  • Hey Charlie, What do you think the effects will be on the human body when dropped from a plane outside of the Sound Barrier?

  • Hahaha I love how you point at your head to represent 'Earth' :')

  • you should do antimatter

  • ummm...do dark matter...

or aliens!!!!!! yeaaa...the possibility of there being Aliens or something...:D

I LOVE your videos by the way...if you wanted to know...even though thousands of others have said the very same thing!...Still love them! yep...Ill be done now.

  • I sang along with the endscreen song.

  • After he said that half his face is being lighted by the light & the other half is being lighted by the sun, did anyone else just stare at his face and compare both sides of his face for the rest of the video ? Or was it just me? Haha

  • such a nerd... it makes me smile!

  • Hey charlie! i would like you to cover almost everything to to with science!

  • Hey Charlie could you make a video on meteors, comets/shooting stars, talking about their differences and stuff? :) thank you. I'm from Malaysia and I love you and your videos xx

  • You are mistaken about it being 30 thousand years for the energy generated in the core of the sun to escape. You are off by a factor of 1000. It is THIRTY MILLION YEARS, NOT thirty thousand. I mean, come on, how could you think the thermal time constant of the sun is only 30 thousand years, just use your common sense, man. Unsurprisingly enough, in the 19th century, before the mechanism for the sun's power was discovered, scientists thought the earth/sun were a few tens of millions of years old.

  • Pause vid & press 7 I'm peeing myself with laughter! ¦'-)

  • You should do a Fun Science of Dark and or Anti Matter

  • I love Fun Science! We need another one Charlie. And this was probably the best end screen ever. So catchy and rather hilarious!

  • You should do a fun science on how things in si-fi movies DON'T happen

  • what do you use to edit your videos ?

  • This is awesome, I wish all my science teachers were this excited about the subject

  • I want Charlie to be my science teacher

  • Next time I'll eat an aplle pie I'll first hold an moment of silence dedicated to the little star which gave it's "life" for it. Thank you little star, thank you.

  • Be my science teacher cause it would be awesome but like wasnt that last glee episode awesome

  • he should do one about cells (any, unicellular, etc.)

  • Lets see...

do a Fun Science : D about genetic codes

i want to see how much Charlie McDonnell knows about our genetic sequences and such and i, as a sciency individual, am really interested in dna and such so if you people will please, thumbs up so Charlie can read this cause unlike you silly and completely unrelated top comment seekers, i actually am being productive here and am offering Charlie a real idea for a groovy and interesting Fun Science : D

if you respect science, do us a favour c:

  • you should be my teacher, so, you, me, classroom, now.

  • This helps my School topic I am now the smartest person in school

  • Science IS awesome! Please can u make a fun science about the human body? xx

  • Random fact: At 1:00, you see a picture with stars that have four points on them, but the four points aren't actually part of the star. You see those points because the light from the stars reflects across the metal cross in the telescope used to take the picture.

  • this was the first charliissocoollike video i came across, my teacher showed it to me in a Physics lesson. ;) X

  • omg it's so simple informations.

  • INSANE!!!! IM MADE FROM STAR STUFF!!!! Im gonna start saying that, then seeing the looks on people's faces.

  • Stars=BETTER THAN GLEE! I agree..

  • Christians just got owned

  • @MoviesFromG well he never explained what the hard scientific evidence was...

  • its the end screen song luv it

  • It's really not hard scientific evidence, it's conjecture, speculation, the scientist have no more proof than religion does that we came from creation "God".

  • Can you be my teacher? I'm English too! Or as Americans say, British!

  • Id really love him to do a video about dreams!

  • Oh, I think I've actually heard of that 'sun' thing...

  • Oh...I thought you meant Team Plasma....so that means Team Plasma are made of Plasma? O.o

  • "There is somewhere in the region of 200 to 400 billion stars just in our Milky Way galaxy, and then there are over 170 billion galaxies in our observable universe." DUDE, NO EDGE.

  • @Zetany1000 yup

  • RAWWWWWRRRR :p

comment yo ;) science of heat energy ;) plzzzzz xoxoxxoxox

  • so does tht mean tht the sun cld explode!!!!! :O

  • @Zetany1000 no, it means the sun WILL explode

  • Have you ever thought about becoming a science teacher? You do a better job than the teachers in my school. D:

  • Science Idea: Oceans and how they formed

  • I like the way he said freakin huge lol!

