@dougster701 yes. old levels frequently apear in the newer games... like the school level in thp8 from ps2 is from thps2 or something like that. and casino in thaw was from thug2 remix and oil rig in thaw was from thps3 for xbox ect

haven't played any of the pro skater games. THUG (ps2) had a great story, THUG 2 (ps2) was ok but basically Jackass on wheels, THAW (ps2) is my favourite in the series (heavy punk influence which I liked). THP8 (PS2) was TERRIBLE, and THPG (PS2 & XBOX 360) was pretty good but better on xbox

Proving ground is the only one a currently have, THUG1 & 2 were definitely the best of all tony hawk games but pro skaters were legendary as well, thug1 was the first game I got for xbox and I had the time of my life :D so fun.

My top 3 TH games:

Pro Skater 1: The one that started it all. The levels were great and varied. And then you add the nostalgia factor...

Pro Skater 4: This had one of the best soundtracks in the series, and the levels were amazing. Also, Alcatraz is the best Tony Hawk level ever.

THUG 2: This has to be one of the funniest games I have ever played. The levels were awesome (especially New Orleans), and it had pretty much a ton of awesome packed in it.

I like Skate because your skater has weight to him. Like when you go down a downhill slope, you actually feel like you're gaining speed. In the TH games, a downhill slope feels just like a flat surface. The S.V Dam area especially, that part almost feels like SSX on a skateboard.

Tony Hawk games are just so much more fun than the Skate games. They're easy to pick up and play from the getgo but hard to master. That's the sign of a good game. Where the Skate games it takes time just to learn the basics. You might say that makes it more realistic, but you might as well just learn to skate.

1. THUG 1(i just love this game, maps, story, tricks and also i have beat the game about 20 times lol. never get bored of that game.)

2. THAW (open world is really good for me and also i like bmx and parkour! i like clothes and all of that)

3. THUG 2 (really good goals and stages! also like the idea of story. and different vehicles)

But think that SKATE games are better. (going to buy skate 3 soon)

Tony Hawk games used to be great. The last truely great game was THUG 2. The last decent game was Proving Grounds.

Nowadays you're better off with Skate, because it's rather obvious that the THR board is shit.

Maaan as a kid i grew up with the tony hawk games, i was a skater growing up an gloved tony hawk and rocket power! As the games came out they got better and up until better up until the newer ones that use a board to control the player-ride, shred. If activision went back to basics and had a good game like project 8 the last good tony hawk game. But with all the call of duty, and halo games out its hard for racing games, and skaeteboe=arding games to compete with first person shooters

THUG2 was good except for the story mode. A lot of it was just plain boring. And the Bam Margera crap really ruined it. I hate that guy. He made skating "badass" and created a new stereotype. He isn't funny, either. But THUG with THUG2 levels and features would be, arguably, the best Tony Hawk game.

Tony Hawk's American Wasteland has more features in THUG2 other than BMX's and a whole new world. It let's you smack people and even throw your board! You can do both the sticker slap and the wallplant, plus other then some free running you can create way more tricks! Plus create-a-park adds an aircraft carrier.
