We are overpopulated. Technology has allowed the world population to explode to over 9 billion. Without technology, the worlds natural food production could only support about 1 billion.
I think Californian's are in for a shock once the population doubles (60 million) by 2030 - I think. It's odd the UK (my place) is also having issues with water supply - hard to believe in such a wet country.
also we dont ever waste our water we waste an other states water becasue Cali cares so mush about our eviorment they dont care about an other states eviorment wich is kinda smart just like USA hardly uses its oil supplies they use an other countries oil.
everyone in Cali take water for granted we use water more to take showers and to make our lawns look beutiful. we hardly use it to drink . i know because i used to live there and i took 40 minute long shower and my friends ,family, everyone takes either takes 40 min or 1:05 minute long shower thats how we take in the showers and dont get me started on lawns because everyone there have pretty lawns and every night sprinklers pop out and take about 10 min to water lawn
Why dont we tell LA if you want a lawn on your front lawn, fork over 3,000 dollars. Then we can have them pave over there front lawns with stones and save water!!!
Thank you for this very informative video. I'm currently working on a presentation for my geography class about California's waterchallenge and this really helped me a lot.

With Obama's healthcare plan we can assure water for all the living people by letting the sick old useless people die.. also the mentally handicapped and those with low iq's
To Whoever Is "ne0nsurf", which I can tell is a stupid ass person already, Good luck trying to kick us Beaners off Cali, Cali used to be Mexico but the white man stole it from us, but we are getting it back don't worry, at least we do not let foreigners run our country, we only let our own kind in office. Sucker. Baaaay Areaaaa All Day Everday.
if it weren't for spanards who made mexico a nation in 1810 then the white man wouldn't have bought it from you. Don't act like you've been around forever.
you imbecile you wanna tell me we can convert water into electricity efficiently but be baffled to turn saltwater into freshwater which would just be a 2 stage process. Water has been desalinated since the 4th century B.C ...I suggest you start swearing after you educate yourself but then again maybe you'd rather then make a contribution that does nOt expose your low I.Q.
theory problem with mind it can only look at one aspect at a time so we are creating the interpretation of what is known by subjective experiment in other words we cannot see totality at any one time its only because you are thinking it at that moment in time.its like having a circle of limitation or parameters.and you cannot see outside that circle due to limits of subjectivity experience.and just maybe you cannot come up with an experiment to know it.create experiment to know.
Becoming more efficient is certainly a good thing and yah to the farmers and home owners for their heroic efforts. Higher efficiency or more dams is far from solving the real problem: population. A switch to different crops etc. is a short run solution. For the future, I'd rather not be subjugated to Soylent Green or a Purple Still Suit.
Industry has to give, because its purpose is not to keep on producing but to produce enough. If they get to keep the 4 low-efficiency crops and the rest of natural water is harnessed, that will make people lose more than with the industry giving in to the needs of the population. Maybe it is time to say good bye to the farming land, or simply give up the thirsty crops. You should not build a new dam system.
Thanks to all the nonsense the Democrats have been involved in, CA recently began to lose population.

You can't really say 'fair share of water', because sufficient basics of life are not dependent on other people, as is fairness.
