@frodospicer makes no difference, the difference between diesel and petrol grades of oil is negligable nowadays, maybe 10-15 years ago 5W30 fully synthetic oil is what this engine has right now.

can it cause damage to other engine components. I sudenly started noticed this problem in the exact day I was driving to make the oil change , going up a hill at 100km/h

@brfr82 if the valves need adjusting then in extreme cases, your power would be down, emmisions sky high and mega fuel consumption, but it wouldn't cause damage to other bits of the engine. I've done just over 2000 miles on this car and the tapping noise disapears after 2 mins of starting the engine.

@1700iDiGuy my studio made 150k/100 miles, the noise doesnt stop.mechanics says its the rod, but i am going to make a last oil and filter change. the noise got worse(even in cold now and looks like a music beatbox, inconsistent with rev) but it stop worsening. Gonna give some more runs...

yes, mechanic says its just the valve tappets, they are bucket and shim type, not hydraulic. general wear and tear, could do with valve adjustment, but not too necessary.
