@Luck1au: I disagree. Lorenz himself was classified as a lyric tenor. As the quintessential Heldentenor for me no doubt (I hope my nickname will not lose objectivity) Melchior was, in terms of voice, a singer with a prodigious technique in the service of natural qualities that go beyond imagination or understandable. By the way, Max Lorenz is my favorite as Tannhäuser.
