  • vVery cool! Thanks for sharing this awesome!!

  • thanks for this nice video! I love it.

  • Excellent stuff! Thank you. Sitting in the back seat of the F3 must be the best experience ever. The music, was appropiate- almost Vangellis? I am also very lucky to have seen Tornados from a different perspective, on board a hang-glider as they hurtled low thro' the Yorkshire Dales below me!

  • Does anyone have video of our boys (RAF) ground hugging through the hills with a view from the camera looking forward (like we are the pilot) ?, been looking for ages, if anyone knows of a vid please let me know, thanks. Oh and if the RAF see this PLEASE make one !!!

  • very unprofessional to be listening to music in the cockpit during a sortie.

  • @deathwarmedup73 I could be wrong but I did'nt see any indication that they were listening to music in the cockpit ! DONT' CALL THE "RAF" UNPROFESSIONAL, I dont' like that kinda crap Sir. (from a Scot).

  • great video. Interesting to see how involved the pilot is. Watchin his head ovements. It look similar to someone riding a racing bike around a track.

    Must be a tremendous experience.

  • awesome plane!awesome video!thanks for up loading, they are scrapping these planes im told at leeming now!removing tails, canopy ,wings for gr4 they wont even donate an airframe to the yorkshire air museum f..kin politicians our air force as well as the other armed forces is being reduced to nowt

  • Tornado f-3 No longer in Service :-( Such a Shame

  • @TheFighterpilot93 It is until March

  • you have the record brother!

  • Music is 'Deep Sea Orchestra' by Aalborg Fantasy Soundtracks, found on 'Aalborg Soundtracks Vol 2'

Great music, great video... puts hairs on back of neck on end. Reminds me of my fathers cini film he used to do for sqn's he was on in 60-70's with Javelins and Gnats.

  • Great video and some beautiful scenery. My grandparents, uncle, and aunt live in Bedale and I have spent many hours in the past watching the Tornados operate out of Leeming while visiting along with a lot of time in the Lake District watching you guys. Thanks for posting.

  • whats the music? anybode know?

  • Its one of youtubes own tracks, cant remember what is was called

  • @funtimesteve3 "Deep Sea Orchestra" is the name of the song. I love this video. Don't ask me why, but I think it is a combo of the music and the aircraft. Thanks again Steve!

  • @papps43 "Deep Sea Orchestra"

  • F3s did an awesome job on the QRA line too. I still miss the Lightning and Phantom =p

  • Agree tornado f-3s did very well in quick alert reactions i.e scrambles. Still do.

  • A fantastic video with a fantastic piece of music that fits this Tornado Crew and low flying video like a glove. I should have been a pilot, became a cop instead, was never very good at math.....

  • Oh ok, thanks for the update. So the RAF will only have one fighter? The harrier is also going so that will leave just the Typhoon which will be operational.

  • Until the Typhoon stood up on QRA the RAF had only 1 fighter for years, the F3, so that is nothing new. The Harrier is not a fighter and neither really is the F35, they are both strike aircraft with limited air to air capability. The whole point of the Typhoon is that it is multi role which reduces the amount of aircraft types we need.

  • @funtimesteve3 Steve, many thanks for posting this superb video clip, and for the many other clips you have taken the time & trouble to post on YT. Great effort, keep em coming! :)

  • Can you imagine a Typhoon Fighter in the hands of these sort of pilots. The mind boggles!

  • Yes i can, they fly them monday to friday.

  • Will 11 Sqn replace their Tornado's with the F35?

  • I've no idea. But I feel it will be Typhoon Eurofighters though. An amazing aircraft inn itself.

  • 11 sqn converted over to Typhoon's back in 2006. The RAF are no longer getting the F35, currently the Royal Navy are still down to purchase the aircraft.

  • @funtimesteve3 Is there any possibility for the RN to choose the Rafale ?

  • Don't see it happening

  • I had the pleasure of attending 11 Squadron's 75th Anniversary ceremony at RAF Leeming back in 1990. They are a great squadron and I had a great time.

  • very nice video, very very nice music, more more more please

  • I could definitely see myself driving one of these :)

  • I love this video. Finally, a great clip that isn't cut to some kinda rock-style power ballad stuff. Not knocking rock music, it's just after the one thousandth fighter jet clip set to Evanescence or Motorhead it starts to approach overkill, no? Anyway, this clip reflects what is part of at least my fascination with fighter aircraft: the speed, the space, the freedom and the loneliness of the sky. Nice one. More please.

  • Talking baggage along for the ride as usual!! :-)

  • beautiful .. *****

  • was a great airplane.......

  • tornados are very much still in use to this day

  • they were training today i saw 2 typhoons

  • **** **** **** Brilliant!

  • Hi all,

Am trying to find some old mates that were linked to these types. We were cadets together. No names of course but hopefully enough to find them.....

A failed air traffic controller that got posted to 11 in a different capacity. And a Nav instructor with a brother called andrew.

  • This i'm sure is a silly question, but why do F3 pilots need to do low-level flying?

  • To get under radar for a combat air patrol.

  • For fun!!!!!:-)

  • Escorting low level bombers, fighter sweep under radar, faking bomber profiles on anti-air missions,......, oh, and because it is BLOODY GOODFUN ;))

  • when i grow up i want to fly f3's

  • They'll be completely retired in the next 3 years

  • what will replace them

  • typhoon F2

  • is that the eurofighter

  • Eurofighter is the consortium. Typhoon is the aircraft

  • They were testing the Typhoon out for ground attack too, I'm not too sure whether they're going through with using them for that though. But there is rumour they'll be replacing the Tornado GR.4's. I also read that they were planning on testing them with the Fleet Air Arm alongside the F-35.

  • The typhoon is cleared for the air to surface role now. Ignore what you read about the Fleet Air Arm

  • Well you never know what the future may hold. But I very much doubt it being a product of the Fleet Air Arm's resources anytime soon. They've already set a date for the phasing out of many Tornado squadrons and the merging of them.

  • The FGR4 (ground attack Typhoon) gets combat confirmation within the next year or so and will eventually phase out the GR4, but it's not in the RAF's interests to do so yet. I haven't heard anything about a naval adaptation of the typhoon though. Obviously they'd have to make the new carriers with catapults and cables because the harriers and JSF are STOVL. For that reason I doubt it.

  • I doubt it too, but it was just something I read ages ago.

I know the RAF are interested in replacing the Harrier with the F-35 though too. It's as if they're buying a whole new force all together.

  • Great vid.

Where did you get the voice-less version of Limp Bizkit's take on the Mission Impossible theme?
