wow!! i remember this!! i was on the bridge on lythalls lane watching it when i was little.. hard to believe the gasworks stood there now.. you know, with that fancy new development of a football ground and a massive tesco's! i liked it better when it was polluted ground with big steel structures! looked better!!
Leave all the gasometers, chimneys, cranes and cooling towers in place. I love them all. They make the landscape look heaps better. Don't turn them into heaps instead.
Have you ever visited the Isle of Grain in Kent. If ever there was a landscape that was improved by having big structures put on it, its that place: powerstations/ container port/ oil/gas storage facility. Love it.
