There is no such thing as a "soprano" C or a "soprano" G. There is Middle C - C4, the octave above middle C- C5 and a high C- C6. Same with G. The G consecutive with Middle C- G4 ,the octave above -G5 (which is what Kelly is hitting here) and THEN high G- G6!!! Have a nice day:)

Low C is the C3, Middle C is the C4, the term "High" in the piano starts with the A4 (not the C5 or C6) which is the baritone terminology that how those are treated. When you reach the note A5 you go on to the Soprano territory. Subsequently the A6 is part of the staccato pitch. This is the high G, and you will deal.

While it's impressive that she would be able to reach the soprano range in mixed voice with so little head resonance, these notes hardly constitute anything impressive. They always sound constricted and unclean, and she has to scream them to give any semblance of depth to them. Also, she cannot hold them or add vibrato to them. They are just high screams integrated into the mechanical execution of a melody, not proper singing.

@kellyclarksonismygod Thanks for the advice, LOL! I'm not saying that Kelly isn't talented or that she sings unwell. The fact that she can belt in the soprano range with considerable ease makes her exceptional indeed. However, she cannot add any vibrato to these notes, the tone is unclean and she doesn't sound relaxed while hitting them. I'm sure that, with further study, she will be able to sing sustained passages in this range - and she will sound amazing. However, as for now, she doesn't.

@Apozimiosi Actually, she does have the ability to reach g5s (and notes higher) with ease and resonance. The fact that she did get a little strained and constricted is due to overtouring/performing during 2005-2006 (her most popular period), causing her vocals to get tired and unfocused. If you look into her music during any other time in her career span you'll find that she can hit the notes with ease, resonance, vibrato, control and no strain whatsoever. Have a nice day (:

@Snookiiiii well, you can look into her high school video collection and see her singing in one of the many musicals she's done and actually hear her sing opera and definately do exactly as you have said clearly without a hitch in her voice for long periods of time and not even bat an eye let alone croak like a frog. When she tours she has a problem with sleep deprivation along with fighting off sicknesses you can get just from being in other countries. She's not always gonna be on her A game.

She's not an opera singer nor is she classical, though she has admitted that she's been classically trained. And she is able to sing opera or at least has been able to in the past. She has chosen to sing the genra of music she likes to sing. It's her style. So you can hash all you want about how you think she should sing. but right now, it's all hot air.
