Aeris's death was tragic for those of us who loved the game. a lot of people complain that that scene (along with the game itself) is overrated, which is fine, because hey, it's an opinion. but for those of us who love the game to no end (best game ever made, in my opinion), this was a real heartbreaker. especially when considering the scope of the entire game, and not JUST her death. the anju and kafei sidequest was also really sad, along with the whole atmosphere of the end of the world.

I paused at 1 min 20 sec in to say I remember the first two big moments when I truly felt sad because of videogame stories. In FFIV when the twins cast stone upon each other to hold back the wall made me misty eyed. Also, in Breath of Fire, I forgot the names but when you beat one of the bosses and you get her back story and see what happens to her and her love... It got to me...

i hate to point this out, but for a personal level and usefulness in game

i always have a healer in my rpg teams. so in my first play of ff7 i would've had cloud aeris and either barret of tifa so instead i put healing stuff on tifa and it made the game feel awkward

Im also a bit ashamed to say that Aerith's death didn't really effect me too much since I was routing for Tifa ^_^ and I thought she was gonna be resurrected later anyway.
