mgs4 is BY FAR the worst in the series. The story is fucking terrible. They put waaaaay 2 much time into pointless storylines like the stupid akiba meryl relationship, the boss fights with the weird chicks were NOTHING compared to mgs3's boss fights, they made the game SO easy with the money. The second half of the game is like 70% cutscenes...im a huge mgs fan and when im complaining about cutscenes you KNOW its bad. Its a great game but BY FAR the worst in the series. BY FAR.

no he made the first one for the msx system which was later ported over to the Nes... Hideo Kojima had nothing to do with the sequel.. "Snakes Revenge." That and there was some major changes in the original... the american version you fought a computer instead of a big boss.... I think,,, something along those lines.

Your right Hellhound I do want a remake of Metal Gear 1 & 2 from the MSX/NES. Many gamers that play MGS1 think that is the fist Solid Snake story. The original Metal Gear needs to be redone. Those two old classic is being ported to the Wiiware. I won't bad mouth it. Those two are still a good game. But damn remake those. They remade MGS1 on the GameCube. Why not those two master pieces? I agree a remake of Metal Gear 1 & 2.Just called it Metal Gear to show the original respect in a remake. ^_^

As badass as Solid snake is, I always liked Raiden more, even in MGS2: SOL on ps2 and when he returned in MGS4, that sealed the deal. As good as MGS4 is(and I recommend it for all PS3 owners) I thought MGS3: Snake Eater was better

I have no doubt about it that MGS Rising will be same genre as Ninja Gaiden.
Kojima teased us with a easteregg in Snake Eater about it, its a mini-game you can play it if you fall asleep than you're in a dream world and monsters attacks you, there must be some youtube videos about it, i think this is the very first alpha build of MGS Rising just with random enemy types just for tests.
Kojima isn't a idiot, his games have so much depth in the story no other games can mess with this.
Yeah but in that dream we had a character much more badass than Raiden or Snake could ever be, he was on Dante level or even above that, he wasnt even human he was a monster. I wanted that to be kojima's next game with that character.
I think the character and all the enemies in this mini-game were only just for some tests nothing special.
I want to see MGS Rising is placed in the future somewhere between Snatcher and Policenauts (cyberpunk age), Raiden fighting against some Metal Gears that would be so fucking epic, indescribable.
My personal speculation is that it will be the sequence of events between mgs2 and mgs4 where we see Raiden's growth into what he was in mgs4 considering he gets his physical human body back in mgs4 and he's shown as a cyborg self in mgR.
I still want Kojima to make a game out of the Nightmare sequence in mgs3 because it was badass, seriously. His projects as of right now seem to be Castlevania Lords of Shadow and possibly Zone of the Enders 3

Why even bother making such a character either? if it was just a nightmare sequence he could have put snake in there with the swords or a faceless dummy but instead we got a fully clothed character of unknown non human origin with a design unlike mgs or anything kojima has done before and godlike strength where he could rip the chest cavities of giant werewolf policemen open.
Ask Kojima if you meet him :) but Kojima also said MGS Rising will be a spin-off and another team is working on it, it might be still a good game but personally think that Castlevania will be better than MGS Rising.
Yeah I used to think that dream sequence was a referance to the castlevania games. I don't think MGS Rising was even being thought of back when MGS Snake eater was being created. Some of the sword moves in that dream sequence are very simular to the trailer of kojima productions castlevania game. Also kojima loves putting easter eggs into his games

Yep, ever since I picked up FF7 on the ps1 that was it for me, i knew i would be playstation for life. The intro music and the first theme you hear in that reactor/victory fanfare, how i was a big DBZ fan back then and thought Cloud looked alot like SSJ1 teen gohan only furthering the experience for me.

Damn I forgot to mention, I don't know if you already know this, Hellhound but there's a feature coming to PS3 that will enable psp owners to play any ad-hoc (nearby multiplayer) games to connect to these online servers through the ps3 to play online!! Imagine Monster Hunter, Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, Grand Theft Auto and all those other great ad hoc games online! :D
Great first title to present. Actually one of the best. The metal gear series has always been a one out of many reasons to own a Playstation system. MGS4 just is technically a showcase for the start of what could be done on the PS3 hardware, and really does kick any Halo series on a technical basis really hard. A big thanks goes out to Hideo Kojima for always loving the Playstation brand for all his major, big budget creations. Great vid hellhound.

