a complete dodge or chrysler vehicle dress it up a little jack -up the price and voila we have a volkswagen routan...my 2008 dodge GC SXT 3.8 is not as fast but i still can do good runs...
Ive always found it amusing and looked at it with a bit of jelousy how you americans have these big engines in everything and how an average pickup or SUV in the US is as fast in a straight line as an average hot hatch in Europe :) . If you have 150 or 160 bhp and an engine that is more than 2.0 in Europe is considered quite above average already and in the US that is nothing.
I live in Canada and I share your view...I have a VW Passat with a 2.0T engine that makes 200 hp, and to think it's slower than a minivan is quite upsetting :P
@Iridium725 Hehe I used to drive a Passat for two years, only without the turbo (150bhp), otherwise same FSI engine. Id love to have yours, its a great engine, same as in Golf GTI, you should be happy. You can always chip it if you feel its inadequate.
@chrisotstberg not sure if that is why vw didnt put the 0-60 online if the taureg hybrid does it in under 6! i do wish the routan had the vw v6 not the pentestar though...
@pyramid011 - LOL, totally right. Take away my mullet card. Edited to 3rd Gen. By the 4th gen, the LT1 should be able to keep them in front of just about any minivan.
@tylerspyler2 - The Cherokee was about 8.5 seconds 0-60 when it was stock. After going to 30" tires and lifting it 2", it went down to about 9 seconds. It had a lot of torque though, felt great 0-30. This Pentastar engine doesn't feel as torquey but comes on really strong above 5,000 RPM. I'd like to drive this engine in a 2-door Wrangler with the 6-speed manual!
@ChrisOstberg Tell me about it, had a 2000, but weirdly it had poor "off-the-line" torque, once above 3k it would pul hard enough to spin third on a wet road. I am driving a 98 and it has gobs of torque at low RPM, and decient upper hp as well. 2 years apart, yet so different.
In tht first clip, do u have the exhaust disconnected or something? cuz mine isnt tht loud

Did you ever do a 0-60 on the jeep? for what a minivan is, they have alot of cajonas.
