I too watched this show as a kid. If you listen to Mr Marshall closely, there is a meaning/message to it all. For me anyway. :) I did love this show and was totally in love with Will and he's the first person I knew what love felt like. Silly I know, but you don't forget your first real crush!
I think the guy that played "Will" had a terrible drug and alcohol problem. He could very dramatic. I loved the show. They never seemed to ever do it justice. Every later attempt, got worse and worse. Even though I liked the Will Ferrel version. I was disappointed that they didn't make it a serious movie.
As kid, I used to freak'n love this show. (I had a crush on Holly btw) I remember at 1 point it was on but during weekday mornings. I loved when we would have a school "snow day" (so I could stay home/watch it + play Atari 2600 too) or when I was too sick to go to school, but not sick enough that I couldn't at least partially enjoy just lounging around all day watching TV while Mom made me soup, hot coco, etc. Those were the days.
@Babynick150627 I didn't see the movie, but which time? He does trick them in one episode, he set them up to be captured by the Sleestaks, but not to go through the time doorway.
@Radioflyer911 I felt the same way as a kid, but I liked the Science fiction within the stories. Do you happen to know the name of the episode where Will, Holly, and Spot were floating in some extra dimension as a result of entering a special kind of pylon? It was the weirdest episode, but I thought it was also the coolest.
@Radioflyer911 but you gotta love the 'campy-ness' of the stories & everything they did. I miss those old movies where they used an actor in a gorilla suit stomping over a miniature city model like in the old King Kong movies. LOTL was the first TV show to pioneer all of the effects on film, building sets etc. I love it!
"see what i mean? foolin around with those things can be dangerous!....let me try a yellow with the red and blue!.... .... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!"
Great Videos they are so clear thanks again got your channel from my friend from down under,. You know Sid and Marty said the sets costs so much to make and that it cost so much to make these shows that they were in the red all the time. I think they auction those things years ago someone got them.
Thanks! This series was the greatest show Sid & Marty ever did, I wonder why? I saw on youtube a video of the "Grumpy" puppet for sale, I just saw it. it's funny how I just figured out that was a puppet ha ha!
Thank you, I don`t know much about copyright laws. thanks for your reply. I am also a fan of the 2001 Nero Wolfe series fom A&E. I noticed that You Tube does not have one episode. Maybe this is due to syndication laws or something.
bcause they are too long, & these are short stories (Chronicles), it is not legal to put an entire show on here.... go buy the DVD sets, they are worth it!
Watching this clip I liked when the father was thrown into the hole by the sleestack at 2:45 and you can see that he fell onto a trampline or something by the way the smoke reacted and his body kind of bounced. You didn't notice those things as a kid but now you notice all that stuff. Still a cool show though.. For what they had to work with they did a great job with the show I think.
It's amazing, I still don't know how they made them green, or how they made The Zarn creature. On the DVD's they interview the actors & they talked about the 'bouncing' up from the pit, scene. ha ha

The sleestak look cute with their big, round bug eyes. All they need are some eyelashes. :P

even back then I was about nine or ten and it looked fake but somehow I couldn't get enough of it. It kinda sucked you in. Bad acting and all.

Never try the yellow with the red and blue or you'll prolong the agony of an already sorry episode.

The production quality reminds me of the Dr. Who series from the 1970s with Tom Baker.

Not cool. why are you choping up the scenes. Its been sped up. This ruins how these shows were truly edited.
