Tankendo: tanken vs tanken

Sometimes I do Tankendo on my Kendo trainings using short shinai VS normal shinai.

I think after I am done it jodo and Iaido will go to tankendo

It is strange for me that they are using a short weapon like they would use a sword.

Doesn't seem effective. Filipino knife competations are much closer to reality.

No I practice kendo, but i'am interested in tankendo now.
