I have the complete recording of I DUE FOSCARI on Philips LPs, and it's a strong and committed performance by all of the singers (Cappuccilli, Ricciarelli, Carreras, and Ramey among them) and by Gardelli, who conducts - just the right sort of recording to "sell" one of Verdi's lesser works.

uno spagnolo che pronuncia meglio di un italiano

Carreras e' stato un grande, specie nel repertorio verdiano, spesso affidato,secondo me sbagliando, a tenori lirici leggeri ,per lo piu' sudamericani

Il tenore verdiano ,tranne forse per il Rigoletto, e' un tenore lirico spinto, o comunque un tenore dalla voce con buon volume e buon fraseggio nei recitativi

Come Carreras, Corelli ,Di Stefano e oggi Alvarez
