  • How did Williams get Damon Hill's car right but not Senna's?????

  • @superkryp13 Driving style. Damon's was much smoother compared to Ayrtons.

  • @blainyrules i guess i could agre with you on that, but Ayrton wanted to win

  • @blainyrules And much slower too.

  • I've raced this track in iracing, class to see how to take it!!!

  • Never heard of Aida track.

  • @nagasako7 worst track ever.absolutelly no space to pass.that was the first year on that track.i think they run also in 1995 on Aida and then they dumped it,even with a five years contract.

  • @gestapo81 better than singapur or bahreyn..:)

  • haha you can tell Newey designed this car, very tightly packaged, look at how close his hands are to the edges of the car.

  • agreed, tho he qualified on pole for all three races that season... that FW07 was a bad car at the start of the season. By the time that senna reached Imola at the next race, he had scored no points at all. tragically that was the first race that the Williams had shown real pace this season.

This was the year that Active suspension got banned. so it wont look as smooth after the recent trasition back to conventional damping.

  • @chapmana22 sorry, meant FW16

  • what a horrible looking car to drive! its all over the place in the corners.

  • Vanuatu Grand Prix F1 2012

  • How is this footage so clear compared to footage in imola?

  • Aida = Okayama ?

  • @tjbayliss yes

  • senna is best dr

  • Very slow course. I remember. This race was a boring race after senna retirement. Schumacher won so easyli. If had a traction control in the B194? I think only he can give us an answer.

  • The fastest driver ever!!! A. Senna!!!

  • Bloody go- cart track.Thank heavens it was dumped for 1996.

  • This is not the pole lap. The pole lap was much more on the edge and a second faster.

  • The car looks hella pointy - watch from the exit of the right hander at about 0:37 to the next left.

  • this circuit is highly underrated. It has some real good sections and a good flow to it. Even the slow section adds to it.

  • This video just proves that what the Williams team claimed about their car having natural steering wheel flexing sideways is complete nonsense. Compare this to the onboard of his last lap at Imola. No flexing here whatsoever.

  • this is the T.I Circuit??

  • no chance of a good relationship, either, lol

  • Ayrton Senna would have ended his career with Ferrari, for sure. He would have spent maybe 1 or 2 more seasons with Williams, and spent 3 more seasons with Ferrari, and then he would have retired. In 1994 Williams had the best driving duo in GP racing, Senna and Damon Hill, if Senna hadn't been killed then Williams would have won another constructors championship for sure.

btw why was herbert's time so slow compared to senna's time? did he spin out or something?

  • keep your thoughts to yourself

  • based on that logic, same to you , dickhead !

  • both Senna and Schumi in Ferrari for 1996 and 1997? No chance for Villeneuve and Hill ;)

  • What makes you think Senna would want Schumacher as a team mate? What makes you think Ferrari would even consider signing Schumacher if Senna was still alive?

Besides back then Ferrari sucked and Senna only considered driving for them for a single season at the last year of his career, which may have been in 1998 or something, until then he would have won several titles with Williams since they were the best in the 90's

  • amen bro you said it !!!!!!!!!!

  • Senna would of loved to have Schumacher as a teammate. He never ran from a challenge, and to beat Schumacher in the same car would have been great inspiration for Senna.

  • @McLarenMercedes Their car was only epically better was 97. Even in 96 had Schummacher stayed at bennetton, he most probably would've given Senna a huge run for his money.

  • @engared no way! senna would have completely cruised to the title in the 96 williams

  • The 96 Williams car was fantastic while the Ferrari horrible.

Schumacher and Senna would have never been team mates.

  • @darkoneforce2

Actually the 1996 Ferrari had the pace on some tracks, which resulted in Schumacher having 4 poles with it. The V10 engine was powerful and promising. Unfortunately the reliability of the 1996 Ferrari was horrible.

In the very first race in Melbourne Irvine qualified 3'rd and Schumacher 4'th, which still made them better than all the other teams except for Williams.

  • @McLarenMercedes The car was only good towards the end of the season.

The Benetton was a fast car but it was difficult to drive.

  • Sorry. Senna only wanted to spend 1 season in Ferrari. Presumably the last of his career. You see he liked winning so much he would have won 3 titles with Williams if not more. Remember, he said he didn't care if the Ferrari was dreadful and uncompetitive, he just wanted to drive for them for 1 season. That's it.

And Wiliams DID win the constructors' championshio in 1994. It was the drivers' title they missed.

  • FIA gave Williams the constructors title with the 3 race ban on Schumacher (black flag incident).