Raiden did went to a lot a shit but not as much as Solid Snake, the ending of MGS 4 almost puts a tear in my eye when Big Boss is Dying in front of Solid Snake at the grave of The Boss and John might be the next protagonist but It Would be Cool if Kojima Make A Metal Gear Solid with the Main Character Begin The Boss From MGS 3.

Kojima isn't a idiot, his games have so much depth in the story no other games can mess with this.

Yeah but in that dream we had a character much more badass than Raiden or Snake could ever be, he was on Dante level or even above that, he wasnt even human he was a monster. I wanted that to be kojima's next game with that character.

I think the character and all the enemies in this mini-game were only just for some tests nothing special.
I want to see MGS Rising is placed in the future somewhere between Snatcher and Policenauts (cyberpunk age), Raiden fighting against some Metal Gears that would be so fucking epic, indescribable.

My personal speculation is that it will be the sequence of events between mgs2 and mgs4 where we see Raiden's growth into what he was in mgs4 considering he gets his physical human body back in mgs4 and he's shown as a cyborg self in mgR.
I still want Kojima to make a game out of the Nightmare sequence in mgs3 because it was badass, seriously. His projects as of right now seem to be Castlevania Lords of Shadow and possibly Zone of the Enders 3

I agree bro... and when I played that "Nightmare" I remember thinking why did they go to all the trouble to introduce a whole new game play mechanic in mgs 3... but you know how sneaky Hideo Kojima always is...

Why even bother making such a character either? if it was just a nightmare sequence he could have put snake in there with the swords or a faceless dummy but instead we got a fully clothed character of unknown non human origin with a design unlike mgs or anything kojima has done before and godlike strength where he could rip the chest cavities of giant werewolf policemen open.

Ask Kojima if you meet him :) but Kojima also said MGS Rising will be a spin-off and another team is working on it, it might be still a good game but personally think that Castlevania will be better than MGS Rising.

Yeah I used to think that dream sequence was a referance to the castlevania games. I don't think MGS Rising was even being thought of back when MGS Snake eater was being created. Some of the sword moves in that dream sequence are very simular to the trailer of kojima productions castlevania game. Also kojima loves putting easter eggs into his games

Yep, ever since I picked up FF7 on the ps1 that was it for me, i knew i would be playstation for life. The intro music and the first theme you hear in that reactor/victory fanfare, how i was a big DBZ fan back then and thought Cloud looked alot like SSJ1 teen gohan only furthering the experience for me.

Damn I forgot to mention, I don't know if you already know this, Hellhound but there's a feature coming to PS3 that will enable psp owners to play any ad-hoc (nearby multiplayer) games to connect to these online servers through the ps3 to play online!! Imagine Monster Hunter, Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker, Grand Theft Auto and all those other great ad hoc games online! :D

Great first title to present. Actually one of the best. The metal gear series has always been a one out of many reasons to own a Playstation system. MGS4 just is technically a showcase for the start of what could be done on the PS3 hardware, and really does kick any Halo series on a technical basis really hard. A big thanks goes out to Hideo Kojima for always loving the Playstation brand for all his major, big budget creations. Great vid hellhound.

Dont talk smack on Raiden, he redeemed himself and should be even more badass in Risisng, sucks that kojima isn't involved..kinda sucks that it's multiplat..but i just want it to be a good game we can all enjoy and a good part of the metal gear subseries.

You know he had to feel it too, artificial nerves or not he screamed so you know there was pain. I'm happy he got a good ending too, got his body back and ended up with Rose and his son John, it's what he deserved after all the crap we and kojima put him through. I wonder if John will become a future protagonist because we see him playing with a toy katana and saying he wants to be just like dad.

Raiden did went to a lot a shit but not as much as Solid Snake, the ending of MGS 4 almost puts a tear in my eye when Big Boss is Dying in front of Solid Snake at the grave of The Boss and John might be the next protagonist but It Would be Cool if Kojima Make A Metal Gear Solid with the Main Character Begin The Boss From MGS 3.
