Good basic drill. Works to develop basic coordination and lateral movement. A good progression would be adding a split step somewhere in the middle and feed the ball randomly (not just left to right). Good work
To the young lady in the clip, please ignore the retards below. I doubt any can play the game. The comment about catching the ball, spoken by someone who should do some research on motor skills specific to racquet sport. If youo cant catch it retard, you cant hit it.
@Flyyyy Granted she may not be moving quickly and it's not as intensive of a workout as you described but she's working on many key aspects involved with tennis: footwork, eye hand coordination and reaction time.

Terrible exercise for lateral movement. She is moving slowly. Training her muscles to move slowly.
Does a tennis player ever have to catch a ball during their match? The answer would be no. So why do it. And why it slowly?
What she should be doing is sprinting full speed......from line to line, cutting violently to change direction as quickly as possible.
Tennis training is so far behind other sports is laughable.