Funny that in 97 Villeneuve never got a 3 race ban like Schumacher.

  • Villeneuve didn't get a black flag in 1997.

  • @darkoneforce2

Ferrari won the 1999 constructors' title despite now having Schumacher for 6 races.Irvine and Salo even finished 1-2 in Hockenheim, proving Ferrari were good enough even without Schumacher

For your info Benetton HAD been cheating with the floorboards ALL season so the 3 race ban was a light punishment. In fact any other team and driver would have lost ALL their points, but since that would have led to an outrage FIA decided against it

What did Villeneuve do to get a 3 race ban??

  • @darkoneforce2

Would you please explain to us all what Villeneuve did in 1997 to deserve a 3 race ban? Did he cheat? Did Williams cheat? Were they under any form of scrutiny? No.

Perhaps you have a selective memory but it was indeed Schumacher who tried to push Villeneuve out of the last race and for this he was punished by being stripped of ALL his points from that season.

What black flag incident you cretin?? Benetton was found to use illegal devices, mainly the wooden floorboard.

  • @darkoneforce2

Now it has also been revealed that Benetton cheated in 1994 with their fuelrigs. They removed a safety valve which made them save seconds in the pitstops. All the other teams were suspicious how they did it. As it turned out Jos Verstappen paid the price for that illegal fuel rig since his car started burning in the pits when they "accidently" spilled some fuel.

Flavio Briatore has been proven to be a cheater again and again, in 2008 he ordered Piquet J:r to crash.

  • @McLarenMercedes Flavio was also involved in that Renault crash in Singapore last year as well. Funny how his name keeps coming up when things happen in F1.

  • @darkoneforce2

Tyrrell lost all their points and places in the 1984 season because they had been cheating with the weight. Since Tyrrell wasn't among the top teams in 1984 this didn't matter since it hardly made any difference for the final result. In 1994 however stripping Benetton from all their points would have caused an outrage and the sport had already suffered a blow with the loss of Senna.

And why do you complain, Benetton won the constructors' title in 1995.

  • Note the commentator's comment about William's rear suspension. He says it is quite interesting. Obviously smthing different from other car's.. Maybe in that suspension lies the cause of Senna's tragic accident in Imola (at least this novel back suspension is blamed in a magazine of that era I have come through),

  • senna would have reitred when he reached 40 anyway

  • very good lap senna.

  • Certainly if Senna had stayed with Williams he'd have had a very good chance of winning the 94,95,96 & 97 WDC's, Mr Diet Coke.

Also would probably have meant no titles for Schumacher in his Benneton...

  • If only...

  • Maybe not 94 because he was already 30 points behind and had he not lost his life at Imola he could have missed some races after the crash. In 95 and in 96 97 when the car he would have driven won the WC so i think he woud have won those.

  • Thing is Falmark, in '94 Damon Hill cut Schumacher's lead to a point going into the last race in Australia.

If Hill did that, I'd have been interested in what Senna could've done.

  • @Slater582 hill was only a point behind because Schumacher got his points taken from spa and hill won 3 races Schumacher was banned from

  • Senna was quite capable of winning many races consecutively, he was at his peak as a driver and could have dominated still beause the Williams car was only getting better and the Benetton was not. 30 points behind was possible, if he had not been hit by the lose wheel he would not have been dead and therefore he would not have missed any races.

  • Yes thats one thing that noone can argue with is the he would not have stopped at 41 wins and 3 WDC he would have gotten more.

  • World Championship Standings if Senna had have lived:

    1994- Ayrton Senna

    1995- Ayrton Senna

    1996- Ayrton Senna

    1997- Ayrton Senna

    1998- Ayrton Senna

    1999- Ayrton Senna

    2000- Ayrton Senna

  • 2001- Ayrton Senna

    2002- Ayrton Senna

    2003- Ayrton Senna

    2004- Ayrton Senna

    2005- Ayrton Senna

    2006- Ayrton Senna

    2007- Ayrton Senna

    2008- Ayrton Senna

I know I am greatly exaggerating (obviously) I'm just saying how sad it is that this guy had so much more potential... :'(

  • chances of that would be quite high, but the word "cismete" is written on our foreheads

  • I can you that he isn't Brundle. He would have been driving for Mclaren Peugot during 1994, and continued in F1 until end of 1996...

  • Thats not Brundle dumbass. It's Allard Kalff, who commentated during 1994 with Eurosport alongside John Watson. How do you think Brundle could commentate and drive at the same time? Idiot!

  • Maybe he thinks Brundle is good at multi-tasking.

