghanistan. Two different situations.

No one attacks Americans on Afghanistan. Iraq. Iraq. When u talk about war, try and use country names. It helps. Let me help you. Search for this in youtube.

Bush denies linking Saddam and 9/11

  • i understand what your saying but . Iraq did not do anything too us terrorist groups did. and lets face it if there was nothing for us to benefit from this war we would not be over there. do u know how many genocides are going on right now in africa. if we care so much we would be over there helping but nope cus there is nothing we can benefit over there witch is sad so this country is about money and what we can benefit from world. and it really should be about helping ppl

  • You know what chrischutebox, I am very happy to read what you wrote. You are the first honest American I have read in this whole trashy place. Honestly, I have trashed this place with my own shit.

  • You can support our troops and not be for this war. Like my mom always told us "u dont have to respect what the person is doing but u can respect what they are going threw"

  • "War may sometimes be a necessary evil. But no matter how necessary, it is always an evil, never a good. We will not learn how to live together in peace by killing each other's children."

    - Jimmy Carter, Nobel Peace Prize Recipient

  • While this is a true statement, what do we do when we see someone killing their own people? do we turn our backs on those crying out for our help? without war there will never be peace. I would love peace, but there are evil men and women out there, and it's up to the few good men and women to stand up for what's right. I respect your opinion and understand what you are saying, but people come to us begging us to help them, save them, are we to turn our backs on them?

  • and u can support the troops.. even if u believe what there doing is wrong.. they need the support no matter what.. but if people dont support the war.. maybe its time they looked into things and really find out the truth so they understand.. sometimes i try to think of it as not war.. its going and helping others.. but there is war in doing so..

  • lol no, you cant support the troops without supporting the cause, dont you get it? if you say the cause is wrong, then your saying what their dying for is wrong. That means they died for nothing. If thats what you call supporting the troops, you must not be "all there".

  • so your saying.. even tho my friends don't agree with war they should be able to support me in my decision to go to war? they don't believe that our troops should be there doing someone else's job.. so they can't support me and tell me they hope i come home safe and same with the other troops which would have become my friends??

    good job buddy

so im sure you can still support the troops even if you believe what their told to do is wrong...

  • dont support the war if u dont want to.. but support the men and woman who do the shit we wont..

i just finished my papers work today for the canadian military

  • Let me get one thing straight, you can not support the troops if you dont support the war. Why? because theu are there for that cause and you saying thats a bullshit cause, is telling us we are there for nothing, we are dying for nothing. We all fight for the cause, and i thank you for signing up, every little bit helps.

  • Lots of people dont know why were going over there and doing what we do.... sure people are dieing which totally sucks.. but there the ones who wanted to make a difference.. if only people could understand.. and not just think were going over there to blow shit up.. its not even like that.. other people should have the same rights all over the world.. but they dont which is sad.. so thats why were over there..

  • Why must everyone state the "we lost the war".Sorry people wbut our troops won the "war" in only a few days. What we are fighting now is NOT a war.

  • saying the war is a mistake, and that we failed the war, is a disgrace to the troops, so please, for me and my fellow troops, dont do it.

  • Let me be perfectly clear, we respect and support our troops. THEY are on the front lines dying. They are NOT the ones who failed, that honor clearly belongs to the current administration.

  • let me be perfectly clear, by saying the was was lost, and that we did accomplish the goal, is saying we failed. And we didnt fail, Saddam is out of power, we are setting up a government, we are training iraqi soldiers, and we are terminating terrorists every day. Look at how many more people died in WW2 and we are complaining now! ya i dont like soldiers to die, but thats what we are here to do. We have killed 10x the amount they have. The war is not lost.

  • affroman26 The war was not a mistake,if we had not responded to terrorism the way we did, this country would have been attacked a lot more.Thank you for your service to this great country we live in

  • thank you reldnahc10, its nice to hear some encouraging words, we dont get that alot. Its nice to know there still are people that care.

  • "So no matter how frustrating the fight in Iraq can be, no matter how much we wish the war was over, the security of our country depends directly on the outcome of Iraq."

    President George W. Bush

    April 20, 2007

  • Touching video... so what were the soldiers sent to fight for?

  • Thank you for that.

  • Nice shot of British soldiers at the start...

Not that I don't honor our colleagues from the mother country.

Just wish the producers of this video knew what the hell they were doing... which they don't.

  • Thank you for the correction! I am not (obviously) a person with military experience, so I apologize for the incorrect image. However, what I DO know has not changed: the war with Iraq is a tragedy which is needlessly taking more lives everyday. My prayer is that George Bush will eventually admit his mistakes and bring our troops home.

  • I agree; the decision to go to war with Iraq was a tragic mistake. And the execution has been an equal disaster. But we did it. And if we leave, genocide will ensue. Ours and the Iraqis' best hope is the current plan, slim chance it has.

  • I must respectfully disagree. The decision to go was not the mistake. The estimation of the time required to complete the mission was the mistake, but Saddam was a criminal on his way to becoming a major world player. There was nothing to do but remove him.

  • So if they said, "instead of a few weeks, this war will actually last a decade at least if not longer" then the mistake would've been corrected and everything would've been alright?

  • As much as you apparently think life is like a t.v. show, wrapped up in 30 or 60 minutes, in reality it is not. Sometimes doing what is right takes time and sacrifice, things that are seemingly foreign to you. The decision to go remains the right thing to have done. the mistake was the estimation of the scale to complete the mission.

Sorry that life doesn't fit your attention-deficit world-view.

  • Your screen handle suggests that you respect justice. I don't believe it would have been just to allow Saddam Hussein to remain in power. He was a thug and a criminal. It is true that we underestimated the amount of time it would take to finish the job, but to go was not a mistake.

  • Howdy.

Sorry, but Saddam WAS contained with tactical airpower. The land invasion was doomed; there was no way to win the hearts and minds of the tribal and religious groups in Iraq. Moreover, we never had NEARLY enough troops to ensure security. Iraq can only be unified by brute force (Saddam)-- something the US is in no way prepared or willing to do (and rightfully so.)Anybody who thought we could create a pluralistic republican democracy in Iraq was delusional.

  • the soldiers at the start are diggers mate. that is they are aussies (they are wearing aussie kit and clothing). we (the british) have different kit and clothing. am fully behind the us, uk and australian troops but lets try and get it right, it's good for morale, (an ex-british squaddie).

  • And a big apology from here... I didn't look closely enough. Honors to both our great British and Australian colleagues--always side by side with us. Thank you for your service.

  • im touching.. so sad alot of army died

  • You have no idea how much this video means to me! He was gone last Christmas but will be home this year. Thank you for your video!

  • That was a really sweet video. The song always makes me cry because my grandpa said he'd make it home for christmas(even though he wasnt a troop in iraq he was a retired AF pilot)but he died 2 weeks before.

  • Thank you

  • There are no words other than Thank You

  • Very touching and a sad reminder of what this immoral war has caused.
