Assassins creed 1 was diffiult to play compared to the second one and Assassins creed 1 was fun untill actually killed someone then it repeats but ac 2 is fun it has story line i feel like i can connect with Ezio and his family all the assassins creeds after the first one are better.
Assassins Creed 1 was great up until your second assassination... and then everythings just the same. the assassinations themselves were great but the horse-riding to the cities got annoying (especially if you didnt play loads, as you had to do it EVERY TIME), then you had to do the annoying pickpocket/beat-up missions, then you get to the good bit. AC1 had depth but only in a few parts of the game, the rest of it was repetitive and boring
@HennieJoe I agree, at least assassins creed 1 looks better on pc than AC:Rev on xbox, a 5 year old pc game looks better than a 1 week old xbox game! lol!
Voice acting (Which is a shame,because assassin's creed had LESS voice actors)
More fluent combat (Note how when you combo in Assassin's creed, your character has transition animations, whereas in ac2 there is no transition, he just goes right into the animation)
Just finishing up AC2 (yes i know im very late to the party, trying to finish all AC's as soon as possible so i can jump in Revelations sometime after its released), and i must say so far i think i had alot more fun in AC1, i like the timeline more, the dark grey atmosphere, all the conspiracies, etc. AC2 is too colorful for my taste, also the story doesnt really interest me as much, i also feel its alot easier than the first and the kills dont matter as much. Thats my opinion
but when the bullshit starts to come, the game will become shitty. the game was DESTROYED with AC Brotherhood. they just added more bullshit and sex.
AC1 requires thinking, unlike other ACs, it also makes you search for info. before assassinating.(knowing the target, nailing the target) while in other ACs you're just going to walk like Call of Duty and kill everyone on your way, got the platinum trophy so easily in AC2.
I dont know if anyone noticed..the camera in ac 1 is different in ac2 by means of angle..i think altair is bigger or more zoomed in than ezio...i prefer altairs camera it makes him bigger when you play....

Something about the first one is that you spent so much time planning that one important moment, learning everything about your target that when that moment finally comes and the man you must kill shows his face, it's much more intense,theres much more worth to the big moment

Altiar was born in the creed, knowing nothing else but the way of an assassin. The graphics are better on AC2, you get a choice on weapons and armor, and you can buy groups to help you! I love Assassin's creed, ALLOT. But AC2 is allot more fun. You can do allot more.

SOrta like in Oblivion vs Morrowind, where in morrowind you become Archmage not by the archmage sould trapping himself to kill the necromancers or something, but by completing assignments, and by eventually getting a messanger from the chancilor and deuling the archmage.
Graphics are WORSE in ac2. The lod is shit, and uses a system to make it SEEM detailed when it's not. You have to buy the weapons, and ending
The strange thing is, 1 was more fun for me than 2. It wasn't that 2 was bad, that you actually got to swim was pretty cool and you had a better variety of weapons. But 1 had more of an "open field" environment, whereas 2 oddly felt more restricted. The targeting in 1 was slow but I didn't have any problems with it. And I guess I liked the story/world a little better in 1 and I didn't like Ezio. And the story after 2 started to slide.

he just did not have the same Badass Attitude. Which Altiar had. i can think that the story went a little far in ac2 & bortherhood. (By that i referr to the Abstergo story) I think its just a little wierd with all that abstergo is the templars And the Creed still exist Etc. It maybe was better back when i thought abstergo was just some greedy rich & powerful company wanting more power by getting the pieces of eden And fetched Desmond to look at some memories from an assasin in the crusades etc.

They took out so many fighting moves ftlrom ac1 like the strong attack and the stun attack and the enemies actually could kill you in ac1 cause they countered and didnt all run away like bitches
AC2 is may be better in gameplay and side quests. But AC1 had a better time setting and was more about business and you felt more into the game except the damn repetitive investigations.
PLUS in assassin's creed 2, if you like Altair more then Ezio, but think the gameplay is better then AC1,you can get an Altair skin with uplay points.
@fragoulis13 I can't stress this enough. If you don't play assassins creed 2, then assassins creed brotherhood will not make very much sense. You don't HAVE to play AC1 to understand AC2, but that is definately preferred.
I think that the story of ac 1 is cooler because there were more conspiracies and the cutsecenes are cooler. And I don't like it in ac 2 that you don't have to kill your enemies with the secret knife! There's this guy on the boat and I shoot him while I am 20 m away and then at the cutscene I hold him in my arms!!
@Antidoxy I agree about the Assassins creed 1 it was better because it was more competitive, where it was just slash after slash and slice after slice, In AC2 they introduced the Fire arm where it made it easier to kill your target but you got to agree the games do get better after each series.
@ezioassassain yeah true! It is more complex! In 2 it is just like e got his family killed and wants to kill their killers and meet other assassins on his journey and in the first altair solves more and more of the story and at the end its all different because his master is the bad guy! :)
assassins creed 2 is indeed better but i still enjoyed the first one a lot more just because i find the second one a little too colorful and joyful. i miss the gray and depressive settings because it made the game a lot more fun to play. i don't know why....
@toyotasupramaster Altiar is better. He goes by the creed, unlike Ezio who rallies the people, your suppossed to be an ASSASSIN not a Robin Hood clone! Oh yeah I went there, and lived to tell the tale.

AC2 ain't that much better, it's too easy for starters. It's like they soften it up for children and half the work is done for you. Still good game tho. I think on AC3 the enemies should have guns aswell!
Played both, liked them equally. But I liked AC1 Creed more at the moment I started playing because the graphics were beyond anything I had ever played before.
Yeah, I know, I don't sound like any games you'd find out there. But I like games where you have to find out information about your target, then kill him. I don't like it when half of the job is already done for you, and you just need to go and kill the target.

I like 2 alot better, its more fun, and it looks better.... plus, you can also go through the catacombs to find Assassin's tombs to get Altair's armor
Basically with this game, most if not all of the problems you had with the first are now resolved or greatly improved. No repetitiveness, better combat, better graphics, better movement, just better everything. You should definitely pick this game up sometime.

Personally, I hated the 1st Assassin's Creed. I never owned it, but my neighbor/friend did and I saw him play it and it looked boring. When AC 2 was coming out, I was looking up how much better it got. And when the scores from the reviews showed to be so much higher than those of the 1st game, I decided to get the game., It took me time getting used to, but unlike the 1st game, I actually liked Assasin's Creed II. In fact, it's on my top 5 games of 2009.

Combat isn't as fluent, and Ezio's jumping around in positions with no transition animation between them
These 'groups' aren't immersive companions, but just little groups that die quickly.

AC1 gets very frustrating but I the graphics are pretty damn good.. in AC2 they messed up some of the characters with graphics but AC2 is much more enjoyable. I SOOO CAN't WAIT UNTIL BROTHERHOOD COMES OUT THOUGH :DDDDDDDD

AC2 ain't that much better, it's too easy for starters. It's like they soften it up for children and half the work is done for you. Still good game tho. I think on AC3 the enemies should have guns aswell!

Basically with this game, most if not all of the problems you had with the first are now resolved or greatly improved. No repetitiveness, better combat, better graphics, better movement, just better everything. You should definitely pick this game up sometime.

Personally, I hated the 1st Assassin's Creed. I never owned it, but my neighbor/friend did and I saw him play it and it looked boring. When AC 2 was coming out, I was looking up how much better it got. And when the scores from the reviews showed to be so much higher than those of the 1st game, I decided to get the game., It took me time getting used to, but unlike the 1st game, I actually liked Assasin's Creed II. In fact, it's on my top 5 games of 2009.