  • @aloouk indeed, I thought I recognized Allard's voice there

  • @aloouk

    This ist Ben Edwards.

  • @olske1981

No it is not. I clearly hear Allard Kalff and John Watson.

  • @aloouk lol

  • @aloouk he comited suiside in 1994 as had no life with no racing he had moters syndrome

  • @michael12345678902 retard.

  • @NialoF2 no did you not reed what his dad said

  • @michael12345678902 best thing you can do to improve the world - kill yourself asap.

  • Suzuka was good enough

  • lol! Herbert wasn't shit, he was a match for Rubens Barrichello. Just because you aren't as good as the likes of Senna, Schumacher, Hakkinen etc. doesn't mean you're shit. It just means you aren't that good.

  • This circuit must be back on F1 calender..Fuji is piace of shit..

  • Yes, Fuji is a terrible circuit. It's awkard, artificial, and doesn't flow well at all.

  • What?! It's an amazing circuit, not for racing for testing though. It has a great variety of corners. And its a very good track to master on GT5:Prologue

  • The modern Fuji at least, the Fuji from the 80s before the chicanes were put in is a great high speed circuit.

  • No! Aida is worse than Fuji. It has no straights.

  • True !! Aida is a good circuit for GT cars , but not F1

  • I've uploaded the entire qualifying from Sam Marino in 94 if anyone's interested... Great upload jelzl Aida was such an unpractical track to stage a GP at - it was a logistical nightmare as it was so far away from anywhere! Great to see though!

  • I really do hope that wasn't Johnny Herberts best lap time!!

  • the thing i like in senna that he will always be the best....:)

  • It is so sad,in that time nothing had happened

  • Not sure if someone said it already, but that's not his pole position lap. If I recall his pole was a 1:10.2 or near that.

  • No he didn't, Senna had the pole for all 3 races that he was alive for in 1994. He didn't finish the races because of mechanical problems, and being taken out by other drivers.

Also, if Damon Hill can take the fight to Schumacher, take the title fights right down the wire, then obviously Senna could do much more. It's a fact that Senna was better than Hill, he'd tell you that himself, so why wouldn't Senna have done the same if not better? Hill should have honestly won in 94-95.

  • Don't forget though that Schumacher was disqualified from 2 races, and prevented from racing in another 2 races in 94, which is the only reason that Hill was able to mount a title challenge.

Without those events (which arose manly from Sivlerstone's warm up lap) I doubt that even Senna could have beaten Schumacher in 1994.

Had he lived though, it's not hard to imagine Senna having taken three titles from 95-97 in the dominant Williams.

  • hill could win it because shumi 4 dsq over the yearand hill win if schum was dq or had problems

  • @ridoxsupra In the new points system, Damon Hill would have been Champion in 1994

  • thats a horrible thing to say, Senna didnt try to kill himself or forsee himself being second to schumacher....just please respect his death over the actual racing, weather or not schumi would have won or not..

  • SENNA MISTER POLE

  • ooohhhh Aida, Japan not a great track

  • surprised he had room to move and steer properly cos it looks hard work and tight it there and did Watson say83 laps and i think Bernie wanted a better circuit for japan and as suzuka was fairy new i think build in 87 and wot wiv Fuji being used in the 70s

  • Shirfield you have so little idea about what you are saying it is pathetic, no offense. The circuit in this video is not Suzuka, and it is not Fuji either, it is infact Aida. And Fuji and Suzuka were both opened in around a year of each other, Suzuka in 1962, and Fuji followed in 1963.

  • 13 seconds...woah.

Was this the Japanese GP before Suzuka or did Bernie call it the Pacific GP to get two GP's in the lucrative market of Japan?

  • Second opinion

  • that car was crap from the beginning. their active suspension had been banned by FIA, and now williams had to start from zero.

  • Hey.. seems that you don't know what you're talking about.

Benneton was the fastest car. In the beginning of 1994 season, the car was full of problems.

  • that car was rubbish from the beginning. their active suspension had been banned by FIA, and now they had to start from zero.

  • the car was rubbish from the beginning on. their active suspension had been banned by FIA, and they had to start from zero.

  • senna the fastest driver ever!

  • The other commentator was Allard Kalff.

  • Ahhhh. Good old days with F1 on Eurosport commented by John Watson and what was the other guys name ? Was it Allard something ?

  • Hubiera sido una temporada excepcional para Senna, a pesar de sus tropiezos al comienzo, y si no hubiese muerto.

  • And that car was a dog!

  • Pure Genius at work :D

  • this takes me back!

  • wow! 13 seconds faster!!!!!
