I wanna get one since it seems like the best card I found with S-Video out on it.
The plug looks like a 7 pin mini DIN. According to wikipedia you can plug a normal 4 pin s video in it, could any1 test it so i can be sure im buying the right card :P
@555GB Not at all, the casing is part of the cooler/heatsink/fan. I'd recommend using compressed air cans and blowing the dust out of the fan if you do not wish to take it apart. but be careful to not wet the fan with the compressed air.
thanks for the tip, gotta do the same care with mine. First time always sucks cuz I'm always afraid of applying too much force and breaking up the whole thing
@umbrella12 If all the screws are removed it should come off, if it is your first time removing it than you will need a bit of extra force. be careful with the fan connector on the PCB though.
Personally aluminum coolers are crap beyond 50w load unless it is a cpu cooler but in this case the stock is plain crap. The VF 900/1000 are good coolers and the vf1000 can take heat but doesn't vent outside the case. 2x 9800gt 1x 8800gtx 2x 7900gtx duo (big ass card) and a bunch more.
Don't only change themalpaste, the stock cooler sucks and give high temps and make alots of noise. After i change the cooler on both of my cards the temps are 40idle and 50load, and second card is 30idle and 40load. and the noise is almost gone. Scythe Musashi works great.
@MaCnRYdER I mainly just felt like taking it apart. and since stock thermal compounds always suck on reference card coolers I thought why not just change the thermal compound while I'm at it. Swapped it with some Gelid Solutions GC2 and it dropped my idle temps from around 60C to 51C
@TechExplosion yea stock always sucks, at least you lowered your temps now, I guess thats what happens when you get bored you feel like cleaning things or taking apart stuff. Thats what I like to do when I'm bored.
@vearheart42 I hear you on that man. I've been wanting to upgrade from on board audio to a decent sound card for a while now. I'll try to see if I can get one soon to review. I'll keep you posted.
@vearheart42 I'm not too fond of the lower end Asus sound cards. I've been looking into the Auzentech X-Raider, 5 bucks more than the Xonar DS, has upgradeable OPAMPS for all 7 channels, and it has digital out too. I'd suggest you get the Auzentech over that specific Asus.

MaCnRYdER 1 year ago
@MaCnRYdER Mainly use my Sanyo Xacti CG10, but sometimes use my DSLR. In this video for example I used my DSLR, It's a Pentax K-x.

You should do reviews on sound cards. You do enough headset reviews maybe you should do one on a good sound card.