  • Next science video: Human sexuality!

  • YOU MAKE LEARNING LESS PAINFUL FOR MY BRAIN! :D

  • YAY Neil deGrasse Tyson and Carl Sagan!!

  • Watching Fun Science is my way of preparing for the Science Competition I'm going to next weekend.

  • Your science bits are the best

  • I would like to sing along, but The Endscreen Song is too short. :<

  • so, technically, if the sun is one huge star, is it possible for another star to be created just the size of the sun? and we could have more than one sun?

  • @MooMooxoisaHumanoid LOL! The sun is not that big. Many stars are like a thousand times larger than the sun. They just look small because they are so far away.

  • wow im feeling small . . .

  • oh the places we could go <3

  • LOL Science is AWESOME!!!!

  • buh-buh-but i thought stars were made of hydrogen! my childhood has been lit on fire and beaten by your sciencing!

  • you are such a sexy nerd.

  • If you had made a video like this about everything I had to learn for high school exams, I would have aced them. I actually love science when you talk about it. At school, not the case.

  • I was standing out on my lawn looking at the stars and noticed they were twinkling, which to be honest I never really something i've thought of before (beyond 'twinkle, twinkle little star'), and it made me think about how they only look like they're twinkling because of the light being refracted when it goes through the atmosphere. Thanks for teaching me that Charlie :)

  • Charlie! When are you making more fun science videos?!

  • if we r made from the sun the y dont we have the ability to out stand the hot fire from the sun or just a little fire from a match and y cant we look at the sun for a while with out going blind it is just not posible for us to be made by a mutation star it is just something that is dangerous to the world people plants animals EVERYTHING but still it just isnt right would u possibly just say this to confuse us or make us feel stupid

  • No twinkly stars...................dead

  • we are literally made of star stuff....sounds like something the doctor would say XP

  • We are literally made.... of stardust! (like my version better)

  • you should be a teacher o.O

  • Awesome

  • @clodybody38 um no, Sol isn't a supermassive star, it's an average sized star. Black holes are formed by stars capable of collapsing into an area so dense it creates a black hole. The milky way is rotating around a black hole, so do you really think our puny little star can create a black hole? No. It will just explode, sending elements into the universe to be used elsewhere.

  • Who needs wikipedia ? Charlie is hotter ..

  • turn your light off! you shouldnt be wasting electricty ;)

  • how about doing something about the inside of an atom

    that s pretty interesting

  • hey could you do a video on the atmosphere - my teacher thinks I am so smart when I repeat the things you say in class :)

  • The sun is going to explode in five billion years in a supernova and it is going to leave behind a black hole

  • How u find this out and star don't twinkle ur right

  • Oh, there just like your balls then!

  • Charlie, I think you should now rewrite the song "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" to be more scientifically realistic. :D

  • An advert for condoms came on before this video; Let's Get In On............Charlie

  • Stars don't twinkle???? :O

My childhood dreams are officially crushed...

  • im liker 34000 :P

  • Stars dying and exploding

  • How planets evolve

  • Do something on the human body:3

  • Where did your sister get the star lamp? :D I want one'!! :D :D

  • I'm using this for my next science project... :D

  • This actually scares the shit out of me.

  • ASTRID.

  • Question:

What do you mean when you say the light is 30,000 years old? You can't really "make/create light"... unless you're talking about the energy emitted with the H-->He reaction in the core.

Cause light waves travel at such a speed that it would take about 2 and half seconds to reach the surface of the Sun from the core. Is it the energy, rather than light, that you are referring to?

    P.S. nicely done :D I like it.

  • @iamcrispin the energy created in the core takes thousands of years to make its way through the radiation zone (the thickest part of the Sun, made of highly ionized gas). after this energy, in the form of radiation, gets through the radiation zone, it enters the convection zone, where in the form of heat, it travels via convection currents and makes its way to the photosphere (the "surface" of the Sun) and the energy is converted to, and escapes as, light, heat, and radiation. He is correct.

  • If an exploded star is a material that we are created from, so what had to happen for a star to be created?

  • @kamilayla1 gravity causes particles to attract (in this case, mainly hydrogen and helium, because almost all matter in the universe is the two simplest elements), and over time, they build into nebulae (clouds of gas). then, gravity causes them to compact farther, until they become protostars (basically baby stars). it becomes a star once the pressure inside, created by gravity, causes the temperature to reach 10 million Kelvin. that is when nuclear fusion begins -> aka a star

  • @IrishLebaneseBeast Thanks :)

  • @kamilayla1 oui, de rien mademoiselle!

  • pause and go to 2:51

  • ahh 666 dislikes are from unattractive people

  • @hero1112007 ahh shut up

  • 666 dislikes D:

  • technically the sun light is 8 minutes old :P

  • Why do you remind me of Doctor Who? lol

  • you should do air science cus thats your faveroute you said do in amsterdam :).

  • missing charlie's fun science videos..

  • Ooooh, you should make another fun science video!? :D

  • 'Planets. And rocks. And plants. And Ipods. And people.'

  • please explain genetics, i have a test coming up!

  • please explain genetics, i have a test coming up!

  • Humans weren't made of star stuff, we were created, by God. I like you a lot charlie but that's one thing you have wrong lol

  • So my mom was down the hall from my room and when Charlie said that we were made of the same things as stars I yelled, "YAY, I LIEK STARZ :D" and my mom knocked on my door and said, "Are you alright?"

  • Do a fun science on "The Human Species" xD

  • there is a geek dating ad. I think it's telling us something

  • Could you please do a FUN SCIENCE on Evolution

  • He's so cute :) :)

  • After being on youtube for a month now, I know how much hate people can give to me when reading these kinds of comments but I think smosh fans might be nicer.

My dream is to be a film maker but i cant get into film school, and I just got a 1000 subs, which is pretty impressive to me, but I'll never get noticed with these numbers.

If someone would have the heart just to give this a thumbs up and spend all of 30 seconds watching a vid, it would mean the world. Thank you all

  • pause at 0:24... :D

  • Ты отпадный *_*

  • Haha please, be my professor of astronomy ♥

  • i thought God made the stars and sun...oh yeah, he did, how did christianity evolve into this?

  • side note light doesn't take 30,000 years to get from the core to the surface but a 100,000 years

  • charlie is my science teacher

  • *so

  • Made of star stuff? No, I don't think do.

  • Tell me something I don't know. ~astronomer~

  • Keep going, boy.

  • Actually we are made of dust... read the Bible.

  • Will you be my teacher in school i might actually learn

  • will you pleaseteach me?

  • You got an A in science, didn't you?

  • Acing my science test... Thanks Charlie!

  • i think im in love with his accent....what about stars charlie?

  • I love Science.

  • Paradoxes!

  • If you made more science videos I might actually enjoy revising omg I love you. x x x x x

  • Super smart and super cute. Charlie wins.

  • lol he is so smart i didnt understand anything he said

  • Stars dont twinkle...DREAM KILLERRRR!!!!!!! =(((((( Ahh well still <3 thheessee viddeoosss :DDD

  • For some reason, knowing that I'm made out of star dust makes me feel like I should be able to fly. I have no reason why I think this.

  • lol, mum always said that I was a star child (:

  • I'M A FREAKING STAR x)

  • hahaha not glee awesome. proper awesome.

  • He should make a song about the elements. I know two songs already... the one that says all the elements known to man at the time and another by "They Might Be Giants."

  • End Screen

    End Screen

    End Screen

    Song!!!!!!!!

  • My insane physics teacher explained stars and the fact that we are made from them to my class in dark, classroom which he strutted around raising his arms and his voice dramatically, with loads of tiny tea-lights lit everywhere while the 'Circle of Life' from the Lion King played in the background... It was moving(: ...but you did it good too!

  • " as seen on Bad Astronomy"! LOL

  • Watching this when a geek dating advert pops up. It's fate ;)

  • Natural hazards...like tsunamis

  • SCIENCE IS AWESOME/

  • Learning science in a hot accent by a hot dude...I like c:

  • i love putting sub titles on, cuz they do not wat so ever know what he is saying

  • I wish I could talk about science for four minutes and get a million views...

  • "so if you do the math, there are quite a lot of stars"

    "if you do the math"

    "math"

    .....

  • CELLULAR RESPERATION!

    (Stolen)

  • fun Science: the theory behind parrellel universes and dimensions!!

  • @CrazedEvilDolly you rock for being a christian, you should be proud to be a christian. Im a christian too!

  • hahaha pause on 0:24!

  • Woo!

  • Hot, Smart and English :O <3

  • you should do fuels!! :D

  • thumbs up if you think his video was humerus, but slightly inaccurate

  • The sun is around 88 million miles away actually. And stars are not made of plasma.
